I'm not that big a fan of Tregear but seeing him turn to the camera like that had me gasping softly.

Is it just me or has the Ultra series gone full MCU with their stuff? Not to mention, the interconnectivity just feels more cohesive than rider and sentai combined.

MCU didn't invent continuity : P And it would naturally be more 'cohesive' than franchises that don't do it to begin with.

True, but when I think continuity within film MCU is the prominent name I would say, while DC takes the cake for TV and their animated films. As for cohesiveness I am talking compared to sentai and rider and the metal hero franchises trying out the whole Space Squad thing which I think was in the end turned out to be sloppy sadly. Hopefully at least with sentai Kiramager becomes the starting point/foundation for said cohesiveness.

You get a lot of Ultras in forms we haven't seen much of if at all, and some Ultras who haven't appeared in years! Plus, Andro Melos is in the mix which just adds a further uniqueness if we didn't have enough already!

Yes and yes. Not only does this seem like a good story that ties everything together, it also gives those that were forgotten a time to shine again. This probably is gonna go GOAT for me when we do our best of 2020 listings.

In preperation for the latest episode of Z I decdied to watch episode 19 of Ultra Q "Challenge from the year 2020" and wow gotta say I was sucked into all the way through from the transition wipes to how snappy the dialouge was. Honestly did not expect Kemur Man to grow giant considering there no Ultraman. And also Akiji Kobayashi being here as most Toku fans will know him as either Captain Mura from the original Ultraman show or Tobei Tachibana from the first 5 Showa Kamen Rider shows was here and it was so nice.I can't wait to see how Z connects back to this episode.

Not sure if his has been discussed before, but if you could create your own fusion monster from two existing Ultra monsters, what would you use?

Not 'my own' exactly, but I wish Celebro from Z would have some fusions unique to him, and including the likes of Genegarg and Barossa would be a given. A little unfortunate that his first time using the Z Riser just had him using all of Kei's! I know that episode was a big Geed tribute, but still.

Geed already took the one that immediately comes to mind -- King Galactron. Such a great robo gattai!! Not to mention all the 'most powerful' ones through all the Zetton stuff. Gomora's also gotten a chance to be screwed up, as has Ace Killer!

So how about a terrifying amalgamation of seigen? A Zettonian with a Kemurian, anyone? Guts and Nackle? Mefilas and Valky?

Huh I just realized - Celebro had no unique monster fusion transformation of his own yet.

I guess they're saving that for the finale?

The Ultra Brothers put on a cross by Yapool is seen as the over-the-top use of christian imagery in the franchise, but the most memorable instance to me has always been this.

(also I won't lie, the scene in context is so heartwarming and great to me that I totally buy into the imagery as being profound and awesome, as cheesy as it is)

So with Z nearing its end, what does everyone expect or hope from the next Ultraman show? The franchise and the show Ultraman will be 55 years old next year, Tiga 25, Mebius 15, and Orb 5 years old. And 55? If that is not a milestone I don't know what is. I am expecting something big next year and considering the franchise seems to have been doing well as of late I really hope they do some cool stuff.

I'm newb on Ultraman, but I'd like to see another All-red and silver Ultra again. As his original form anyway.

I just want it to be something that doesn't involve using old Ultras as power-ups. There's a 5% chance of that, at best, but I'd like to see something more independent again.

If they continue to find a new power-up which bases itself on a classic Ultra, then go outside the box like the upcoming Absolute Conspiracy!

Give us Ultra power-ups based on more obscure and characters who haven't gotten a lot of love recently. Since a couple are gonna be in Absolute Conspiracy, then it would be easy to do since they'll have already marketed some of them and essentially reminded people "Hey, this Ultra and that Ultra still exist!" (which might have been the strategy all along)!

Could go something like this...

"Powers of Great and Neos...COMBINE"

"Powers of Justice and Hikari...UNITE"

"Powers of 80 and Tiga...FUSE"

You get your wish and they're back to using monsters again like Victory and X. Legacy items till the end of time.

These days I actually dont mind them continuing to use legacy powers cause ever since the New Generation era it kinda became a staple. And considering how close knit things are within the lore it works for the franchise as opposed to Rider and Sentai who unless you are a milestone season it is non-canon or movie exclusive merch most of the time. And while I hope Tsuburaya gives us a season or two once in a while that does not involve them, in the end it is a business model that is helping Tsuburaya sustain itself at the moment. Cause we gotta remember Tsuburaya is quite small compared to Toei who does more than toku. To Tsuburaya Ultras and kaijus are their lifeblood, Toei got toku, non-toku dramas and movies, and animation departments.
