On the topic of Arrow, I'll just say it, it's easily one of the best shows on Television right now. Forget Walking Dead (which I hate for reasons I won't get into here), forget Game of Thrones, forget Agents of SHIELD, etc etc. Arrow is where it's at. These two seasons alone have compromised a wider and more fleshed out DC Universe than anything else DC has EVER made aside from the DCAU. It is superb.

Arrow is good, but sorry, I don't think it is better than Game of Thrones.

Ugh, this states everything wrong with DC currently:
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansit...news/?a=100521 "When Goyer was approached about adapting the character for film he harshly criticized the character, implying that Martian Manhunter was too obscure for the general audience. “How many people in the audience have heard of Martian Manhunter?” "He can’t be [frick]ing called the Martian Manhunter because that’s goofy." http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...a-facepalm.png |
So I just finished the Mirror portion of the opening Batgirl trade and was confused, but also pleasantly surprised, that they just slapped on two more issues on the end involving another villain.
I really liked Mirror, he had a lot of depth for someone who wasn't really given a whole lot to actually do and although the arc was really short and not all that Earth shattering, that is almost a gift in itself these days. No need for the story to go on longer than it needs, no need to push it into every book currently exists or is going to exist because of this. I can't remember the last time I read something so direct and no-nonsense from comics. Minus the wacky pacing, my only real issue is with the art. Dynamic action poses look fine, action flows well but usually when it comes to non costumed stuff it feels like they rushed those panels through to put more time into the action panels, which may very well be the case. But as this is a Simone book there is a lot of time spent on character, so there are a LOT of awful looking panels of characters sat in barely realised locations, whose faces change every panel. And it clashes as in the next scene we have a decently drawn, dynamic pose of Batgirl swinging through Gotham. |
Oh shit double post forgive me, I dunno why that happened.
