What if we have sentai villains inspired from Marvel villains ?

Why can't we have a dinosaur season without the red ranger's mecha being a Tyrannosaurus?

I think having villains or MOTWs inspired by Marvel and DC is a great idea. Insane pool to draw from.

What I want is a fantasy Super Sentai inspired by video game RPGs, either Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, or Diablo. The Rangers could fit into traditional RPG classes and the villains could draw from specific monsters or characters from a particular game. I've lost so, so many hours of my life to those three series alone....

I'm just in need of examples, because "Big" solo villains like Dr. Doom and Thanos are so stereotypical that I'm pretty sure Sentai has already done villains like them (I can't cite examples personally because Sentai has a long history and I've seen, like, 9 series, so I'm just making an assumption), while KR basically has organizations like Hydra and AIM down with groups like Shocker and the failed Foundation X...

There's actually an episode of Ninninger where they go into an RPG. They each choose a character class and fight turn-based battles against the monsters. It's pretty spectacular, actually.

Having an entire series based around the concept would be interesting. Of course, I don't mean an entire series with turn-based battles, but one where the team is made up of fantasy classes like you described.

Does no one remember the spiderman season toei did? They draw from marvel villains all the time. Superpowered evil scientist and superpower 3d monsters are the norm across every season.

Well, that series and Battle Fever J (which was originally supposed to be a Captain America series) were both co-produced by Marvel, so it makes sense.

This ratchets up my interest in Ninninger tenfold.

I love the series, but it's not without its faults. There's a lot of filler, the villains are all under-developed except for one, and the plot isn't very strong. There were a couple of plot threads that could have led to something interesting but ultimately went nowhere. However, the suits and action are both excellent, the character development is interesting, and some of the episodes are just straight up fun. The RPG episode is one of my favorite Sentai episodes.

It's not a perfect Sentai, so you probably won't be floored by it, but the positives outweighed the negatives for me.

Or how Battle Fever J was co-produced by Marvel? Battle Japan & Co were, during the show's early development, called Captain Japan (etc) and were supposed to be official, international analogues of Captain America.

I agree, though, that a lot (most?) of sentai's bad guys are already riffs on familiar American super villain archetypes.

One way I could see this idea being fun is if each of a season's villain generals were oblique references to a specific super hero's rogues gallery. Sort of like how the Kyoryuger's generals are references to Wizard of Oz. It might be fun to see a bad guy team made up of a killer clown, a woman dressed like a cat, a man with one side of his face burnt off, a green guy based on question marks, etc... (though designed distinctly enough to avoid copyright infringement :lol).

Should the Sixth Ranger of Zyuohger being Alien or Human?

I wonder if the HUMAN Sixth Ranger will be funny one like Shinken Gold or if they want Zyuohger to be a Timeranger-type group since Zyuohger is 40th anniversary of Super Sentai, he could be a loner-type like Time Fire

Does anybody have any close-up imagine of Zyuoh Eagle's helmet? Preferrably from the side. I'm trying to put together a cosplay but I can't really find any good pics of the helmet, especially the chin section.

When does the Rider vs Sentai special usually come out? For Ninninger/Drive it was about 7 episodes in, wasn't it? Is it usually that early?

The Spring Break Special that Toqger & Gaim and Ninninger & Drive did? Those were both at the end of March.

Yeah, those are meant to (very poorly) tie into the Taisen movies, which release at the end of March. They only started doing it with ToQger/Gaim, so there's too small a sample size so far to say with complete certainty, but if there is a crossover between Ghost and Zyuohger it should be in March (it was after episode 5/6 for Sentai).

'Course, this year it's sort of an if, seeing as how there's no crossover movie to tie such a crossover to, as Kamen Rider Ichigou is just a Rider movie from what we know. They'll probably still do it cause Super Hero Year and all, but who knows. We'll find out soon in either case, I imagine.

Could be that they may postpone it in case there is some sort of actual Rider/Sentai crossover movie later in the year, though...Just speculating though.

Haha I forgot that they've only done two so far. I hope they do Zyuohger vs Ghost though, at least in some form.

Are there any decent Super Sentai podcasts out there? Wouldn't mind listening to a good discussion of each Zyuohger episode a few days after each one airs, or a more general Sentai-focused podcast in general.

The Low Visibility podcast that's now hosted by Tokusatsu Network is the only one I really like. Unfortunately, all their archives have been deleted and only one episode is available.

Will Zyuohger be better than Ninninger in term of character and story-wise or plot twist

Zyuohger doesn't have the best toy stuff or gorgeous looking mecha but can have a great story-wise or character-wise

First for all, Yamato is NOT SCREAMING FOOL like Daigo, Right and Takaharu

He is a Zoologist who study or specialize on Animals, Think Yamato as Chris Pratt from Jurassic World, Great Movie! :)

Ninninger have 2 plot twist that is Kyuemon turn out to be the son of Gengetsu which they never hint at and Yoshitaka was dead all along (I'm not sure if people knew Yoshitaka was dead all along)

Kyoryuger's Plot Twist was the Earth's Melody turn out to be theme song of Kyoryuger all along, LAME!!! :mad:

So how Zyuohger will have much better plot twist

My problem with Kyoryuger is that they forgot of how to contrast Sixth Ranger from Kyoryuger

I told you before, This show doesn't have the impressive toy but can make a great show! And that's bottom line because Stone Cold said so

If you're watching a Sentai that hasn't caught your attention, how long do you usually last before you stop watching? For me, it's usually around the 6 episode mark that I fall off.
