I hate that I loved this.

That depends on how cool you are with:

- Fast-paced, episodic storytelling
- A small, tight-knit cast of ridiculously pretty boys
- Magical suits of armor capable of unleashing unimaginable levels of destruction
- THE BEST transformation sequence ever put on screen
- Introspection on the nature of conflict, redemption, and human nature
- There's one girl but she carries the whole damn show and then some
- The voice talents of the NG5 (Nozomu Sasaki, Takeshi Kusao, Tomohiro Nishimura, Daiki Nakamura, and Hiroshi Takemura)/Mid-90s Ocean Group stable (NA version)

All while drawing strongly on themes derived from Showa era Kamen Rider and others. In short, yes. Toy Galaxy did a great primer on it just as Discotek announced they were bringing over the Blu-Ray remasters.

Whole thing's up on Amazon Prime (including OAVs, dubbed only), and Crunchyroll (Subbed only, series only). And as mentioned, it's getting a Blu-Ray release from Discotek in a few days that includes EVERYTHING. Both audio tracks, all 39 episodes, and all three OAVs. I ain't gonna lie, if you're a fan of Shinkenger, this is right up your alley, and I say that because I am watching through Shinkenger and I am not unconvinced Yasuko Kobayashi didn't secretly pen the thing as a love letter/spiritual adaptation of YST because once you start seeing the similarities, you do not stop.

Is Discotek' stuff region-free? The legal streaming options aren't available in Germany, if I could stuff the Blu-rays into my PS4 and get that to work I could finally try this show.
