Nothing compares to the What The Fuckery of the female Beelzebumon though. It's actually embarrassing that that's an official Digimon. Thanks to Tri I've gotten back into Digimon, I started collecting the original Super Evolution toys. Been only collecting for two months, I think I have a problem. http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/...pszylrvnbh.jpg I have Kabuterimon/AtlurKabuterimon too but he's not pictired as he came reeking of cigarette smoke that I'm trying to get rid of. The best figure by far is the Jogress Evolving XV-Mon and Stingmon. It's actually quite amazing how accurate it can be both seperate and as Paildramon. Still trying to track down Gargomon/Rapidmon, Guilmon/Dukemon, Combining Omegamon and Armor Evolving Fladramon and Pegasimon for decent prices. |
Everyone's complaining about fanservice and here I am remembering Lilymon,Angewomomon and Lady Devimon from the original series.

I have never liked Angewomon, though. Digimon has always had their cheesecake characters, but LadyDevimon was nowhere near as prominent as people think. They only remember her because "The catfight between her and Angewomon was hawt." ...Or she was just a memorable character. Whatever. Dominatrix demons aren't really too rare in anime, but I guess it would be a lot of people's first introduction to them... Also, I used to have the Stingmon/XVeemon/Paildramon toy. It was awesome, but I lost it in a move. I'm envious of you :lol |

Yeah, Lilimon doesn't count. She's humanoid, but not recognizably human. What I like the least are the mons that are literally just a human girl in cosplay. Those aren't even monsters, they're the sexy Halloween costume version of monsters. Lilimon is not that, and so she is good (it is for this reason also that i do not even mind, say, Ranamon *that* much). And her design and clothes are not emphasising fanservise at all (tri made her more shapely, because tri, but still). She's just a flower fairy. There are other examples, but not her.
Really though, Yellow Ranger brought it up, but Frontier is pretty stupid about it specifically. Ice bear excluded, the human spirit Digimon are vaguely human looking Digimon in armor...except for Fairimon, who is just some girl in her underwear. Then the beast spirits are all, as the name implies, more beastly and monstrous looking monsters...except Shutumon, who is just a more voluptuous girl in her underwear. Way to go Frontier. But yeah, it's always been a thing, doesn't make the fact that it keeps happening any less annoying though. |

So I'm some 9 episodes into Savers. It's decent ish, I gotta say. Something of a sausage fest though. It's all about Masaru except when it's about Touma, in which case it's about Touma, except when it's about Masaru. Yoshino has done jack squat in these nine episodes, and Sunflowmon has been completely ineffective the very very few times she's been called on to do Anything. Even the first episode that actually was about Yoshino, with the one idol dude, ended up being more about Masaru, and in the end she was unable to do a single thing.
All kinds of bullshit, this is. Not even Izumi had it this bad, and Izumi had it pretty damn bad. But, eh, I object to her treatment, but mostly on principle. If you can't even split focus in a matter even remotely resembling what one could call "equally" when there's just three main characters, you done fucked up somewhere. On the other hand, I'm not really losing a lot of sleep crying about not seeing more of her. As a character, she's fairly uncompelling (though I may think this as a result of her dismal treatment; if we hadn't seen a few more sides to Touma by this point I probably would find him kind of a bore as well. They need to let her actually do something before I can start caring, and they haven't let her, at all), and I really do not like her voice--I guess her va was new or something? She's not very good. (i just looked it up, yoshino was like her only role ever. explains a lot. is not encouraging for my hopes of her possible eventual improvement though). But eh, I can only hope this changes by the time Lilamon enters the picture. Which should be...episode 17? Man. And GeoGreymon evolves in 13? Jeez. Feels kinda early for Perfects to start showing up. Though looking it up I guess Tamers had them pretty early too. Guess I'm stuck thinking in Adventure terms. Guess it makes sense since they have to fit in not only the Ultimates but Burst Mode too for all of them... |

I think part of what made Tamers seem like it waited a long time to introduce the Perfects was the fact that they used Evolution, especially early on, in general very sparingly. I think its noteworthy that while Growmon evolved into MegaloGrowmon in Episode 14, a mere 6 episodes after we saw Growmon for the first time, that was actually the first time we saw Growmon since his first appearance. Growmon was absent for 5 whole episodes and the episode after his first appearance he didn't even fight! Then after that we didn't see MegaloGrowmon again for another 6 episodes. Likewise Dukemon was missing for a good 9 episodes after his first appearance. Plus, like in Adventure, the existence of a new evolution didn't mean that you never saw the old evolutions again. Growmon didn't stop appearing once MegaloGrowmon appeared, in fact he only evolved in dire situations. Similarly in Adventure, MetalGreymon wasn't completely forgotten about once WarGreymon hit the scene. The same can not be said for Savers. GeoGreymon appeared in (I'm fairly confident on this) every single episode since episode one and once RiseGreymon appears you never see just GeoGreymon again. The evolution sequences in Tamers are designed to follow each other straight away with no cutaway so from the first time GeoGreymon evolves Agumon goes straight into RiseGreymon, skipping GeoGreymon. Heck, in the dub they even called it "Warp Digivolve" because GeoGreymon is never seen again. |
Ok I hear mix thing about saver one had I watched cause alot of people said Japanese dub was better and story was some what better and dub sucked what are you guys thoughts on it.

And huh, man, I've completely forgotten how Tamers went :lol. I did remember Growmon didn't show up until episode 8, but all the details start getting foggy (the fact that the last time I saw it around 3 years ago I binged most of it in like 2 days probably doesn't help keep things distinct). I should really rewatch it one of these days. And...dang. GeoGreymon actually was absent from the episode where Touma celebrates Masaru's sister's birthday, but other than that yeah, dude's everywhere. If they really just keep skipping evolutions that's kind of lame though... Quote:
It'd be hard to mess up Yoshino's voice though. As for script changes and stuff, I dunno. Not that my experience with dubs would really be relevant anyway...I'm from Mexico, so while I watched the Adventures and Tamers and parts of Frontier dubbed, they were in Spanish. Which are from what little I know better dubs than the US got anyway, but I don't really know. We at least got translated theme songs instead of new ones, so that's one point in our favor... |
Man, just hearing more Tamers makes me want to re-rewatch Tamers again :lol
God, I love that series. Concerning Savers, if I recall, Sunflowmon wins one fight, maybe two...So don't expect much out of Yoshino and Lalamon until Rosemon Burst Mode hits the scene (Lilamon does put in work, but she's overshadowed by the others very quickly). I've only seen Savers subbed, so I can't say. Aside from the glory of Citramon, I don't know what all is different between the two. |
Savers isn't making any sense.
Ikuto speaks in slightly broken Japanese, because he was abandoned as an infant and has the whole "wild child" thing going on. That would all make sense and everything...except...all the Digimon, with whom he was raised, can speak with perfect Japanese? Like really what even are they going for with this. Weird. |
At the risk of sounding stupid, because I've been out of the Digimon game since 04 aired and I stopped watching, who is that white dragon type Digimon with the goggles and red cape that traipsing about in Tri?
|
That's Huckmon, a relatively new character (Created in 2012), so no worries.
He has a not so well kept secret behind him that I want to know if you're interested in knowing now of just finding out as Tri continues along. |
Folks, I just got word that Mr. Wada who was THE voice of Digimon songs has passed away.
He was 42. Cause of death was cancer. May he rest in peace and my condolences. |

Since Netflix has been putting out anime for a while now, would you guys think that Netflix and Saban (They hold the rights to Digimon in the US) could dub Tri on Netflix? Tri is made for the older fans and I think keeping uncut on Netflix would be a good idea. I don't see it being release in theaters for a limited release. As long if they get the original English voice cast back, I will be happy.
|
Would it really make sense to get the original cast? They are all teens in high school now, so it would be strange for characters like Tai and Izzy to still sound like they were 10-12.

All the characters look like they come from a gross hentai. |

Also, one of the women with the PawnChessmon has their shirt just...Disappear. Solely to show more cleavage beneath her jacket. I really hated it because it detracted from the otherwise nice fight against Belphemon. |

It's pretty offputting and gross, and yeah, it really detracted from what could have been a solid episode. Though even putting that aside. Ikuto's Ultimate Evolution episode isn't even slightly about him, like everything else it's more about Masaru than anyone. Fucking typical. This show has a really terminal case of the excessive-lead-focus. |
