Agreed, more hands would've been better, especially ones to replicate the roll call. But maybe if you mix and match them you can pull it off ?

Anyone else feel like they should've given Lost Galaxy Pink another head?? (since there were two... ) also the one we got is pretty rough--not sure what photo they based that sculpt off of...

I'd rather they didn't, anyway; because adding in a second head would mean they'd have to sacrifice one or two of the weapons

Then again, Super7's own Ultimates series has a literal deluge of extra parts. Some are useful, like the different Civilian heads. Whereas some parts are just taking the piss.
(Did we really need 1993-style Toy Weapons and accessories in a collectors-oriented line) |

What is going on with the QC issues for Lightning Collection recently? It seems with every new release, there's consistently multiple figures per wave that have some kind of problem for numerous people.
|
I did see that one photo of DF Green’s sword flopping out of the box… is that widespread?
|
At this point, Hasbro really should look into these Quality Control issues. It's gotten ridiculous.
|
And I thought BOA's action figures from a while back molding their "gold" parts into Timberland boots color was bad. What other examples are there?

This is a pretty crazy one from what I've seen. |
QC Horrors have been hitting every Hasbro line as of late. Hasbro QC has always been spotty, but ever since they adopted their windowless packaging it's gotten even worse. Figures outright just missing parts(like seen with DF Green up there) being the worst of it.

I can understand floppy weapons or missing hands, but HOW do you ship out a figure without their face? It's a helmet, for crying out loud! |
Hasbro should go back to not caring about the environment and just give us plastic windows again.
|
I'm more baffled by the head snafu. Who on earth thought to themselves 'you know what this line of figures in a franchise known for helmeted superheroes needs? A two-layer plug system where the face pegs in the back of the head'.
It's not like these figures come with alternate faceplates so you can make your own Dino Fury Green Ranger; you have a Ranger head and a Civilian head. There is no reason why this shouldn't have been a solid piece, like every GI Joe figure ever made. |

But I will say, that the two-piece head design is actually a solid engineering choice. In toy design, its always preferable to cast a piece in a predominant color vs painting it, especially if there multiple color layers to apply afterwards. The visor being separate allows for much more depth to the helmet and really cleans up paint applications. |
I feel like I'm missing something, because while the QC is bad, what's specifically so shocking about this batch of releases? Did people just collectively have enough, or are there actually dozens of really bad "No-head Izzy's" and I just can't tell because all the photos look the same?

I looked it up myself earlier -- the main thing is that the head/neck connection itself snaps right off, mostly when trying to swap the headsculpts; and this has been reported a LOT. It seems much more widespread than previous LC QC issues (which tended to be much more random and spotty)
I haven't heard about it (or any other issues for that matter) in the rest of the wave she's in. It's just her https://i.imgur.com/FcuPH3f.png https://i.imgur.com/6TqJGkI.png |

It is reminding me of Tiga in just how much reports I'm seeing of it. People are taking the opportunity to pitch in other QC faults they've experienced with this figure (hence the picture linked earlier, and stuff like floppy swords), and since this is a particularly bad and widespread case even more people are taking it as an opportunity to share other QC issues they've had with the line; so you might be seeing those pop up and get confused as to what the central issue that caused this whole discussion is. Apparently the recent pinless male body commonly has floppy joints? That's news to me, though I haven't gotten an LC in a while
|
I saw one just straight up missing the wrist morpher.
But yeah, so the new no-plastic packaging has all the accessories tossed in together in a paper bag. This leads to a lot of bent swords and paint rubbing off. No window also means its hard to check to see if the one you're buying in a store look good/complete. Only companies with really solid QC should attempt windowless packaging like this. That neck joint confirms that its a single ball joint at the top of the neck and simple rotation on the bottom. Whereas I believe some of the older lighting collections had double ball jointed necks? |

A Sprue Tree would've been more effective. |

It would've been a better solution than just tossing the accessories into a paper bag.
Plus the toy itself is made of plastic. What's one sprue tree gonna cause? |

When a figure comes with a sprue tree, it's typically because the item is small and unpainted.
Most of the accessories in LC feature painted details |
Ah, that does make sense.

In short, Bank of America's faith in Hasbro and their stock is diminishing! https://markets.businessinsider.com/...america-2023-2 |
Well there is a recession on, after all. Lot less people finding the money for rent, never mind toys
|
All the more reason why Hasbro should really address the Quality Control complaints.
Because if a recession means less people are buying your products, you literally cannot afford to be sloppy. |
Without even reading it, I know that's mostly about Wizards of the Coast. After their botched Magic anniversary and the attempt at a new DnD creative license causing mass unsubscriptions to DND Beyond (As well as competitive growth), it's understandable that their stocks would drop due to the sheer greed on display.

It is such a quiet thing to fall; but far more terrible is to admit it.

Blue Senturion and Space Silver V2

Boxes - The baggies do not work. Accessories bend and are at a risk of getting mixed up. I've gotten two GI Joe closed box products. Geeze louise, Hasbro apparently could make this work. The accessories go into a separate box. Accessories at risk of warping(blades/poles) get taped to a piece of cardboard. The others go in the baggie The main figure doesn't get a baggie. It gets secured to its own box with paper twist ties. ...Why is this not standard? Still doesn't beat have a plastic window(loathe that transformers is open), but I think this mixed with a windowed plastic box would remove the need for a plastic tray. New bodies The drop down hips and the sockets are the problem. The tolerances are too loose. Gi Joe has them but I haven't gotten a figure yet where it's as problematic. I don't think Hasbro has designed them well. Especially trying to maintain the lower torso + waist combo. While I'd love all the rangers to do splits, they should just revert have to the old waist set up or just make ones where the upper thighs have more space to rotate. Blue Senturion has drop down legs but they had to make a whole new body so they clearly fixed the problem as opposed to make the change fit an inadequate design. Necks - I prefer these necks as it's white plastic(or whatever it needs to be) and parts can be replaced easier(well the pegs). But again not designed correctly. No space to move the neck at either balljoint. A solution is remove more material from the neck so the peg can move. The helmet would cover up the remove material Then create more a cavity in the upper torso so the neck and move there are well. Maybe they just wanted to solve fixing the need to paint the necks but again I think that just trying to fit these changes into an inadequate torso is the problem. |
Wait Blue Senturion is out already?
|
For real, BBTS says they get Blue Senturion in June. But their dates sometimes are all over the place
Sounds like Senturion isn't a wobbly mess though? That's a relief for me |
