just marathoned ooo, 3rd watch of it and it still holds up. but by god, gotou SUCKS at birth, i am so happy date was there for most of the series

What?! I'm sorry but screw Date. I must be like the only person who never liked him and was incredibly pleased to see Gotou become Birth. And what do you mean he sucked? He completely rocked against the Greed the first time he even became Birth.

oh dont get me wrong that first henshin gotou rocked, but its the fact that HE DID NOTHING for the rest of the series except be a punching bag,

I must've been the only person who liked everyone in OOO. From Date, to Gotou, to Maki, to Kougami. Loved the entire cast.

I did love everybody. But I continuously see people gush over Date but Ive never understood why. He just doesnt strike me as remarkable or memorable. The show was building up Gotou, he's who I cared about being Birth.

Date was the perfect foil to Gotou. Cheery and laidback to Gotou's straight faced, serious demeanor.
And considering the previous series's only relief character was Akiko, a character like Date was a godsend.
Liking Date was easier than you think.

the entire cast in double were comedy relief except shotaro and phillip! but none were good at it!

They just had more comedic storylines.

Even though I still have only watched the first two episodes of Fourze, after hearing so much good things about it and remembering that I have all of it downloaded, I figured I'd give W a shot. And man, am I glad I did.

W is fucking amazing. While I'm only 15 episodes in, I love everything about this show. W's forms, the Dopant designs, the setting, everything in this is amazing.

Since I'll probably finish this very soon, what Rider show do you think I should check out next? Part of me is leaning towards finishing Fourze, while the other is leaning towards watching either Ryuki, OOO or Den-O.

I'd finish Fourze. It's a pretty good series in and of itself.

All three are good, but I'd also recommend Kuuga or Agito.

Ok guys...where should I go next? Kiva or Kabuto?

Kabuto is the better of the two, but both are kind of weak.

Kabuto is pretty weak plot wise. Good action and designs though. But Kiva has a great plot with better designs. Go with Kiva over Kabuto. Kabuto is enjoyable but it does kind of lose itself near the end.

Well...it's 2 out of 3...looks like I'm going Kiva.

I would never call Kiva's plot great. Kabuto's is weak, yes, but Kiva's is just as weak, albeit in different ways.

Kabuto. It's the better of the two series.

Speaking of which, I got through Blade 38 today. You guys are totally right, this is getting really interesting. The revelation that Hirose is Trial B totally caught me by surprise. Tachibana had better not be Trial A or something. And I'm genuinely surprised that they managed to keep Mutsuki an evil asshole this far into the show.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking of doing. I mean, I HAVE already started it. :p

I'll be sure to check those out, though I'll probably check out the ones I've got on my HDD first.

Anyways, watched episode 18 of W today and holy shit. Shit is getting real and people are dropping dead.

Yeah, I've always found that when you hit episode 30, Blade really grabs hold of you and will not let go. It just keep making you want to see more and more.

Kiva is awesome. It gets a little too melodrama-ry at times yeah, and emperor form is overused. But it has awesome designs, a good cast and good overall story.

Guess I'm saying its not perfect but it is stronger than Kabuto... And Decade and possibly more =p

I'd say Kiva is easily stronger plot & character wise than Faiz, Kaubto, and Decade. That's not to say I didn't enjoy Kabutp or Decade, I did enjoy them, and I outright hated Faiz. But Kiva is a much stronger series than those 3. Much more memorable.

A series' memorability is subjective. I found Kabuto to be more memorable than Kiva due to a more interesting cast, a less nondescript protagonist, and a story that doesn't completely 180 the characters' personalities and goals.

So Yaguruma and Kageyama don't count as 180's huh? :lol

The difference is they left the series for a brief amount of time.
Wataru went from crying pretty boy to Fangire King Badass Killer over the course of one episode, and Otoya went from lecherous womanizer to wanting to raise a family with the Fangire Queen over the course of an episode.

But they evolved that way. Wataru overcoming his shortcomings was a process that took the entire series to resolve. It's only in the closing story arc that he finally comes to grips with who and what he has to become. And Otoya fell in love, with 2 amazing women. He had to become something more than he was when the series began. These changes weren't instant like you say, they took time to occur. Maya's effect on Otoya and the various experiences that Wataru had that led him to depression and travelling to the past, these events were the final push for each of them.

Kiva the show, no. I think it's near the bottom, but there's at least one worse show: Faiz.

Kiva the character... technically no, if you count secondary Riders. Worst main Heisei Rider? Hell yeah. I'd take Shin over the whiny little emo fucktard that is Wataru.

And no, Kiva is not a better show than I give it credit for. It's a sloppily plotted, hole-filled mess with a lame protagonist, weak secondary Rider, and incredibly blatant and intrusive toy placements.

Gotta agree with Den-O, those changes had been building for a long time. We saw glimpses every now and then but they just needed that final kick..no pun intended..

I dunno, for me Kiva was just more interesting and engaging with the whole time gap thing. Plenty of enigma to keep me interested you know. Kabuto on the other hand was pretty straight forward.
