Yeah, that kinda sucks; but frankly that's just how it is and it's been a problem for a while. If this is the way that starts off Disney not having Literally Every Franchise Ever, then so be it.

I'm fine with Marvel getting their characters back. I just don't want Disney to buy out Sony just to get Spider-Man back. They already own Fox and I don't want them to own another movie studio.

As long as they get Spider-Man back period I’ll be happy too.

I want to keep Spider-Man into the MCU because he has an ongoing story that involves Disney characters, so...Yeah...

I think people are mad at Sony because Spidey was being set up as a major player for the MCU's next phase, and now it's suddenly and abruptly over.

And you know what? My life doesn't depend on whether or not the next Spiderman film is good. I survived SpiderMan 3, back in the day, and there's still tonnes of superhero films coming out.

Literally a day or two ago, they announced intentions to re-release Far From Home in cinemas with deleted scenes. That screams "we didnt make enough money the first time. Give us more please, sheep". Disney wants the money.

There's pros and cons to this situation. Con, Spidey's story in the MCU just abruptly ends on a cliffhanger. Pro, no more Iron Boy Jr in the MCU.

Disney definitely can buy the rights if they want to. They've got the money. I'd rather they do that than buy Sony in its entirety.

But I'm honestly not worried as they still have the same staff planned for the 2 other movies that were contracted so we'll likely still see some good Spidey movies, not to mention the MCU did so well without needing their biggest name so this won't hurt too bad

The first part was obviously directed at Disney. They did the same thing with Endgame, coincidentally during the whole Avatar vs. Endgame thing. Sony's no saint either when it comes to money, but Disney has been more obvious and greedy in recent years.
