So not that strange given the circumstances, they saw the chance to open pre-orders at the right time and took it. Quote:

Honestly... Wish they'd do Geiz Majesty. Despite the weird decisions with the Ridewatches sticking out, I still very much like the suit. I JUST PREFER GEIZ'S SUITS MORE SO THAN 70% OF SOUGO'S! (I love ZI-O II and OhmaZi-O/Form) |
Geiz Revive is of course a bit more expensive due to the form change parts being including, but the general price increase in Web-Exclusives through middleman services comes because Premium Bandai has significantly lowered the amount of copies per figure you can order.
In the past it was like 16 or more, now you can only buy 1-3. Meaning that middleman services have to make more individual orders to get their stock, they pay more shipping and that cost is being passed on to the consumer via a general increase in price for every single figure. On the plus side here are some more gorgeous pictures of Horobi. Plus: Zero-One himself will be out February 8th! http://blog.livedoor.jp/shfiguarts/a...076652120.html https://i.imgur.com/Jy3ic2P.jpg https://i.imgur.com/UgI6xNP.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ODZyJLS.jpg |

It's the DIRECTION that Bandai is taking the Shinkocchou Seihou line to. The announcement of the SHF SS Den-O proved (so far) that Bandai was doubling down (or rather, :eek:tripling down:eek:) on this new joint system, after implementing it on SHF SS OOO Tatoba and SHF SS Gatakiriba. As THE prestige line of 1:12 action figures that Bandai offers, we can safely say that this decision is going to be implemented on ALL future SHF SS releases, and probably regular SHFs as well.:thumbdown Now, THIS is the problem. Instead of isolating the damage and put a stop loss on their portfolio by only committing one blunder, they decided instead to commit the same blunder two(!) more times. The problem is not releasing a figure with super fragile joints. The problem is releasing a figure with super fragile joints, NOT learning from the blunder, AND committing the same blunder on two other releases. So, highly anticipated unreleased SHF SS lines (to me), like Ex-Aid, Faiz, Gaim, and God forbid, :cryRyuki:cry, almost certainly will use this new joint system. We can all imagine how epic the fail will be.:eek::eek: Well, let's sit back, and just wait and see. Let the final arbiter, time, answer this question: "How many broken joints does it take to change Bandai executives' minds?" https://forums-images.oneplus.net/at...bb0d7e3135.jpg |
Or is it possible the decision to use the new joint design came well before the reports of OOO breakages?

As far as I know, ANY engineer worth their title would already have smelled the fragility from miles away. Bandai's engineers are probably mass facepalming in their office right now. :D |

Something I don't think anyone has noticed but is it just me or is SHF Horobi's head too long and his waist is too thin? I distinctly remember the suit's head being a bit smaller and the whole suit being baggier. |
Quote:
It's 1000% engineering problem. Material/production problem is only a tiny fraction of the overall cause of failure. You can read my previous posts on this new joint system. |

In terms of the figure itself, I am really liking that shade of dark purple for the suit. |

I'm merely warning the customers who plan to purchase those figures. I'm just positioning myself as a rational consumer. Do I gain something here? No, I don't. I never advertise any other alternative products. Do I lose something here? Nope, I don't either. I'm already short on Bandai's long. It's not a major problem to me, as I haven't purchased (and will not purchase) any SHF SS with the new joint system, however desirable they are to me. It's more like uh... facepalm. On the other hand, I'd feel damned for my whole life if I saw someone (that is, Bandai) making a catastrophic decision (three in this case, or perhaps four, as several days ago they teased the SHF SS OOO Latorata Combo) and did NOT warn them. Quote:
Should we wait and see? Well, we already see the result. As far as I know, NO previous SHF releases have ever had this high rate of breakage, be it figures with arm swapping gimmick (hello, Gentaro) or without one. The conclusion is obvious. |

After reading about the ooo breakage I look at my ooo figuart and it feels weak and light like something could break right away. I lost a lot of faith in bandai with this whole ooo issue and IDK if I want to buy any other ooo form release. Thanks for letting us know how bad the joints are on the ooo figure. |

You prattle on with canned phrases like “the proof is in the pudding” like you’re so certain it’s been proven beyond a doubt, yet until more than one figure is released you can’t possibly say anything is proven. Quote:
Is this you guys’ first rodeo or something? I can’t imagine anyone who follows any toyline in this day and age being so irrationally frantic. It’s one release, possibly two if Den-O is so far along in production and literally uses the exact same mould for the joints, and you’re predicting figures that won’t come out for years will be affected? This isn’t even a “benefit of the doubt” situation so much as it is a “use your God-damned brains” situation. |
I also feel the need to repeat that my Tatoba has been perfectly fine, and I treat it as I would any other figure and have had it almost since release. I've still yet to see anything to deconfirm that others haven't just had a bad batch.

Personally, I plan to just wait for Latoratah to have him posed claws out. |

You fiend, we won't let you get away with this. Quote:
Honestly I don’t think there's any reason to argue about the whole thing. If it happens again with other OOO-figures or even Den-O they will either abandon or change the system. Hell, maybe they are even doing it right now. So going as far as doom saying future figures that haven’t even happened yet feels a bit premature. |
Back in the day, I heard way more stories of people snapping the wrist joints on Kyoryu Red or the Space Sheriffs than I have people breaking their Seihou OOO. Gokai hips breaking is another one that springs to mind, but that’s more of an age thing I guess. It sucks, but it really isn’t the epidemic this thread is making it out to be.
And just to throw in, mine is fine as well. |

To be precise: the joint's components, since they split the actual joint into 2 components. So, you're placing the new joint system in the lower hierarchy of culprits, below manufacturing issues and QC issues? As far as I know, you CANNOT make something smaller & more complex without INCREASING FRAGILITY. ALL materials have their strength LIMIT. All materials, no exception. Even POM plastics, the time tested industrial material that can be considered THE toughest of all plastics, have its limit. Basically, they use up all the material's strength, pushing it closer to its fatigue limit. The new joint system has no REDUNDANCY in strength. Redundancy is, from risk management standpoint, your only INSURANCE against total failure. Using this reasoning, THE ultimate rational question to ask is: "What is the WORST CASE SCENARIO (aka WHAT'S THE WORST THING THAT WILL HAPPEN) when the material DO reach its strength limit?" The answer is clear: TOTAL STRUCTURAL COLLAPSE. Perhaps you can Google the term "fragility detection"? |

If it was as simple as the post being too small, every SHF's wrists would be at risk. There's nothing inherent to the joint design itself that makes it doomed to destruction, otherwise every single OOO figure would have that problem. You rant for pages and post memes like you think it's self-explanatory, but you haven't offered a shred of real evidence beyond the simple fact that some broke, therefor all must break forever into the future, and that Bandai will intentionally release time bombs going forward with no regard to feedback or reports of breakage. Do you realize how utterly loony you sound? Screaming about "DISASTERS" and shouting down at anyone who even attempts to approach the conversation with a level head, I'd almost think you were being facetious. |

The weak point is NOT the metal post. And could you please refrain yourself from ad hominem attacks? Thank you. |

My point is, this is hardly the first time this kind of joint has ever existed. It is not a design flaw, or at least not one that can never ever be amended within the joint's design. You are literally saying every figure ever to use this joint design are doomed to fail, but it is not, we have evidence it is not, and you have zero evidence this will be a problem on future SHFs. Reason and rational deduction tells us, however, that in the face of so many reports of breakage Bandai will adjust their design/production going forward, especially as the SS line is heavily promoted as one of their most high-end product lines. It's silly to assume theoretical figures that haven't even been announced yet will suffer from breakage when we have only one release with these new elbows so far. Quote:

I misinterpreted the word "post" you wrote as the metal posts/axles of the new joint system, while what you meant was the wrist joint. :lolol |
