I don't use a screen protector on mine, as normally there is little reason or benefit to using it as a touch screen device. At least from my experience.

I guess I'll ignore it after a while, like I do with my garish iphone one. Still can't stand it on new systems. :P

After hemming and hawing about what starter I was going to pick, I went in blind and picked Fennikin the fox. Great game so far but I kind of get the weird vibe the towns are a little smaller maybe because I'm so early in the game. And an in-game Pikachu that actually says "PIKA" kind of made me grin a little. Long time coming that.

I went to the midnight release at my local Gamestop, I saw one of my classmates form my ceramics class, so we stood in line together. So, I've been playing Y for the past 2 hours or so, and I really like it. I was hoping that the movement would have more directions, not just six way, but it's ok. It just takes some getting used to (though, it's rather stiff when walking), but running or skating is much smoother. The battles and animations all look gorgeous. I picked Fennekin. Also, the soundtrack is really good. I like how they stopped using the semi-chiptuney songs, and instead they're using orchestral songs, with some electronic music and electric guitars thrown in for good measure. I really like the trainer battle theme.

They were also giving away hats, so enjoy this picture of me looking like a total dork. :lol

the torchic gets exp boost and you get exp share after the first gym so levelling up is so easy.

Been hunting for a male litleo for nearly 2 hours on route 22... No luck yet, did find a riolu though =D

I love how EXP is gained even after a battle with a wild Pokemon results in a capture. Great way not to waste too much effort and for levelling. But damn...no Move Pokemon function on the PC....that...that kind of bites.

There is a move Pokemon function on the pc it is now called organize boxes or that seems to do the same thing as move Pokemon from the previous games.

I use them, there's like two hairs on the bottom screen of mine and i can't get the protector off too remove it.

Just about to challenge to sixth gym leader. Hardest gym for me so far was the second gym.
Oh and I got the game from a local shop on Thursday just in case anyone was wondering how I got so far so fast. Also I picked Chespin and he has evolved to his final evolution now.

I know this will end up being a dumb question but how do you get the EXP share to work?. I went into my bag and turned it on but only my top pokemon seems to get Exp.

Just a question for you guys, do you leave the 3D on or off? I notice it lags a bit with 3D on.

I leave 3D off unless it's a cutscene, because their is really no need for it to be on all the times.. Plus you would have to play like a stone, because if you move at a certain angle the 3D would just look weird, and some time hurts your eyes.

Also really, really surprised that Gamestop still had the special 3DSXL's in stock. Almost bought one when picking up my preorder, buuuut just can't afford it right now. Which is a shame because I've now seen them and they are indeed beautiful.

Just beat the first gym, i was on the red when i beat her it was hard. :lol

The gym was tough for me because I did not realize I could not escape to heal before the battle! Once I was in, I could not get out.

Nevertheless it was a refreshing experience because it was the most challenging gym I've fought in a while. I wonder if the other gyms are like that.

Yeah it's a nice contrast to the gen 5 Gyms, those gyms were incredibly easy but this one actually took a few tries.

My lord is it taking me forever to get a decently natured Fennekin.

I just got a Modest one that I'm happy with. Named him (and was afraid it'd be a she when I finally got a good nature lol) Kurama.

What is this about natures? I just picked one. I never thought I'd be able to become a Pokémon noob again.

Oh I've never really bothered with the number game side of things, so I'm not too concerned about this.

X and Y is simply Fabuloso!

It can have an influence on how you perform in the normal game, though... Get a Pokémon that has a lot of special attacks and has good base speed (as I assume Fennekin will be), but its nature lowers speed or special attack or even its defenses if those aren't high... and you won't be dishing out the damage you expect or be taking bigger hits than you can handle. It's not as big of an impact, but it is there.

Is that why pokémon like excadrill can soak up and dish out enough damage to take on pokémon like ten levels higher than it, and win?

Excadrill has really high base attack and decently high base HP, which is probably the reason for that. (Unless it's your own Excadrill, in which case it could have a good nature that has raised its stats even more. Generally natures don't matter unless they're yours during regular gameplay.)

I really did hate Excadrills in B/W...

No, Excadrill can do that because it's broken like a motherfucker.
Seriously. In competitive battling, he was bumped up to Uber rank (Basically all the Legendaries and Speed Boost Blaziken) because it was too fucking good.

This is the fastest i've ever evolved my starter in any game to date. :lol

Its very weird that every other Pokemon just "talks" in minimal audio clips but Pikachu has an actual voice.

Yellow had Pikachu use an actual voice.

And I find it more odd Raichu and Pichu don't follow suit.

I got to a hair dresser and changed my characters hair. And then i spent a good amount of time making my PR video that i lost track of time. :lol
