Is anyone else feel like they are starting to "grow out of" the interest in superheroes, particularly Marvel, DC, and Power Rangers? I feel like I can still gravitate to stuff like Digimon and older Super Sentai. But I don't like the direction the other franchises mentioned are heading. I'm also starting to get more into classical works. I'm not sure if that's due to age or just tired of the "copy and paste" pop content being pushed out in modern day.

Honestly Ultraman is the one I look forward the most, although I do worry if I got bored with it in the future, or that future series couldn't live up to the high standards that most New Generation series sets up. This happens with R/B, it's a solid show, but it wasn't well liked primarily for not living up to X, Orb and Geed which are fantastic shows. |

As for Marvel it's all cookie cutter garbage. It's fun but it's mind numbing. Both Marvel and DC are void of any culture or deep meaning. And they fail at the opposite of Power Rangers, where big brand, too big of a budget. In order to have a greater return they take the less amount of risk, or if they do take a risk they pump it full of pop music and flashy colors. Even Disney is so creatively bankrupt they can't help themselves but to remake their animated classics in live action, and not even try to go over the top with the adaptions so we're left with a bland husk void of any charm the originals had. I cannot even stand modern day music anymore. At least not what's popular. Sometimes I long to be an innovative creator in the 18th or 19th Century. A world filled with opportunity and discovery, instead of rehashed concepts and rampant consumerism. |
Power Rangers is still fun. I feel like saying it's been "immature since Wild Force" is a super gross oversimplification. Not that it should matter, since the show is aimed at 10 year olds, and on average is no more immature than the average Sentai season. Marvel films got boring for me, but I still like most of the cartoons. DC movies in general are very hit and miss for me, but I still tend to like what few cartoons by them I tune into.

I still like Power Rangers though I can't judge the Hasbro Era till we get into Dino Fury as we are still on their first attempt at Power Rangers. As for Marvel movies I kinda dropped them only because I tried to watch them in order which ended up with a lot of movies that I would have to watch and yet I don't have as much free time now. As for DC I mainly just watch the animated films.

I want more drivers to hang on my wall
*buys a driver* I immediately regret this decision. Quote:

I'm hoping for my first Rider Belt to be either the Arcle from Kuuga or the OOO Driver. But unless Bluefin ever distributes those, that's quite the savings away for me.

Honestly, I haven't cared about Power Rangers in ages and I try to get back with the series in 2012. Most of the PR shows that I try to watch are pretty bad to be honest. I also haven't cared about Kamen Rider since 2015 and I have hoped that I will be in a Kamen Rider mood again. None of the new shows make me want to check them out and be a Rider fan again. For some reason, I felt I hit my peak for Kamen Rider with Gaim. |

I didn't ever intend to pick up the Build driver but I got a crazy good deal that came with a lot of full bottles, including some rare ones like the legend rider matches.
The OOOs driver is definitely getting rarer, but keep an eye out on ebay and you might find a good bundle. |
As you all know I got a new job earlier in the month that’s part time, pays more than my current job, with potential growth. Something my current job doesn’t have.
So my current job just started picking up more orders now that school is back in session. And we’re getting a lot of glitter vinyl orders which is the bane of my existence since it’s a difficult material to work with. So I ask them to match my hourly pay from my new job if they want to keep me and they let me go. They rather hire a cheaper artist. I mean it was inevitable but it would have been nice if they would have kept me at least until I got more hours at my new job. But I have a month notice at least. |

Still, sorry you have to go through it. Hope things pick up at the new job! |

So I just found out that Horimiya, one of the greatest romcoms to ever grace manga history, is getting an anime adaptation (and I'm not talking about that 4-episode OVA made a while back). I'm so hyped.

I'm pretty stressed out in shooting a documentary for final year project. It's more that I have to be able to remember my script when talking to the camera. Gonna need a loooooooot of practice in remembering scripts.
Also, god I hope Gokaiger 10 Years After happens. |

I had the trainee from hell at work today. They couldn't follow simple directions, kept preparing food on the same platter as raw food, serving up raw food, forgetting how to do anything while I was on a different station...
The person who was across from me was pretty sure they were drinking, because they also kept going to the "bathroom" every 20 minutes. I at least got a good compliment while it was happening, which made me smile. |
Oh god, you reminded me of one of my old co-workers who was a notorious drunk. There was one time where, no joke, she went to go get a "drink" at the speedway next door to us, only to end up being gone for like a whole hour. One of my managers went to the Speedway only to find her passed out on the floor of the place, somehow having gone unnoticed by the workers at the gas station.

It just begs the question of how did they not see her for an hour on their floor?

Mom and I were watching the sneak peak for the next season of Masked Singer. One of the costumes/contestants is a pair of lips. I swear to the Gods, if they make it far enough, one of their songs had better fucking be "Science Fiction Double Feature".
If nobody gets that connection, I can't (and refuse to) help you. Lol! |
