Actor Gentaro has a main role in series, actor Ryusei has a recurring role in the Kingdom franchise, actor Shun has retired. For the most part, without Gentaro, there is no point in the anniversary movie. I think now Toei will only be able to issue a special: "Osugi's suspenders against the revived Libra."

This makes sense in theory, but would probably be way too confusing for kids and some adult fans to follow as we're viewing the story from Ace's perspective. Far easier to have the DGP seasons take place within successive epochs instead of jumping all over the place. This approach would've been better off if we were following he DGP's POV as then viewers wouldn't need a chart to keep track of two different chronological timelines.

I also think that it is quite difficult to understand, especially in the plot. And Ace's past lives play too small a role in the show to give them much attention.

I think it's safe to say that Geats is the next best Reiwa Rider since Saber or at the least the next well-concluded show since Saber. :rock:

It just struck me as amusing that "best show since Saber" is essentially the same statement as "better than Revice."

I wish I had the fortitude that Saber fans have, because I'm currently on my 3rd attempt at watching Saber, and I'm always just so confused :lol

Saber, much like Ghost, is sort of a show that really comes together in its second half. The first half is weird, and weirdly paced, but the second half makes all of those disparate elements connect in exciting, unique ways. If you're interested in seeing what Saber fans like about that show, I'd encourage you to power through some of the uneven first half to see how it all works together in the second half. An absolutely stunning batch of final episodes await you at the finish line!

I guess Saber worked for me after Kento supposedly got taken out and the whole show became about SOL vs Touma. Touma being the underdog who had to build himself up was what was fun for me. Also the subplot with Desast being the unintentional master for Ren was fun to watch too. And who could resist the smooth voice of Akio Otsuka describing the WRBs every time? :lolol

It's truly genius how personalized Touma's reconciliation with each rider was. It was there that it was revealed how much this show appreciates and understands each of its characters.
Also, don't forget Mei. It is very rare to make the only ordinary person in the main cast an important and necessary character.

I would go further and call Geats the best show overall since Build.

Geats was pretty much perfect IMO, the final endgame dragged and went nowhere for a bit but otherwise: Awesome stuff.

I feel in the minority nowadays, which is good all things considered, but Saber did nothing for me. More so, I actively disliked it.

Honestly, I think Geats is the worst Kamen Rider series to air in 2023 so far.

Its funny you mention Build because my feeling towards Geats are the same as my feeling towards Build: Both are incredible shows that stumble a bit in the late 30's early 40's (Build a bit more so imo) but both ultimately stick the landing beautifully.

And I think both can be opposites regarding that - also perhaps funny. Both shows are 2 of the fastest-paced Rider shows, but Build can feel like it's been completed midway thus the stumble is about dragging, while Geats can still feel lacking, thus the stumble is about being rushed, only featuring "necessary" scenarios to stick the landing.

Geats as a whole is practically Gaim + Ex-Aid though. Also same producer and writer.

I feel, regardless of Geats' ultimate quality, it still completely cascades Revice, a show that basically went from bad to shit after Hiromi was written out, and Saber, a show I've never been able to watch 10 episodes of before dropping it on 3 occasions.
Zero-One is mediocre, but I'd probably rate it above Geats, though.

Well, given that Hiromi wasn't supposed to survive the first episode, Revice just went back to the original script. By the way, this made me wonder if Shiro's silently swallowing Michinaga's accusations was due to the fact that the show's crew didn't want another unrecorded audience favorite to be thrown into the story. Especially considering that the comments towards Shiro after the first episode are very supportive. Although the reason for this, most likely, is not so much a character as a bear helmet.

I was gonna comment that it's kind of clear Revice's original story was bad, but then I remembered.
Like, every time I heard an update on Revice, it was how the script had been changed again.
Hiromi surviving and becoming Demons, George becoming less antagonistic, Daiji being pulled in every different direction, Daiji and Sakura getting final forms, basically everything about Over Demons, etc etc

I think the only other show that suffered from worse forced rewrites was Hibiki :lol

I dunno. I was satisfied with Kabuto, and generally speaking, most people tend to view Kabuto as a middle of the road series at worst, while Hibiki's final third is wildly regarded as inferior and Revice is generally seen as a poor series.

While people praise it for not sidelining Sakura, I felt they tried to push her too hard. Her Weekend plot was the worst of the 3 and she tended to get inserted into episode plots that don't really need her, while also forcing Aguilera to spontaneously have an obsession over her.

Well, Keiwa is in the background throughout the entire JGP and doesn't even get good fights. In this regard, Sakura is still lucky.

Sakura's character was originally built around her claim to be invincible. Aguilera made her see her weakness, and that's what all villains do: expose the weaknesses of heroes and their allies. But in Sakura's case, it provoked the acceptance of a weakness and turning it into a strength. Accordingly, after Aguilera tried to repeat the initial effect, plunging her into despair, but in the end it turned against herself, dragging her to the bright side. Overall, I would say that this arc was not very controllable, but logical enough.

The belt goes to Daiji, who is able to use it, but he is too scared to do so. In the background, Sakura fights the Giffs Jr., ignoring the device. She doesn't need a belt to protect people, she's strong without it. And only Ikki has all the necessary qualities and reason to use it.
Of course, the fact that later all three also became riders pretty much spoils the pledged message. Still, the first episode of Revice is to be commended for being such an empathetic, smart, and imaginative demonstration of what it means to be a Kamen Rider.

Noticed that Ace's move in his last episode is something that already happened in previous serieses, like Battle Royale ones.

Shiro from Ryuki ran an experiment that killed his physical body, of which by then his Mirror World version appears as a ghost without physical form (hence he has Odin as his puppet), but also gets powers like controlling monsters, warp reality, affecting people's health.

Mai from Gaim gets the Forbidden Fruit fused to her, and later Ryoma murders her by extracting her heart from it, but while her body dies, the Fruit manifests as her spirit turning her into Woman of the Beginning.

And this is also the main state of Takeru and Ankh in their shows.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but with all the recent Kaixa news, a few weeks ago Bandai announced that Kaixa will be joining the legend belt series. Much like Faiz this will probably only have the transformation and finisher sounds which for the inexpensive price point that these go for I think that's more than ok. Also they'll be releasing an exclusive version at Narikiri World which pays tribute to the original toys packaging.

watching kamen rider kugga right now. got to the episode were (spoilers?) kugga almost dies good show so far, its slower then what im used to with these shows but makes up for it with stellar action and good characters! :)

I was sure that faith in Decade’s return had disappeared, but apparently the most stubborn will continue to hope until Gotchard’s finale.
