So I picked up MGS Rising yesterday. MAN that soundtrack is amazing an the action in that game reminds me of Kamen rider.
|
So i've been playing Conception 2, i think i over grinded in the optional dungeons because i've been breezing through the envy dungeon.
|
Wow FFX is actually really boring. Even playing for longer stretches it's no fun, mainly because it's so drawn out and slow. All the narrative and character focus offers nothing as it gives 4kids a run for its money when it comes to directing, scripting and editing the dubbing.
No one sounds like they're actually having a real conversation and the only character we get from the actors is when they fluff a line or struggle on a word. Atrocious. |
I beat the Envy dungeon, probably the easiest boss so far.
|
I am playing Naruto shippuden ultimate ninja storm 2 to ps3:)
I am only halfway in the game, and the only thing I can say is that the first one rocks better. In the first game there were more freedom and I really liked to run all the city over and over again. But the second offers a wonderful game animationXD |
Persona 4 Golden
Rise's shadow boss is a rainbow colored stripper swinging around a pole. God fucking damn it Persona 4 :) Also, fuck Shadow Teddie. Deus Ex Human Revolution: Director's cut Finally out of that Missing Link segment and back to the main game. Man, have I lost some skills. I haven't played the proper campaign in awhile, I keep getting caught. I don't want to rely on my invisibility but god damn it I want to get to the next area. Borderlands 1 So I'm almost near the end of the main game I guess? One more Vault Key piece and off to the final battle I go. I've also been messing with Remote Play on Vita and Ps3 and yeah its not that great. Anyone who even thinks of it as a viable option compared to the off screen play on Wii U is a fucking Playstation fanboy that needs thier shit slapped. I heard the Ps4 remedies this with the Remote Play being mandatory for every nonwacky controller game, but god knows if Sony put any effort into it considering they're ignoring the Vita. |

Who here has played Papers, Please?
|
Well a random dragon encounter helped me get my fire breath shout just in time for me to face the frost troll at the near top of High Hrothgar. :lol

Croft 13 puts a lot of emphasis on stealth but I've been playing it like an action game and nothing seems lost in doing it. Well okay, not exactly, half the story is the fact that Lara doesn't want to be killing all these people but it kinda detracts from that when you can set people on fire and level a whole room of dudes with a machine gun. Oh well, it's fun.
The main strength is in the platforming though. That might sound obvious for a Tomb Raider title but I'm really not a big platforming guy so I was shocked by how smooth and pick up and play the platforming is in this game. I feel yet to be punished for my lack of platforming ability. It also helps that they give you such rich environments to explore. This island is full of mystery, horror and history and rewards your exploration. I love the way you can literally raid tombs, finding hidden locations and just poking around for rewards both physically but also in terms of more gleams into the story and characters. |

It's not a bad game to me. It is being heavily criticized right now for graphics but hoooly shit man... THAT IS NOT A JUDGE OF A GOOD GAME. That said, they're totally fine anyways! It's definitely like people are just searching for something to complain about. I just die a lot. Any side mission I try to do results in me getting swarmed and peppered with bullets within seconds, so I clearly have to work on my stealth skills. (But that's still pretty hard in some cases, like the mission I gave up on last night before posting that where you have to take down - but not kill - two men in cars. Who are part of a convoy of a gang that all jump out to immediately shoot you. In the wide open street. Which then attracts police. Quickly. So you get surrounded fast with no cover.) But the world is nice and entertaining. NPCs not only react to what you're doing but even just do random things with each other... Like making out at a bus stop, or walking down the sidewalk and all of a sudden yelling after a car because she totally knew the driver. It feels alive and that's awesome. |
Man Watch_Dogs sounds like my worst nightmare, I hate games with artificial difficulty like that. What platform you playing it on? I've heard the game performs a lot better on next gen consoles, which I guess is an obvious thing to say but it looks like performance on current gen has broken the game for some people.

Beaten all three modes of Xtreme 2 (X, Zero and the titliar Xtreme) so right now I'm thinking about getting practice for Brawl with the Classic Controller in case the new Gamecube controllers with adapter turns out to be a bust or go back to DKC TF.

It is rather frustrating... But at the same time I've hardly played any of the story proper, so perhaps I'm just tackling all of these things too soon. I'm still going to give myself more time to get used to the game and its tricks. |

You into JRPGS Locke, because the PS3 has a ton of those.
|
Playing infinity blade 2 since it was free last week, probably the only app game I really enjoyed before transformers legend became a cash grab game.

Out of the tutorial section of FFX now and it's really picking up pace, the brutality of Sin's destruction really took me off guard as I don't remember the game going to such dark places. Between that and the Sphere Grid really starting to open up, I'm remembering why I loved this game so much as a kid. Tidus is still really boring though.
|
So i finished the world adventure bit of Azran legacy, it was cool except the last bit that, it was kind of boring, i liked how they're were characters that were rule 63 of Romeo and juliet.
Now i'm finishing up leftover puzzles because i feel like they're gonna put me in a spot where i'll have to solve a number of puzzles to continue. |
I think I'm getting better at it, but Watch_Dogs still isn't really living up to its hype.
I'm listening to last week's The Patch podcast right now and they're talking about it at the beginning and overall are summing up my problems pretty well. Most importantly, you just can't get into the main story because there literally are too many side missions and mini games that remove you from that immersion because they just don't matter to the story. You really are constantly bombarded by them (and constantly being told somebody's searching for a multiplayer match is super annoying and distracting). I do agree that the side missions were not handled that well here. I did complete Act 1, though. I'm enjoying it. It's just not as great as I was hoping. |
Okay so i finished Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy.
Jesus christ this game was amazing. Not a lot of games can manage to make me cry, in fact the only other one that comes to mind is Pokemon mystery dungeon 2, and that game only made me cry once at a big moment near the end. This game however made me cry like 4 times straight during the course of it's final chapter, i'm not even sure people agree with me on this, the game just kept throwing twist after twist after twist there. I came to really like the character Aurora and how Layton and the others spend they're time teaching her the ways of the modern world. It absolutely brought me to tears how she was killed off at the end when they revealed she was a robot (though to be fair i totally called it) And when Laytons true name was revealed, man that scene was tear inducing. And when it was revealed that Emmy was just a spy sent by the villains i was screaming at the screen there, i just couldn't believe it. If they'res one thing i didn't like, lack of Grosky. He was in one chapter and then a scene at the end, kind of felt empty without the guy. All of it was just beautiful. |
So i finished the prequel trilogy of Professor Layton i started playing the first trilogy with Curious village, i'm almost done with it so in about 2 days i'll start Diabolical box.

Lara Croft 2013 is legit one of the best games I've ever played. Played a lot of meh and a lot of shit already in my few months of being a PS3 owner but Lara Croft is a highlight and makes me glad to own a console to enjoy it on.
|
Locke, I wonder what you think about Nintendo?
|
You can tell how tired I am that I called Tomb Raider 'Lara Croft', oops.

Now I'm older I've never been interested in a Wii or whatever. The only real serious bit of Nintendo in my life has been Pokémon games but those games don't really interest me much any more, although I do own a DS XL. |

I hate having to play as characters i don't like to get 100% in a game, in this case Rosalina in Mario kart 8.
|
Finally finished Persona 3 Portable at 60 hours. That alone might be more use than I've gotten out of my 3DS in my two years of having it. Onto some Vita games, then.
|
Watch_Dogs' campaign is now complete. Time to get through all of the side quests now.

Persona 4 Golden
Two bosses in a row? Jeez, give me some slack Persona 4. Yeah, just saved Rise and got Teddy's Persona. Again, giant stripper boss followed by a giant dark demon bear. Kid Icarus Uprising Finally got back to playing this game. Just doing a bunch of random shit, like fusing new weapons, trying to get achievements and all of the figurines. |
On my phone's SNES Emulator, I'm playing this Kamen Rider game for it. It's like those old Power Rangers games. It's fun.
