I'm actually kinda surprised preorders on Captain Marvel closed quickly. I literally remembered about her at like 7am this morning and was somehow able to preorder her without any problems. |
Hi guys, haven't logged in in ages.

Just a heads up for anyone still looking to complete their Ex-Aid riders, but Nippon-Yasan has Chronos up for 1k yen off their base price until Friday. With EMS he only came out to under $80 shipped.
|
I really want Bandai created S.H.Figuarts Time Mazine. I think this Figuarts will be super huge and super cool :D
|
Looks like GameStop has some 20 Rider Kicks Figuarts listed on it's website:
https://www.gamestop.com/browse?nav=...en+Rider,28zu0 49.99 isn't a bad price at all either, considering what the MSRB of those are. |
It would be cool if they can release them at normal Gamestops. It would give me a reason to go to Gamestop to buy something for once.
|
Update: Gamestop has Ultraman figuarts listed now too
They currently have Ultraman Zero, Rosso, and Blu listed: https://www.gamestop.com/browse?nav=...Ultraman,28zu0 |
Uh...
That's pretty freaking cool! |
Wow. To pick up a drive figuart at that price new is pretty great.
|
Well that's awesome.
|
I hope they come to EB in Canada, I mean I've seen model kits, dragon ball figuarts, and those Star Wars movie realization samurai and Marvel samurai figures there, so I don't see why we wouldn't get these
|
^I can't see why not, we were kind of on a roll over the summer getting the Marvel Figure releases. I'm curious how well other import lines are selling though like figmas and movie realization

Zi-O is available for pre-order again on HLJ for those like me that missed out the first round.
|
So after proclaiming a few days ago that I'm not really interested in Zi-O SHF's I realized something today - they could make figures of Shinobi and Quiz.
I’d be super down for that! |

The Zi-O figures look good but I'm so bummed the weapons are separate with the bike, feels like such a cheap move by Tamashii Nations.
|
Received Zi-O today. It's both a hit and a miss.
I've already complained about the lack of an image - or even just differentiating paint - on the face of the RideWatches. Because they face forward, it's reasonably glaring. Couldn't they at least have sent us some stickers? At least the Build RideWatch is molded in the appropriate two colors. The bike's RideWatch colors look a little off, but maybe that's just me. The rest of the paint seems to be great, including little things like the button on the Jikuu Driver and the details on the mask's clock face. Good news: the RideWatches on the Driver and wrist holders are removable. Thoughtful design. Bad news: for no good reason, the plug on them is molded so that the Build RideWatch cannot be slotted into the Jikuu driver in the right orientation: the face is sideways and the arrow is pointing the wrong way. Stupid, stupid design. There are three character-specific hands included: two for his "clock-hands" pose and one for a head-related gesture I don't recall seeing him use in the show (it's shown on the back of box.) Alas, none of his hands can hold a RideWatch. I have to wonder if the additional character-specific hand has to do with designs from before the show aired. The clock-hands don't actually sit right in relation to the forearm if you're trying for the appropriate pose from head on. (That pose from the promotional image where he does this, facing forward, and we can see the RideWatches on his wrist is impossible. Would've required the figure to have a forearm-swivel.) Seems like the articulation may be decent; I haven't tried putting it into extreme poses, yet. All together, the figure is... okay? It's not Ghost-level bad. It's not Drive-level good. |
The head gesture is something he does the first time he transformers.

I'm shocked at how smooth Zi-O's joints are. Or at least the ones on mine are. Everything on him moves more than I expected based on the design. Torso's got great range, the thighs swivel more than most mainline/Non-SS riders, no tightness or looseness. I was impressed. Plus his sculpt work and paint are gorgeous.
The obvious disappointments are of course obvious, the ridewatches have no tampo detailing which would have been more than possible to do (I've seen some customizers in Japan print and install their own) and Zi-O's weapons are another case of being packed with the bike rather than the figure itself. Whether this was done to keep him cheap enough to sell at a low price like they did with Build before him or whatever, it still sucks. And unlike Build and Drive, Zi-O and Geiz use their weapons enough for me to have to consider the bike just so I have them, which I really don't want to spend money on. Outside of that, I love this figure. Ticks all the boxes when it comes to being just a solid toy on its own, same as Build and Ex-Aid. |

I wonder, I saw some people complaining that Decade wouldn't have a reissue with his pink decadriver.
I'm quite surprised because some sites seem to have him on preorder...I never bothered to search before today since I already have a Decade. Was it known? |

Me and some friends have been using these decals I made for the zi-o figuarts for a little while now so I thought I would post them on here.
https://twitter.com/KingdomOblivon/s...049470977?s=19 The instructions for printing it are in the first of the list of tweets and you need to print it on white sticker paper. |

Hey so I'm new to the Figuarts collecting business and I've never pre-ordered one before, but Seihou OOO has very much taken my interest since I can't express enough how much I love OOO. For when pre-orders go up, can anyone with experience tell me how they generally go? When payments are, how much you need to pay up front, what's shipping like, how long does stuff take, anything to watch out for etc? Just wanna know what I'm getting into, thanks!

For everything else, it's basically no different from ordering or pre-ordering other things. Choose what shipping you want based on how fast you want your item, etc. There's no real special method to pre-ordering Figuarts unless it's like a Web Exclusive. |

There are online retailers who allow you to do exactly that, the ones I use most for retail items are AmiAmi and HobbyLinkJapan. Differences between the two are many but boil down to: -HLJ is a tiny bit more expensive, but offers a "warehouse" where you can store an item for 60 days and thus combine shipments over a month. Their customer service is good, I had a broken figure once and they replaced it no problem. They allow you to cancel pre-orders at your own terms, but will eventually remind you to not overdo it before banning your account. As long as you don’t go too heavy on the cancellations you'll be fine though. The one thing to note: HLJ has the bad reputation of "overselling" pre-orders, which means selling more orders then they can eventually fulfill when they get the stock. I don’t know how relevant this problem is, I buy form them for like 5 years now and it never happened once. You will meet people around here who had that problem and are rightfully pissed about it though. -AmiAmi is generally cheaper, doesn't offer a warehouse but you can group up orders by month. I have no experience with their customer service at all. They do not allow you to cancel pre-orders, you have two write them a mail and ask. They may do it, they may not and ban you. Again, as long as you're not overdoing it you should be fine. Anyways, if you're pre-ordering something from AmiAmi you're guaranteed to get it. People tend to stick more to them because of that. If you want an item secured, pre-orders are safe here. Both charge you when the item comes out, not upon pre-ordering. Both allow you to choose the shipment method of your choice. They ask upon pre-order, but it can be changed later. AmiAmi for example gives you the option once you pay the item, with prices for each shipping method listed. Payment options vary, both allow PayPal and that's what I'm using. Credit cards might work too, but I never used one in my life. Which shipping method is the best might depend on where you live. I usually take a registered airmail option. It's not the fastest, but doesn't cost too much and it does have tracking which I find important. There's a really cheap option to ship via a boat, I don't recommend that. It’s cheap but it can take about a month before your package reaches you. Airmail usually takes a week or two, more expensive option allow for shipment within a week. Be wary of custom charges. Also depending on where you live, custom offices might charge import fees. The US of A doesn’t have them but in Europe for example you pay fees on import items. It’s another convoluted matter entirely but make sure to inform yourself how your country handles these things. Those are the basics, now the interesting parts: Pre-ordering. Sadly, that's the most stressful part of this hobby. Popular items tend to sell out fast. Like, within minutes. You have to be on your guard and ready to pre-order as soon as the items go up. HLJ does this without warning so you have to figure out the time yourself, AmiAmi lists the items before pre-orders go live and add the time when it happens on the site. Tamashii pre-orders usually happen all at once on the first weekday of each month. OOO will probably go up April 1st. I'll confirm it once Tamashii does that. But, April 1st in Japan. Time zones are a bitch. For US citizens that means it'll be the night before, for Germans like me it's in the morning. That's the key to your success: Prepare for the pre-order, be ready (and logged in) when they go live, pre-order immediately. And be ready to face server crashing. AmiAmi especially still has not figured out that their server farm can't handle the heat. Instead they added a disclaimer on the pages of said items. "Be prepared for our servers to crash, sorry :( ". Good one. But, don’t get too nervous. I've never, ever, missed out on a pre-order. Kiva got the closest, but I stayed on the page and refreshed and eventually he was available again. AmiAmi tends to close pre-orders temporarily on the day they go live to open them again later. So even though the experience isn't the best sometimes, I always came out successful and so will you. If everything fails, there are other retailers besides AmiAmi and HLJ and we will help you find another way to get your OOO. So, that's a lot to take in, but really, you do it once and then you figured it out. It's not rocket science. So, do the following: Create an account on AmiAmi or HLJ, whichever you prefer (or both), get your payment option ready, inform yourself about custom fees in your country, and most important: Tell us in which country you live so fellow members can tell you when you need to set up your alarm. Hope that helps, sorry for the wall of text, I hope it all goes well for you. Bake yourself a cake in advance and loudly sing "Happy Birthday" once your pre-order is locked in for the bonus OOO experience ;) |
