Interesting. Production started today for series 9 and there have already been rumors of perhaps Sea Devils (yay!) and K-9 (double yay!). It could be bunkum, but now that I think of it I would love to see Capaldi and K-9.

I hope they do the Sea Devils better justice than the Silurians.

I actually felt that Silurians were done really poorly in the modern era as well. That introduction episode was just awful. Sea Devils could be a nice change of pace as long as they aren't completely glazed over like the Zygons.

But the possibility of K-9 with Capaldi? Sign me the hell up!

I'd have probably liked it better if they were another race and not actual Silurians. I wish they'd gone with this design. Darn budget issues.

Wonder how they'll play K-9 though? A brand new MK or a way of addressing Sladen's death in-show?

With the open-ended finale of SJA, I sort of hope that they don't make reference to Sladen's passing. Silly as it sounds, I'd like to believe that in the world of the show she and the gang are still out there fighting the good fight in Ealing.

Agreed, and after the mixed reception to the Brig's death I don't know if Moffat is the right person to do it either.

Which season would you guys recommend a Dr.Who newbie like me? I watched a few eps of the Matt Smith run but would like to hear from you guys regarding where to start.

I'd suggest either Rose, which is the first episode of the 'reboot' of the series, or some of Tennant's best. Like Tooth and Claw, School Reunion, Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead. Then the Eccelson episode Dalek is still one of my favorites.

Rose is a good place to start. Starting with classic Who might be a shock to the system. I think most of the post-2005 episodes are still on Netflix.

my Netflix list says Doctor Who is being removed on February 4th.

It looks like deaf actress Sophie Stone will be in series 9. Rumor has it that she's in more than one episode, as folks are saying Paul Kaye is.

It's probably because Hulu Plus seems to be going all-in on Doctor Who. It has the entirety of the modern series and about 90% of the classic. I'm guessing Hulu is paying to be the sole streaming option.

I would be surprised if it actually disappears. This wouldn't be the first time something got renegotiated before it actually gets pulled.

Looks as though two-parters are back. According to Moffat, the currently being filmed episodes three and four are a two-parter by Toby Whithouse.

Wooh!! Those are usually some of the best in the series, and this guy did School Reunion and a Town Called Mercy. This should be good (or at least better than some other two parters we've got)

Well, Doctor Who's on Pointless (Actors form the New Christmas Specials up to "The Time Of the Doctor"), so if anyone wants to try, I'll tell you what you got.
