The Zenkaiger Yu-Do are split across 9 boxes. 2 for each Kikanoid robot form.

I would love a Yu-Do chronicle, but Bandai may just be focusing on SHODO with how well those sets sold. I think SHODO is a better fit for Sentai too, with the soft plastics and prepainted parts.

Yeah, but that's because Juran, Gaon and Vroon are a VERY big exception to how Sentai rangers usually go in terms of how much volume they have to cover. Every other Sentai ranger covered by YU-DO so far have been done in one box, which even extends to Magine in this line (pretty impressive given her wings).

You'd need a couple of boxes for some characters for sure -- Gingaman's Black Knight comes to mind, as does Boukenger's Zubaan and perhaps Carranger's Signalman. But the vast vast majority of cases would be as simple as YU-DO's usual fare -- one box each, with an extra accessory box for all their weapons.

I only have Shocker Rider, so unfortunately there's no shoulder pad joint to check, sorry.

For the Shodo with shoulder pads, it depends on the design and what you want to do with them. They're made of soft PVC and push out of the way as needed. The more open the shoulder pad, the better. The early shoulder pads are pretty limiting, but the designs have improved greatly over the years. In recent years, the collar that the pads are attached to are not glued down as much making it easier to get out of the way and reset. As long as you're not wanting to put their arms above their head, you can get a good range out of most of them without problem. Leaving them in a pose that bends the pads for a long time may cause them to never fully reset, but most poses don't need to bend them enough that it's that noticeable.

Almost a fair price too! Those box sets should really be no more than $60.

Candy toys are a nightmare to import to the US due to all the restrictions and regulations. For example, if the item has any form of consumable in it at all (ie: the little piece of candy/gum in candy toys) it must be transported via refrigerated storage at the freight level.

Yeah, for just a few extra dollars per figure, I'd totally buy these.

Thinking of getting the P-Bandai Trychaser 2000 and Gouram set to complete the Kuuga collection before I finally watch the last 10 or so episodes. Don't want to spend too much, but also would rather not deal with Japanese shipping costs for just one item, so does anyone know approximate how big the box size Mandarake would use for just that item, so I can try and see if I can fit anything else in without bumping to the next box size tier?

Mandarake's DHL has been surprisingly cheap the last year. Just earlier this month I made a fairly big order with a PB set (one that should be about the same size as the Kuuga one), an entire wave of Shodo-O, and a few single SO-DOs. Shipping was somehow 1,770 yen. And that's the highest it has been in a long time.

Unfortunately, that ended up not being the case. Got the Kuuga set, a loose Gashat, and the new SIC Kuuga. Shipping was about 6000 yen. Apparently I messed up my math in calculating box sizes, and SIC packages are bigger than I realized. Oh well, it's not worth trying to cancel the order, I'd rather not take the risk of pissing off Mandarake unless I absolutely cannot afford to pay. Just gotta double check my math next time

Both coming in Book 7, and that's it for today! The blog has some info on the exact detailing and molding of these two compared to what the suits have been modified from (I think, my brain is not in the right gear to interpret GT right now), but no massive surprises.

They're just driving ahead with the reveals for Wave 7, because they're promising more news on it next week AND just revealed two more figures for it tonight -- ZAIA and MBJR! They have the Thousanjacker and Attache Arrow respectively, with the latter actually being in a new fourth configuration for SO-DO: the arrow drawn plus a progrise key inserted. ZAIA, it turns out, isn't a straight recolour because he features new leg and arm parts! Huh!

So, yeah; 4/6 of this wave revealed already. Make your bests on who we'll see next week!

Saber TV-Kun should be, well, a TV-Kun exclusive as usual; and I'm absolutely expecting Falchion and Emotional to be the last two figures in Wave 7 before we get Sabela, Durandal and a Gatriker in Wave 8 alongside whatever new forms happen by then. Going by ZAIA and MBJR here, I don't think we'll see the new Vulcan and Valkyrie forms until their movie actually debuts; and finally, I could totally see Dragon Arthur being part of some sort of accessory pack given how it works; similar to Jin's wings.

If that does end up being the case with Dragon Arthur I thankfully have a spare body from the first wave.

So, being completely honest?

Next week we're promised more news on Wave 7.

But next week is also the 50th anniversary.

I could see them doing a SO-DO CHRONICLE line of Showa figures, or something else to commemorate it. I can't see this going by without them doing something a little special, or at the very least a new CHRONICLE line unveiling.

Also, the stickers on MBJR are going to be a complete pain in the butt, not only those he have all of the wrap-around parts of the other riders, he also has huge stickers on his chest and his shins.

Yeah MBJR is definitely one of the worst SO-DO we've had recently. Another Decade is still the reigning champion of worst stickers.

Build Genius was pretty rough, but it was still paintable.

It is pretty bad, but understandable from what they say on the blog -- they just had no better way to get all those details on there. Definitely unfortunate!

Book 7 was delayed (not releasing until May now), so don't expect anything in that. Maybe something Chronicle and/or Shodo. Constantly see anniversary series suggested for Chronicle (Like Fourze, Ghost, and Kabuto), so maybe one of them (Fourze's the one I see most though and it would fit). Not sure what Shodo would do, maybe the Rider 1 movie suit and bike or something.

Do you know what your final total weight was? Unless the box is oversized, the pricing for FedEx and DHL are largely based on shipping weight.

I thought EMS was by weight and DHL was by size. Weight would definitely up the cost a bit. The So-Do and Gashat were pretty light, but SIC Kuuga was 1223 grams, so that'd do it.

Stickered up the Kuuga Rising forms set. They look fantastic. Unfortunately, on my favorite Rising form, Rising Titan, I fucked up most of his chest stickers. My sisters big into doll customization, I think I'll ask her if she has any idea if she could fix it with paint.

Truth be told, it's a pretty nice wave! X-Swordman has grown on me a fair bit, Saikou Shadow is pretty fun; and the accessory packs are REALLY cool -- even as someone who doesn't have a Zero-One SO-DO stuff like the wings are things I can use for anything for fun. Lucifer and Saber Armour are definitely things I could care less about, but they at least have cool accessories to their name too!

Was browsing HLJ for a few things because I need to get a shipment from them soon, and I found out that they have SHODO-O Wave 2 -- that's Apollo Geist, Horse Orphnoch, Ouja and Ryuga & Dragblacker. I think these guys are a bit hard to come by these days? But HLJ just has this entire wave sitting their in stock at retail price, so. If anyone was wanting them!

They also have some random Zi-O SODO waves, as well as the first waves of Gaim and Den-O, and Kuuga's second wave. I don't know if any of those are hard to come by; SODO in comparison seems to be easier to find on the aftermarket?
