I've never stopped watching. There are some I've enjoyed less, but I don't think I've ever considered stopping a Sentai. There are other shows I haven't been too sure of, but I've stuck with every live-action Japanese show I've started and always ended up glad I did.

Most of the time, I don't consciously stop watching a show, I just never end up watching the next episode - and it usually happens around episode 6.

I think the only one I purposely stopped was Kyoryuger, but even then I intend to go back at some point.

I definitely take on too many seasons of shows at once and some sit there for a long time. Ultraman Mebius has actually been stuck at episode 6 for I don't know how long. While that is partly due to not feeling it as much as other shows, it's also partly due to getting licensed. At the very least, it feels less convenient not knowing if I could download it or how easily I could watch it.

I guess 6 is the episode I usually stop at, because of my 5 episode litmus test.
That said, most Sentai I start I usually finish anyway, eventually.
3 have failed at the 5 episode mark (ToQ, Nin, and Sun Vulcan), while 2 others have made it further, but I just dropped out of boredom (Shinken) or average disinterest (Liveman).

Of the 5 Sentai that I gave up on, only one of them I didn't intentionally drop (Liveman, which kind of just kept falling further and further on the back burner).

That's actually kind of happening to me with Liveman right now. I just don't feel the drive to keep watching more.

It probably is partly because I have to download each episode before watching it, and that is becoming a bit of a pain lol

I was a little back and forth on Liveman. I thought maybe it was just too old for my taste, as Jetman was the oldest I'd seen. I hadn't watched it in a little while (or much of any toku), but I jumped back at the beginning of the year with episode 18.

I've really enjoyed it since then, though I'm only up to 23. I've put it on semi-hold, because I need to finish Ohranger. (I don't want to end up with the last few episodes left only to have them pulled if it gets licensed.)

Should Zyuoh the World be HARDCORE Loner-type?

Most 2010s Sentai have 3 comic relief sixth ranger and 2 loner sixth ranger

Goseiger got Gosei Knight who is like Robo Cop and is not caring like other Goseiger but he is NOT HARDCORE enough

Gokaiger got Gokai Silver who is SUPER SENTAI FANBOY and get excited when he get to meet Sentai Veterans

Go-Busters doesn't sixth ranger as Beet and Stag Buster are more Gouraigers

Kyoruger got Kyoryu Gold who have problems with Womens, NOT HARDCORE enough

ToQger got ToQ 6Gou who is a former Shadow Line Kaijin who is atoner for committed the "Great Crime" by ruined everyone's day with RAIN. While he is more mature than other ToQgers, He have some funny moments so he is NOT HARDCORE material

Ninninger got Starninger who is Stereotypical AMERICAN Cowboy who love to take Selfies with Yokai, He talk funny

Zyuoh the World need to be HARDCORE LONER-TYPE

When I say HARDCORE, I means Zyuoh the World need to be DragonRanger, Time Fire and Abare Killer! He must DESTROYED Zyuohgers with no flaw

We hasn't got HARDCORE LONER SIXTH RANGER! Have him ruthlessly beat up Yamato like of he was HULK

Let make it HARDER for Zyuohgers since Deathgaliens are doing NOTHING to hurt Zyuohger!

We need Sixth Ranger who start out as a big threat to Zyuohger and don't have turn good NEXT Episode

Have him join Zyuohgers in 10 or 15 episodes later

I really have my doubts that Ohranger would see an official release soon.
With Kakuranger coming out, I think the earliest release for Ohranger would be 2017.

I don't expect an immediate Ohranger release, though I'd rather not chance it--or dawdle so much that it comes to that, anyway.

I think it's possible. Zyuranger was February of last year and Dairanger was last October. If they're selling well I bet they'd like to have Ohranger out before Christmas.

...although my personal preference would be Jetman. Whatever. I'll take whatever I can get.

I still think that Jetman will come before Ohranger. They'll have released all three source seasons for MMPR, which is the main source of nostalgia in the franchise. However, Zeo isn't really a fondly remembered series (at least from what I can tell) and Ohranger almost killed Sentai. Shout! has expressed interest in releasing the pre-Zyu seasons, so it seems like a perfect time to start...so why not go one series before Zyuranger to one of the most highly praised series in Sentai?

That's my theory, anyways. Whether or not that actually happens, who knows.

Zeo's a pretty well received season, the issue is that it comes in between MMPR and Turbo so it isn't very popular. And the Ohranger killing Sentai is a myth, Ohranger had the highest toy sales for any Sentai ever.

I wouldn't mind Jetman considering I'm a fan of it, but it would make more sense to go in order from Kaku.

Do you think Zyuohger can make a great storyline despite of their mecha not being gorgeous-looking

I means how did Yamato was able to transform into Zyuohger despite Tusk states that Zyuoh Changer doesn't work for a human. I don't buy his "Humans are Animals too" comment. There's an explanation around him transform into Zyuohger

There's a mystery around Yamato and his connection to the mysterious Bird Man

We don't know much about Bird Man so that why I want to know of why Bird Man stole one of Cube for? What does he need it for? What is his plan!

That's why I want to keep watching Zyuohger until we finally find out about this because his actor is Kaixa! Could Bird Man be the final villain? Maybe...

But it had the lowest ratings in the series up until Go-Busters.

However it didn't really kill Sentai. It may have shocked the system and caused a change of tone (for good reasons), but it was more or less Turbo and Five that really did the damage since they didn't perform well at all. Jetman was the supposed last one, and then Zyu since Jet did well and so on and so forth.

I never said it did kill it, just that it almost did...due to extremely low ratings.

My whole point is that this seems like the perfect chance for them to go back and do jetman next. Instead of releasing one of the lowest-rated in the series, release one of the highest-rated.

Plus I don't think Ohranger's show quality was ever the issue. If it were, say, the 1993 Sentai it could have done pretty well but the tone of the show killed its ratings not because it was too dark for kids, but because Aum Shinryko executed a terrorist attack on Japanese subways and with that being the biggest attack on Japan since getting nuked in WWII, a more edgy Sentai about a serious invasion about Killer Space Robot Armies went over as well in Japan at the time as an all-day Die Hard marathon on AMC would have gone over in America on September 12, 2001.

Unfortunate time really was what hurt it.

Since most of Black Ranger's personality-wise are mostly rival, I would say Zyuoh TheWorld will be different than Starninger in term of personality that's my guess

The unfortunate timing also caused them to re-write the show, leading to a wildly inconsistent tone...and that certainly didn't help lol.

Anyways, I like the black color. It has a bit of silver mixed in too (if I'm remembering correctly) which makes it look even cooler. I really like the helmet design, not sure about the chest. Guess we'll wait and see?

As for the rival thing, good. My favorite 6th ranger is still Burai, so it'd be cool to see something like that. (side note, if anybody could point me towards similar 6th rangers, that'd be cool)

We're two episodes in. There very well may be a connection that we don't know about yet.

During Episode 1, Bird Man was seen holdig the Sixth King's Credentials Cube and thus 4 Zyumans was unable to return to Zyuland without the Sixth King's Credentials Cube

Giving those King's Credentials Cube granted 4 Zyuman a Human Form but since Bird Man is holding the Sixth one, Do you there a possibility that he's not only become a Zyuohger but granted him a human form

I think Genis (Genus? Zynis?) probably will be the final boss. He's established as an aloof non-combatant, but powerful enough that tokens "made from his cells" can make other Dethgaliens turn giant-size. I think he'll be like Chimatsuri Doukoku in Shinkenger - he sits around most of the time, but is a ****in' MONSTER once he's forced to take the stage.

Nah, they're gonna use a continue on some dead guy and he'll show up for the last 3 episodes and be utterly generic and lead to a disappointing payoff.

Uh, random thought: could the Moebas in Zyuohger refer not only to amoebas, but also MOBAs? We know that the Dethgaliens have an arcade game theme, so is it possible that their foot soldiers are named after the genre of computer game? I know Japan isn't exactly a hotbed of League, Dota, or Heroes the way Korea and China are, but... maybe it's an oblique reference?
