Well that last series wasn't very good lol. So I'd imagine expectations are fairly low.

I bet the new TV series will be dubbed before Tri does. It would be cool if the new TV series airs on Nick Toons while Tri gets dubbed uncut on Netflix for the older fans.

It's cool to see a new series hitting the scene. But it is very sad to see another talent lost. I hope she rests in peace.

Good to know we're getting another series. I was afraid that the series would be shelved until Tri finished it's run.
That said, Xros Wars/Fusion was a mess, and I hope they improve things.

Knowing Toei's current animation style these days, I think the new season will probably look bad for the most part.

Looking bad is something Digimon is no stranger to, so it's not too problematic.

A lot of people didn't like how bad most of the animation in Sailor Moon Crystal and Dragon Ball Super. Digimon Fusion had decent animation. It was okay, but not awful like episode 5 in Dragon Ball Super.

Sora original voice actor passed away

A little late there, but yeah, it sucks.

And what makes it sadder, for me at least, is seeing the pictures of Sora in the articles reporting on her passing because it conjures imagery of a 10 year old girl's obituary. Which makes the passing of a rather prolific seiyu even more depressing.

Well just wrapped up Savers.

It was decent? It was decent. Maybe even good. Maybe.

Certainly had some Big Ideas when it came to the plot, and that was interesting enough. It was fine really.

But the characters...I don't know. It's nice that for once all the main characters reached the same level of evolution, but it ultimately didn't really make a difference. It's still by far the most lead-centric Digimon I've seen. (Digimon Savers more like Daimon Savers). Even Ikuto, who got a lot of focus for a little while, just got more and more sidelined the longer it went on. Probably the biggest problem with it would be that you could remove Yoshino from the show and not a single thing would change. Not one.

Hell, Chika was more memorable than Yoshino. This is the power of the Daimon clan. It was ultimately all about how awesome the Daimons were.

But Masaru is just not that interesting. Episode 1 Masaru and episode 48 Masaru are the same damn person.

Also the ending is kind of a huge cop out. I mean, it is appropriate that Daimon Jesus, uh, Suguru came back from the dead, but it's a total Yggdrasil ex machina regardless. It's kinda bullshit. And they never say if Leomon also came back. I mean...we never even saw him turn into an egg? They just forgot about him. What.

I dunno. I liked it enough I guess, it wasn't bad. They could have done so much more with the cast though.

Anyway, as an aside, it only got more and more weird with every passing episode that GeoGreymon is the way ever single episode starts when the last time he is seen in the show is like, episode 15 or so. The way they handled their evolutions in this show is...logical, but boring.

Everyone in the show is rather dull, I'll agree. The only thing that keeps the viewer interested (Well, for me, at least) is just the sheer curiosity over where the plot was going. Masaru as a fireball lead is so generic and overplayed that it actually made me realize how subdued Taichi and Davis were.
Tohma wasn't anything special, either, and while I had hoped that Yoshino would be the second coming of Ruki, she turned out to be even less effective than Mimi. It also seems like their partners were given basic personalities (Gaomon as Tohma's battle butler and Lalamon as a quiet observer) simply to place more emphasis on Masaru and Agumon (Also, while I doubt you can remember, I think Lalamon has the worst battle record for a main character, literally losing every fight as Lalamon and only winning once as Sunflowmon).

Savers didn't do much for me, really. After Kurata, things just didn't feel as cohesive, and I only finished it because I didn't want to give up on Savers for a 3rd time.

Oh, I definitely remember how terrible Lalamon performed. She basically never accomplished anything as Sunflowmon. Part of that being due to the fact that she only evolved like two times in the first 10 episodes or something...not great.

Well I'm one few liked xros wars. This is some thing new accuse I can see it being new digital world based in modern age of smart phones

I only seen the crossover episode of Xro Wars with the past characters returning. I have no idea what was going on but it was cool. I also take it that Digimon Fusion is dead since there is no word on Season 3.

I think Saban and Bandai did a bad job on marketing the show. I remember Fusion Season 1 didn't get any promotion on TV until the week before it air. Then the show was move to Nick Toons with even worst marketing.

Honestly I know I shouldn't but my simultaneous love of Digimon and shiny collectable things is making me kinda want some of these things already. Really like the designs of these Appmon.

They're still Digimon. They're monsters born from human technology/the internet and all that. You know. Digital monsters. The only thing that's changed is their name is different and the mechanics are somewhat different...as has been the case to differing degrees for literally every series since Adventure.

If we're comparing to KR orwhatever, I'd compare this complaint to ones about how the franchise isn't about bug cyborgs anymore than anything tbh.

How hard is it to just apply the digital pet thing to Smartphones? You now, have an app to raise the thing and let it fight against others? Sell toys with QR codes that give you access to new monsters or make the one you have stronger?

I don’t get why this needs to be about living apps that fuse, that’s not Digimon to me.

So yeah I already don’t like this.

Honestly the idea of "Appmon" feels like a natural evolution to the concept of Digimon.
