In SO-DO news, despite the absolute tease of Ghost in the tumbnail, it's not ORE WA TENKUUJI TAKERU. It's Falchion! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0402020141.jpg Here he is with the ancient GanGunAction Ghost, because they're both orange. https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0404012029.jpg He doesn't wrap it up for Wave 7 - we have another in two weeks! |

... two weeks, because next week there's promise of SO-DO CHRONICLE news! If there's any time to reveal a new line... well, it would have been today to commemorate the 50th; but a week late is also good! |
This is what I get for posting news at nearly 2am :p

Please don’t get my hopes up for SODO Chronicle Ghost SODO designer, please?

A) there's big CHRONICLE news next week B) they showed Ghost's ancient figure here, for no good reason |
He's orange, and Falchion is orange! It couldn't possibly be anything deeper...
Right? |
I don't watch Saber, but I assume that Falchion's future is gonna burn bright?

The blog references this. Since they never actually made SO-DO Ghost, they couldn't just retool the original candy toy, so instead we got an entirely new mold for Falchion. Ghost is in the blog to show off how far we've come. |

In other words, even though Falchion isn't the first example of a Ghost kitbash, his mold is almost entirely brand new. |
Unrelated to the new reveals, but has anyone tried any of these stands Tokullectibles has for So-Do?
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...32/unknown.png |
Those are more just Candy Toy stands in general rather than for just SO-DO. I have a set of gray/black ones for the SHODO I have since they don't come with stands. They are great and come with different textured walls and connector pieces to make different platforms to suit your needs. I would ask how many stands there are because AmiAmi sells them in an 18 pack for $12 more than that price.

Also there's three in this set. |
Do they use a 3mm peg to attach to the figure? I'm not a big fan of the little claw used to hold figures.
If I were looking for SO-DO stands, I'd probably look for 3 points of articulation and a simple 3mm peg. |
Those are Shokugan (Candy toy) Bases made by Bandai. They're designed to work with just about any Bandai candy toy. Mostly designed for Shodo and G-Frame because they don't come with stands, but they fit SO-DO just a well. They do plug directly into the figures to. They're basically mini Figuarts stands. Also come with wall pieces so with enough of them you can make a display.
https://i.imgur.com/I0BxkRJ.jpg That listing is for only 3, so they're $10 each. If that's all you need and don't want extras that's fine enough, but the case is 18 for about $40 on AmiAmi. There's also 2 colors (clear and smokey) and 3 different wall options per color. |

I could probably get by on three, and maybe just put two characters on two, so I'll probably get this set. |
I usually can only get 1 and a half on a single stand. With 3 chained together you can probably get 5-6 max.

Got Daguva stickered yesterday. Gorgeous figure. Both the white and the gold, as stand out strong, and all the little sculpted details make it look like more than just a toy, it brings it up to the level of a real collectors piece. He looks fantastic with Kuuga Ultimate. I love the idea of the final boss and the Rider’s final form having a similar look. Was one of my favorite things about Zero-One’s Ark-One vs Ark-Scorpion battle. Would love to see it done more in the franchise https://64.media.tumblr.com/6a91701c...1be9ea6467.jpg Thanks to the elegant simplicity of his design, and the higher budget of Premium Bandai, he barely had any stickers. Just a couple bits of shoulder detail, back of the belt and his emblem with optional cracked version. The hands took up most of the sheet. He also comes with a Kuuga Ultimate form sticker for the stand, not sure what's the deal with that. Guessing that'll make sense when I eventually watch the last 10 or so episodes of Kuuga. Also got Rising Titan fixed up. Sister used some tweezers and specials glue to move the sticker that got stuck a bit too high into place, and flatten down part of the torn sticker, then some paint that matched perfectly to fill in the missing details. https://64.media.tumblr.com/63b554c2...c864c58c86.jpg |
ha I didn't know N-Daguva-Zeba came with a white stand. Very unique.
Also good job with the sticker repair! Do you use tweezers to apply your stickers? |
I hadn't seen this, but in the blog they use stickers from the Decade Armor Saber form to sticker up the zikku driver on Double Armor. I might have to get this set after all.

Right, so before I calculate prices, any takers for Riderman and Genm?
The current distribution is: Akibasilver: Kamen Rider Leangle, Joker Undead Kurona: Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, Accessory Pack I know Kurona has delays, but when are you (AkibaSilver) planning to buy? |
WOWOW the next SO-DO Chronicle is Ryuki!

So, if I'm reading the Google Translate correctly (which I'm sure Kurona or Akiba will nail down for everyone shortly), it's sounding like the TV Riders will be mass-released, while the Contract Monsters will be Premium Bandai-exclusive.
I thinks that's the absolute best way to do it, if they only have two waves to work with. I'm not someone who wants the Contract Monsters (right now anyway), so it's nice to have the option to just get the nine (?) Riders and call it a day. The Contract Monsters still get produced for the folks who want them (PB, but not impossible to acquire), and those that don't want them get to have all of the TV Riders. Honestly, it's a great plan by Bandai. |
That's hilarious! No joke, before checking the news today, I was thinking "They're probably gonna announce Chronicle Fourze or Ghost, but I feel like there's a strangely high chance they announce Ryuki. Wish I'd posted before the article went up to have proof of my Tezuka style future sight!
|
I feel they should have at least done Dragredder and Darkwing in retail, but this is still good. I'm interested in seeing what the retail waves will bring -- they've promised that every TV show Rider and Contract Monster will be a thing, which only excludes Ryuga, Femme and Verde (and Ryuga's so easy and Femme so popular that I imagine those'll be happening anyway). That leaves 10 riders plus 2 alternatives plus 2 final forms, which if anyone out there is good at math; means 12/14 of those could make it into 3 retail waves -- and I imagine Ryuki's at least as popular as Gaim for that to happen. If I had to guess, I think the Alternatives will be the two cut for Premium Bandai waves.
Anyway WHO CARES ABOUT THAT NONSENSE, SO-DO KAMEN RIDER SCISSORS AT RETAIL IN WAVE 1???? I'm ALL over this, oh my god!! |
So, Wave 1 is:
Ryuki Knight Zolda Scissors Which means Wave 2 is, what: Ouja Raia Tiger Gai Imperer ... I guess not Odin? Assuming the first Wave is ten boxes (two Ryuki, one of everyone else), the most you can fit in Wave 2 is five Riders. Skipping Odin feels a little weird, but I guess you could argue he's not technically a Rider or something. I've got to think the movie Riders are coming in a PB follow-up (Verde, Femme, Ryuga), and they could slot Odin in there, maybe. |
Quote:
Wave 2:- Gai Raia Ouja Odin Wave 3:- Tiger Imperer Ryuki Survive Knight Survive I forget which riders the Survives debuted before, but it's traditional to leave the final forms till the final retail wave. |
Quote:
Anyway, clearly Wave 2 is just going to be All Alternatives. |
So they're only planning on two retail waves? The wording is a little confusing for that

Also, for the sake of it? Ryuki got its own SHODO-X wave 2 years back (almost exactly 2 years in fact), as well as SHODO-O releases only a year ago. This gives us a pretty good idea of what SO-DO CHRONICLE considers old enough from SHODO to be fair game on doing.
Right now, SHODO-X releases even older than Ryuki would be Rider 1971 and 555, and the wave that was directly after it was Black and Black RX. So those we can all consider completely fair game for CHRONICLE now, and soon enough the likes of Agito and other Showa Riders too. This isn't to say it's a good hint of what we will be getting next, but rather stating what we now know isn't off the table for sure. |
Okay so this is super amaze balls, and I love how SO-DO chronicle is constantly raising the bar in design and aesthetic. I'm really excited. I don't know if I'll pre-order but I defo will try to grab these.
Also is alternative going to get a release you think? |
