Daibouken is a great mech. Quote:
I'd say the drawbacks are: Some of the detail might have benefited from a slight wash to bring it out, but it's a lot more apparent in person and in later photos than the earlier ones. I had originally intended to add lots of panel lining, but I don't think nearly as much will be needed, the sculpting really dos show up well, especially on the lighter plastic, because it's not bright white, it's a very light grey, or off white. There is almost too much articulation. The arms are amazing, no changes needed there. The legs, they're so jointed that sometimes it's easy to make it look derpy instead of life-like. I think it's the sideways hinge on the knees, they can easily make him look knock-kneed, which doesn't make him look threatening, or even competent. And finally, there's a few things I wish could peg into place in bot mode. The treads that go behind his back could benefit from locking pegs, and the shoulders. They can swing forward which lets you do two handed grips on the hammer, but I wish there was a click in the hinge, or some tab they could use when fully out, so they wouldn't so easily move in when you're just trying to move the arm up. Back to the good, there's not a lot of paint, but what there is is well done, and well placed, making the bot mode look a little more interesting - though I'm definitely curious to see if/what Reprolabels comes out with for these guys. The Hammers are awesome. I love that they can attach to the top as a tank turret, or be disassembled and stashed underneath. You can have two medium length hammers, or, since the handle breaks apart into two pieces, you can have two short handled hammers, maybe for throwing, or you can also give one hammer a longer handle, which makes it look more like it was intended to be two handed. It looks really good. The gun molds are different for each figure, and both are really great sculpts. I just wish there was more than one place to attach them in vehicle mode. it would be nice to have them underneath, or on the sides, or hanging from Apex's wings. Geminus' head mold is really good. The regular one, I mean. Now that I think about it, I guess I didn't get the battle damaged head, which is slightly disappointing, except I didn't really care about it in the first place. But I'll double check when I get home and contact CapturedPrey if I didn't get it, because I'm pretty sure they advertised it as being included. All those words to say, I'm really happy with them, very glad I got them, and highly recommend them. Plus they're only, what, $40 each? They're small deluxes, but they're well worth that. |

Got my Red Buster and Daizyujin in. I haven't opened Red Buster yet, but Daizyujin is pretty awesome. |

Just today purchased the Legacy Morpher from the local TRU.
Payed for and waiting on SH Figuarts Meteor, Den-O Sword Form, Zeronos, and Wizard. Also waiting on my Mugenbine NEXT set from Amiami to get here :-) Plus many TF's that no one would be interested in haha. |

My first booster for the Green Ranger with the "Evil" ability, ha! |
I only picked up Red Buster because he was being sold for pennies.
Looks nice, but I really do sympathize with those who are angry they can't get him in his signature pose. |
