Well, when I look at him, I think of Kouta and Takeru. And a little later Haruto, because Soma/Shoma is too similar. Regarding the fact that the belt is part of his body, I think it is too early to say for sure. Maybe Bandai is just experimenting with design. But, if so, then this is a very interesting return to Kuuga and even beyond. Gavv himself seems to look better in motion, but still doesn't give me the main rider/main form vibe.

By the way, if the belt really sticks out of the main character’s stomach forever, without any disappearing/invisibility modes (otherwise why alter the sweatshirt?), what are the crew’s plans for the hot season? I think the options are either to become an open celebrity hero, or to lose the living belt and then return for the final showdown.
