True, but that literally was only with the villains. Golgom and Shocker had those elements, and they still pop up even in modern rider (like with Asmodeus in Senki) but Rider itself never portrays those as heroic.

Ya know it would be easier if toy catalogs hadn't gone off the rails on us, we'd know what we're dealing with in new numerous KRs.
Seeing T-Rex motif of Revi & Vice, will there be a triceratops? a pteranodon? stegosaurus? brachiosaurus? ankylosaurus? parasaurolophus? Anything to introduce all kinds of dinosaurs into the series like Dinosaur King & Dinozaurs! And those "ViStamps", seem odd choices for key items. Like what kinds of stamps will they introduce? |
The impression I get from what we've heard so far is that Vice might represent Ikki's "id". In other words, his most basic and primal instincts manifested into a physical form. Vice has been described as being comedic and hotheaded, and it's also been said that Revi has to step in and reign him in, which gives me the impression that he might be a more serious character (as opposed to say, Aruto or Touma) and might represent the "Superego". It even makes sense looking at their suit designs. Vice has a wild and savage look, while Revi is more streamlined and tech-y. Plus the main locale for the show is apparently a Genetic Research facility, so it wouldn't surprise me if Ikki is meant to be fairly intelligent.
And there's FOR SURE going to be an upgrade form where they both merge that's simply called "Kamen Rider Revice". |

Now that the dust's settled...
Revi and Vice look great! Pretty sure we are getting an Ultraman R/B situation here, heck the synopsis has a focus on family. Also, I remember someone on the "Create your own Kamen Rider" thread pitch a two Riders as the Main Rider. Imagine that overlap! (Though your idea was pretty cool, if you're reading this.) I'm curious to see what their forms look like. The story sounds like a classic Showa style story, very reminiscent of early Kamen Rider. It's also giving me Akumaizer 3 vibes, which I'm loving. I don't follow too much on Japanese writers and such, aside what I hear from other people, but it's exciting to see how someone fresh to Tokusatsu handles this season. Either way, everything looks great! |
