I just came up with an idea for an Avengers sequel that is fairly unrealistic in terms of legality but I think is still somewhat awesome.

The story would be a hybrid of Infinity Gauntlet and Secret Wars. Essentially, Thanos has obtained the Infinity Gauntlet and has collected most of the Infinity Stones and seeks to obtain the rest of them. Standing in his way, however, is the Beyonder, who possesses the Tesseract. Using the Tesseract, he assembles a team of heroes from across the multiverse: the Avengers, the Defenders, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the X-Men, and Spider-Man (who I would imagine just fell in by accident). Basically, it would be an inter-company crossover movie in which all of the silverscreen Marvel heroes team up and defeat Thanos, with character development and humor mixed in at the perfect amount.

It's an incredibly rudimentary idea, but I'd like to see it happen. It probably won't, though. Stupid legal issues. Ruining our childhood fantasies.
