So! I've now ended up with 6 duplicate boxes from the Ryusoulger MiniPla line. I have all three boxes for Tyramigo, Triken, Ankyrose and DimeVolcano.

Would anyone be interested in these? It's basically all of set 02 without Tigerlance and Milneedle.

I don't need this many duplicates so looking to get a bit of cash back on them.

On a different note, the more I see of Ryusoul Gold, the more excited O get for set 03! It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun and I love the extra Dino mode combo with DimeVolcano! What are your thoughts on set 03?

I'm thinking set 3 will have mosarex and the two raptors along with a duplicate dimevolcano. A bit tempted to preorder after set 2 being my first minipla and having a lot of fun coming up with new combinations. But I'll wait for lineup confirmation.

I think it will be only kishiryu Neptune in this set. A 5 part for a complete robot would not be a surprise. I don't think that dimevolcano will be again in the set. We should have pictures for the set soon now.

I'm confused. How many Kishiryu Mini-pla assortments are there?

So far two sets have been released.

Set 01 came with Tyramigo, Triken and Ankyrose.

Set 02 has just arrived today, for me at least, and comes with Tyramigo, Triken, Ankyrose, Tigerlance, Milneedle and Dimevolcano.

Set 03 has been listed for a while and will be released in a week or so, and the listing on AmiAmi has changed to say that it will contain Mosarex and DimeVolcano.

Set 04 is up for preorder and is set to contain the movie exclusive mech, which is a lovely black and gold recolour of Kishiryu-Oh.

A lot of duplicates between the first three sets.

I didn't noticed the name change. It is quite unexpected to see so many duplicates in only 3 sets.
I wonder how they plan to release the remaining toys that will be released after the movie (raptors and pachigaroo). Will there be more duplicates ?

To be honest that's a bit of a concern for me. I never realised before how many duplicates there were, though I'm guessing this is a rarity rather than the rule?

I'm probably gonna keep pre-ordering, though I may try to hold off in future until more details are released. I don't want to miss out on any mech, but having duplicates of 6 boxes within the first three releases is a little bit rubbish.

BUT! I am enjoying the build of the sets and the fun of them so it's a trade off that is kind of working for me :)

Hard to say what is really the rule. If you look over the last years, it happens even if is quite rare. Even the core "Good Striker" of last year robot was not released twice in a set. For ryusoulger, set 1 and 2 are interesting to have 3 knight and 5 knight. Sure if you were looking to do only one of those that is boring. But as future release will need a tyramigo too, and given how they started , does this mean that this year will have waves of duplicates ?

It's possible :/ think I will have to be less trigger happy on the preorders if that is the case. I also don't think there is a need for multiples, though that could just be me. I don't really want to build the EXACT same mold and colour more than once. And I don't feel the need to display the same thing in different forms, like having Three Knights and Five Knights on display together

Rumors talks about KamiRyuOh, that should be a big robot (like orion or dodekaioh), and other auxiliary (dolphin/sea lion)
We should have catalog info at the beginning of next month (not for minipla but for the DX, it could give hints on how things will be released then)
I don't think there will be tyramigo again (but of course I may be wrong ! like for set 2 or dimevolcano with set 3)
I understand your opinion about having only one form (eventually I will have three knight and five knight but not the alternative three knight (triken and ankylose))

Actually a very good question. What are they even hands for? I remember LuPat had some random bonus pieces which allowed the So-Do figures to use the Minipla vehicles (namely Blade) as weapons but that was a thing in the show and I can't think of anything here.

I have the Shogun set! Sadly, not built yet, but I'm really looking forward to building it. It looks amazing and the individual bots look spectacular :) I also really want to get the other two sets at some point haha

I really hope that the Ryusoulger mech get some sort of bug combo in the end, using all the parts. It's a little odd that the combinations so far don't use all the parts, other than Three Knights. BUT!!! The fact that the style of combination allows you to use the parts in multiple ways, means that even if they don't come up with some big combo, it's easy to build your own :) looking forward to building set 02 :)

Looks like we have a few "spare" pieces in the bottom left, a new head for Kishiryu-oh, a red ryusoul (to ride tyramigo probaby), hands for Kishiryu-oh(?), ammoknuckles, and the head for Kishiryu Neptune.

Ok that looks pretty good :) very excited for this next set! Really like Kishiryu Neptune's debut and I'm looking forward to the Water/Fire combo too :D

Well, I got my Jet Icarus today. Haven't put it together yet. I'm half tempted to wait until I can get more panel lining markers. In everybody else's experience, is panel lining easier before or after assembly? How about top coating? I've been trying to put more effort into making these models since they're something I want to keep for a while, but I'm not really sure what to do.

Also, what is the best way to go about getting past minipla kits? I'd like to get Daizyujin and Dragon Caesar, as well as maybe the lupat or ninninger stuff?

It looks like the face on that replacement head is a separate piece. It seems kind of weird to do that, then have a normal sticker face, for the other head.

I have some minipla that I was keeping (I was thinking of trying to paint them, but I don't think I will have time and the skill to do it) and I intend to sell them.

As YokuRyuoh will be released in october I think it should the release date...

set 6 should be YokuryuOh
set 4 is probably the raptors and pachygaroo

the minipla seem to come out a while after the DX to avoid too much internal competition.

I expect 2 set at most. But as they released dimevolacno as part of other set, I think they could release the raptor as port of another set.
Last year magic, splash, victory striker, siren striker and lupin magnum where released together (no set) at the same time that the last item in DX form was released (didn't rember which, a striker I think)

Set 4 will be kishiryujin even if we don't have real info yet, august release means movie robot (it has been the for some years now, and they don't do set for movie release...)
Set 5 has been on catalog list, but it seems that the only set announced so far. But usually catalog release only show DX toys, minipla release information only came with preorders opening on amiami (and such). So it is difficult to say if they are doing this like last year (an EX release with all remaining things to release) or like kyuranger (several waves like set 6 and 7 at that time).
As september has already a release, it could mean that it will release in october (that is yokuryuoh release date).
The strange thing for now is that there is no SP at this moment (it have may sold less last year and drop it, and do it as a reward only this year ?)

The next super minipla super sentai series is sun vulcan. Sun vulcan robot and Jaguar vulcan will be released. No info for now, I don't think that it will be before january.
I expect jaguar vulcan to be a premium bandai release only too.
We should should have info on this when info will be posted on the blog (with some prototype pictures as well).

The hands are for KishiRyuOh. Just more expressive, not sure why they're red though (black would be screen accurate and there is a black mold in that box) [whoops, ninjad]

Those spare pieces are pretty neat, extra connectors for the peg systems allows for even more combos

Anyways, can somebody fill me in on how the standard minipla releases work? I've only ever purchased super minipla, but I wouldn't mind picking up some ryusoulger stuff.

It is a premium bandai release exclusive release. It opened in january for a release in june.
They did a rerelease for all gaogaigar release a few week ago, but no word for the same thing for sentai super minipla for the moment.

It is released by set. Expect around 5 or 6 set each season (februarymarch, may, arounf july, august for the movie exclusive, october). Usually a set is either a complete robot or some auxiliaries (power up for the main robot)
they do a complete set or a box (the one you will find in japan supermarket with several copie of each part of the set) that can be bought on any japan webstore that sell oversea (the complete set is not always available).
No tools needed to complete the minipla. You can apply the sticker that is or paint it if you have some skill.
There are no official planning for future release (it is usually a preorder that open on webstores that give some informations, and also pictures at the beginning of the month when a set is released)

According to AmiAmi, set 2 is being re-released. Also you don't have to preorder normal sets as they are retail releases and most shops will get more than the preorder.
