The fun thing is there's still a possibility Rebuild of Evangelion is a sequel rather than a remake.

Or Karas could get it's own series instead of 2 OVAs...

It isn't exactly like its still going constantly. There's been one film every 2-3 years, and even then there's only one of those left now.

Besides, Rebuild of Evangelion has been fantastic.

What I'm trying to say is that there doesn't need to be a new film every 2-3 years.

If it's not obvious, I don't like Evangelion. :p
But to not unnecessarily step on any toes, I won't go into why (Primarily because, unlike Decade, ain't no way in hell am I rewatching it, so my memory of it has been hazy).

You need to watch Evangelion, Big O, Wolf's Rain, RahXephon, Utena (especially the movie), Trinity Blood, Ouran Host Club, Macross Zero, Macross 7, Macros II, Macross Plus, G Gundam, Gundam SEED Destiny, the Escaflowne movie, the first Ghost in the Shell, Akira, and many many many others to understand.
