If you rented Thor 2, make sure you watch All Hail the King on the bonus features. It makes Iron Man 3 so much better.

What's everyone's thoughts on the Marvel Legends line? I pick up Spider-Man 2099 today at Target and I really like it. I haven't bought a Marvel toy in years and I do plan to pick up more from the line.

Yup it looks great. Visually its not very FF-like but tonally and with the heavy emphasis on Sci-Fi this is the closest we ever gotten to the comics.

Visuals are quite good. If it hadn't missed the mark pretty much everywhere else I might have had hope for this film.

Looking st the origin they are doing the Ultimate FF version where the chsracters are younger than in the main universe.

But I am curious what in these trailer misses the mark for you. This story presented in the trailers is as close to FF as it gets.

Not to mention that Doom y'know, actually looks like a supervillain.

There is alot of great things in here.

Doom looks like hes gonna be a real menace, the Negative Zone, the relationship between Ben and Reed, good comedy scenes and the classic FF trope of them struggling with their powers.

Nothing the actual trailer misses the mark for me (other than the fact its pretty dark and drab), it's just everything else surrounding it. I haven't read a lot of the Ultimate Universe stuff but the younger team doesn't give off the same family feel that the 616 version does, which honestly is my biggest draw to the Fantastic Four as a whole.

Plus none of the Doom stuff sounds good at all.

The things we heard I agree with you on. But the thing I have on my mind right now ever we got the first trailer is that none of that may actually be true. We heard Doom was just a cyber terrorist blogger, yet looking at the trailers none of that seems to actually be in the movie. I love Josh Trank as a director and Chronicle was a great movie. I actually wouldnt be surprised if he knew that whatever he would do people would hate on the movie because its not done by marvel studios ( and lets be honest thats what would have happened) so the things we heard sounded like stupid moves a studio would never make? I dont think those are happening at all and are just the production team messing with the fans.

The Family aspect is still very present in the Ultimate FF so that should still be in here.

Secondly. We gots some War Machine action up in here! And it's great to see a Quick Silver that doesn't look like the love child of Eric and Ororo.

Some of the stuff sounds so ridiculous that I did initially wonder if that was a possibility :lol I guess we'll have to wait and see. I don't have particularly high hopes for the film but me having low expectations might actually work to it's advantage when I do see it.

Yeah my expectations arent high either but I'm optimistic. Looking only and stuff from the movie itself made me more excited. And the last I wanna see is a third awful FF movie.

I admit I have gone from "hate with a burning passion" (based off of some of the ludicrous stuff like Doom is just an angry blogger) to "meh okay I'm pretty ambivalent but would consider seeing it" after the trailer. And even just seeing Thing. Couple of my friends are too.

because race swapping a pre-existing character is easier than making an original character that's also likeable.

you can get mad at me all you want on this, but I think race swapping under any circumstance is disgusting and should never be accepted. ever.

I don't have a problem with that. Captain America is the identity not the person. Thor IS the person, therefore, Thor has to be a male. Wally West IS the person, therefore, he has to be white. If they wanted a black Flash, I'm cool with that. However, don't name him Wally West. Don't name him Johnny Storm. Will Smith as Deadshot? Okay, but don't name him Floyd Lawton.

I don't care if they want to change the super hero's race. That is cool. A black Batman is awesome, as long as he is not Bruce Wayne. A female Cyborg would be cool too, as long as she is not named Vic Stone.

Do you recall the story where he became a mare to distract a (I believe it was) troll who was building a wall around Asgard, so that the gods would have to actually pay him (though he was trying to bargain Freya into being his wife, and she wasn't having any of that nonsense).
