At any rate, they still make traditional cartoons once in a while, so I'm grateful. :) |

For example, if Ed, Edd, 'n Eddy was released today, I'd be willing to bet people would complain about it's juvenile humor and about how [action/adventure series] was canned to put it on air. |

True....doesn't help that they're pretty much rubbish though :lol |
CatDog, Angry Beavers and Catscratch. Who watched these?

Catdog was kind of dumb, well...Really fucking stupid. :lol Quote:
Like I said, if Ed, Edd, n Eddy was first released this year, it would be despised today. :lol |
They don't make eccentric idiot characters like they used to.
Compare Patrick Star circa 2002 to Patrick Star circa 2013. It's depressing. |

But a show can be bearably stupid (Like Robot Chicken, Gumball, etc) and watchable. Spongebob skirted that line until the movie. I don't watch Spongebob anymore, I'm just saying that pre-movie was actually watchable :lol |

Even now the pre movie stuff is pretty stupid to me. I suppose it's just a case of growing up and changing tastes in comedy and entertainment.

I liked it. I liked the movie. I enjoyed some post movie episodes. Then things like Mr. Krabs being an immoral psychopath and not just a dubious cheapskate to Patrick becoming stupider than Spongebob's Idiot Charade from when he needed to impress Pat's Parents to what the interwebs have dubbed "Squidward Torture Porn."

I remember loving the movie as a young whippersnapper, especially that damned Goofy Goober song. Anytime somebody sang it I burst out into laughter.
|
I didn't even like the movie that much :lol
It was tortuously long for me, even when I was younger. |
I liked the game of the movie. :lol

Does anybody remember a CGI Spider-Man show from the late 90's/early 2000's? I have this distinct memory of watching a Spider-Man show that was all CGI and that he wore a black and red suit. I can't really remember anything else about it other than that.

So to amend my first post, I remember three things about it :lol |
The MTV Spider-Man wasn't really very good, in my memory. It felt too...Boring, surprisingly. Every character was more concerned with being "Cool" rather than making the actual show being cool :lol

Unlimited was a fun series, I liked the new costume and the different stories they could tell with the new world.
Wasn't a fan of the Symbiote redesigns, though... And I know Ultimate receives so much hate for not being Spectacular Spider-Man 2, but I like it. |

Ultimate Spider-Man is a fun show, and quite entertaining. It's no The Spectacular Spider-Man, but it never tried to be The Spectacular Spider-Man. What I'd like to see, though, is a Spider-Man show (animated or otherwise) that eventually takes him out of the education system and into the adult world, exploring all the issues Peter faced when he graduated and started a life of his own. |

The family style cut away gags and monologuing to the audience really kills a lot of the built up tension. |

Ultimate isn't perfect, but I still have fun with it. Especially the Taskmaster episode (That was the episode that truly drew me in). And while I'd love to see that kind of Spider-Man series, it'd be unlikely to happen. Just too many barriers and hurdles to jump for it to happen. |

But just imagine how amazing it would be if we got a live-action Spider-Man show that got a story like that in. Quote:
