I'm not really sure what's spoilers at this point and what not, so I'm just gonna black everything, sorry.
So… yeah I did not enjoy a whole lot of this really. First of all the reboot still feels too weird. Like, what’s the point? The Digimon don’t know their partners anymore? Well big deal considering only Biyomon really cares since the rest of them are basically their old self again by the end. And wow – we need Sora focus and only Biyomon acts like an asshole for no reason, what a coincidence. Then of course the old "We throw out some mega evolutions during the last episode"-deal. It felt great when Gomamon and Palmon did it now it just feels wasted. Especially since three people did it now and it makes no sense for the other two. Also I’m still not a fan of the whole "Evolving through every stage"-thing when Warp evolutions were established in the first season. And aren’t they trying to milk nostalgia? Honestly the PSP game did it better by giving everyone a Warp digivoluton. Not that the new digivolving scenes aren’t neat, but it feels wrong. Honestly the best thing this new movie / new episodes did for me were the first few minutes where they showed us how the Sovereigns came to be. That was cool. And it gave the new characters some good background since we know what’s going on with them now. But it stops there, because: That chick (Agent lady, sorry I forgot her name) apparently researched reboots. It did not occur to her that a reset would mean Tapirmon would forget her? WTF? I mean you could argue she just wanted a way to bring it back, but that doesn’t really work considering she screams that she wants to be acknowledged by Taprimon, she wants to see it happy to see her. How stupid is this woman? And then of course the big one: It’s fucking Yggdrasil again. Oh gosh, who saw that coming? I’m sick of this tree honestly. The problem isn’t that they introduced an enemy new to this universe, they had to do that anyways, but it’s one we’ve already seen so much of in other stuff. Its Royal Knights all over again, it’s a virus altering Digimon all over again; it’s Yggdrasil all over again. The whole premise is basically a rip-off of Digimon X, only with Adventure characters and Meicoomon replacing Dorumon. Another problem for me personally: The characters are getting too old. Not in a physical state but… we know these guys by now. I think they pulled every trick out of their hats to make them interesting again, and it worked with Joe and Sora to an extent, and they have Mei in there too, but now that it seems like they are closing in on their goals I don’t really care anymore. Introducing / giving the 02 guys some focus is long overdue, especially since the Digimon Emperor is just a black Gennai. I mean Ken being the Emperor again would’ve been just as lame, but this is disappointing still. Also disappointing: Re-using the Dark Masters without any personalities attached to them. I know they are supposed to be copies or something, but wouldn’t it have been great if these guys came back and they could’ve had their rematches? Maybe empowered a bit by that stupid tree? I don’t know. And hey: Wouldn’t a reset mean that the bad guys are back anyways? Apocalymon, anyone? Or even better: Get all the bad guys back and give them new evolutions too, that would’ve been sweet! To keep it short: This is going on for far longer than it should. A real movie, 100 minutes or whatever, with some really heavy nostalgia tones and a more centered story could’ve been cool. This is just sometimes good, mostly bad. I will see this through because why not, but… I don’t think this what I’ve been waiting to see all these years. Could’ve lived without it really. |
Well, good to hear nothing worthwhile has happened since I washed my hands of this series :lol

The rest is mostly garbage. It's hurts to say that but I think it's true. |

I'm just glad that we got confirmation about the original DigiDestined. Confirmation as if who they were (to some degree) and the fate of them (more or less).
|
ConfIrmation?
Yes, it does matter, because I thought I was going crazy reading that the first time. |
Attention passengers its time to derail this Thread Trailmon to take a stop at the spin off Appmon Station.
The show does get better at 19 onward it seems which makes me happy. Now will all passengers make their quick breaks for snacks and stuff before the Thread Trailmon returns to the Tri Track. |

Anyway, I guess it has gotten better, but it's a relative term. It's still not really a great show, but... ...hell, I do like the Eri episodes. |
Universe? Never heard of this title.

IMO if a show takes 19 episodes to not suck it's a failure.

Yeah it has been character building somewhat since episode 19 where they are getting their ultimates which I guess would be megas for us. Some of the episodes are really dumb though with how there is an app for every basic function. Even the simple copy and paste is an app. Weirder is the Hack App that Hackmon comes from. Plus the Christmas episode that has gotten hate for its stupidity. I just hope it keeps getting better from here instead of going downhill.

Also, my favorite episode so far is the 17th, so...meh, maybe I'm biased. Quote:
The ultimate/mega equivalent is the next one, the God grade. Honestly, other than the fact that they have different names, there are no babies, and they're technically fusions, the Appmon grades really aren't much different from traditional Digimon evolution levels. There's four main ones, just like in old times... Quote:

Seriously, these are weird things to get hung up on when the show has real storytelling problems... |

As for episode 17, I doubt I can actually say anything that would make you like the show more. My appreciation for that episode probably just stems from the fact that I enjoy Eri a lot. If you're not a fan of hers in particular I can imagine it was probably not very interesting. For me it was just a nice opportunity to have an Eri-focused episode in which she was allowed to be her best. I enjoyed it more than all the other plot stuff that's been happening, for better or for worse, but....that's just me. Quote:

Well, yeah, smartphones ARE basically massively underpowered laptops these days. There's an app for that, after all.

Appmon is pretty middle of the road show were it sometimes kinda good, but other times it's kinda bad. Honestly, it's one of those shows, so far, that you watch once, but not again, which is not to say it's necessarily bad, just not great enough warrant a rewatch, but who knows the second half could be really amazing. p.s. I think Ultimate Appmon designs are pretty cool. |

Though I think disdain is kind of a strong way to put it. It's not like I'm really opposed to idol stuff in principle, I mean, I've watched Love Live, some Im@s, and generally enjoyed it...what I do tend to dislike is having idol shit thrown into shows at random and having it overtake the narrative, be it as a whole or momentarily, when that isn't what the show is actually supposed to be about. ...which, well, should, in theory, apply to Appmon as well, but it's just...Eri. I think I mentioned this in this thread before (like...17 episodes ago? jeez, time does fly...), but I really do like her. I like that while yes, she's an idol, she's also just kind of this big weird dork trying to push a forceful persona at the same time. I didn't expect much from her before she debuted, as I was expecting her to be either a generic tsundere or tomboy or a standard issue idol girl. But she's not really quite any of those things. She has elements of all those things, but she's not just any one of them. To me she just feels like one of the more...real? characters? Like...Haru, Astra, Rei...to me they all just feel super tropey and archetypal. Astra perhaps less so in his better moments, but those are far and few in between. Not that I really have anything against these guys either, but in contrast to them, Eri feels like she has something resembling an actual multifaceted personality. ...but you know, I dunno. Honestly, maybe I'm just crazy/projecting/both. Whatever the case...I do tend to enjoy her focus episodes more. But as you say, it's pretty middling overall. |

Eri giving the impression she would be a standard tsundere character probably has do with pigtails because in world of anime pigtails = tsundere more often than not. |
One weird thing about Eri is I do not remember much about her except her mother was usually busy and she wanted to bring smiles to people's faces. Not sure if I didn't to me not liking the show to where I was just trying to get through it, or my bad memory.
Also one more thing I forgot to mention, the villain what ever her name is very dumb. her plans are so stupid. Quote:

Oh hey, I forgot to post my thoughts on Lost after watching it. So a week and a half later and looking back on it how do I feel...
Meh? I was glad that at least one of the partners didn't immediately bond with the Digidestined. Although the execution could have been a little better as she just ended up being annoying and stubborn. If there were no consequences, what was the point of the reset? Oh wait, there wasn't a point. Because there weren't any consequences. Because it turns out everyone's actually the same and they'll easily restore all of their bonds in no time, just weakened for a bit making our unnecessarily creepy big bad of the movie able to get an upper hand. Speaking of the real big bad... Of freaking course it's Yggdrasil. *sigh* Still no 02 acknowledgement. Ugh. But seeing the original team and the birth of the Sovereigns was a cool moment and some solid lore building. Hououmon was also great. At first. I was even able to see why Seraphimon would be used now if taking the whole arc from the last movie until that point into perspective of restoring their hope (which again is why a regularly airing TV show would've been better so that might have been fresher). But HerculesKabuterimon wasn't needed. And together they really diluted Hououmon's first time to shine |
Finally got around to watching the new part of Tri.
I like the ending theme of this part. |
Just finished watching the new part and well it did have cool moments and even stuff I liked but for some reason I don't feel excited by it like the other parts. Now for my questions.
Was that a Hippogriffonmon that became Suzakumon? Also yay LoaderLeomon! I can't remember but did the kids tell the agent lady that the digimon would have their memories erased? If they did then what the hell is with her? Plus how the hell does she know that Tapirmon was her partner? Think she is going to die? I am fine with Yggdrasil being a villian if they do something good with that, But in Savers, isn't Yggdrasil the digimon god? If I remember right the Royal Knights had to convince him to attack the human world so what reason could he have for Tri? Ok fine an evil Genai, but why the hell was he so rapey? When he had Sora pinned down I literally was questioning if he was groping her tit or not, maybe even rip her shirt open with the way he was acting. Hopefully the next part can fix these issues we have. |
Digimon Adventure Tri is getting a stage show and guess who plays Tai.
Here is an easy hint: he saved a prehistoric warrior once. |
just watch Digimon adventure tri English dub. I can say I loved it and I loved some of the error dub fixed from the Japanese. loved all the cast part from a few one of the ~Biyomon to me new VA made a sound like the Biyomon on the screen on the dub was a different Biyomon, not the same one sora had. Joe was not much either. Tailmon. yes, im going by the Japanese name due to it easier to remember. was not right at all. I also say I can not watch tri in part anymore. I think the episode format does not give it justice. it meant to film and is much better as the film then 4 episode segments.

Aoninger will play Tai in the Digimon Adventure Tri stage show.

The English voice actors for the original Digimon monsters themselves return from what I can remember. I was told that the English voice actors for Tai, Izzy and Sora return while the others didn't.

I'm pretty sure Biyomon is a different actor, either that or she's just out of practice because she sounds kind of different.
