I'm most familiar with the Jetman - Timeranger era of Sentai, followed by Gokaiger - current...but what about the stuff in the middle? What's good?

Gekiranger appears to be the fan favorite, and I've heard it's influenced by Hong Kong action films, so I'm definitely interested in that. I've heard good things about Dekaranger and Abaranger as well. What about the rest? Boukenger and Go-Onger both look intriguing.

Gekiranger is good. Other than that I would say Hurricanger, Dekaranger, and Shinkenger.

Oh...to be honest I always forget that Shinkenger is as old as it is hahaha. Yeah, I've heard good things about that too.

Well I am of course the ultimate Boukenger fan and it was my favourite sentai for a very long time, although I would of course also put Geki/Shinken very high in terms of that period. Dekaranger is also good but it is what it is really, has some very good moments if you can tolerate Ban.

Shinkenger was great. They finally ditched film cameras for full digital, notably utilizing the Red One camera, the casting was PERFECT, art direction was nice, fight choreo was dope, and it was penned by Kobayashi.

Maybe that's why. The digital camera makes it look more modern.

So here's another question, which series does the Chinese theme better, Gekiranger or Dairanger?

Gekiranger if I had to choose only one from the two I guess. Dairanger is still great with the motifs and the martial arts choreo, but was a bit generic overall I think compared to Gekiranger which went full-on with the kung-fu stuff. It pays tribute in a lot of ways to the Kung Fu film genre such as the suits taking notes from Bruce Lee's Game of Death, the Five Venoms, and the voices of the 7 Gekijyuken masters being the same voice actors as their kung fu film actor counterpart, meaning they are the same voice actors in Japan who are commonly or notably known to be hired to dub Kung Fu actors such as Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, etc. And stuff like the Rinjyuken grunts being Jiangshis were nice touches I thought.
