When you stop looking, it reveals itself. :p I caught my shiny Minccino while trying to find something else, I think.

I used the encounter O-Power over and over to find Pokémon. I was hoping for a shiny Braxien though until the Shiy Larvesta (now Mothra Leo) popped up
