I didn't think Man of Steel was a terrible movie, just not a very good one. It had way too many flashbacks that randomly popped up, wasn't very colorful or hopeful, and Cavill was meh. The only thing that made total sense was Lois figuring out who Clark is right away.
Fant4stic'2 first 45 minutes were actually pretty decent. It was everything afterwards when it fell apart. |
March 28th, Grant Gustin will guest star as The Flash on Supergirl. :D
Since this will be all over the place soon, I didn't think spoiler tags were necessary. Source: Variety |

Kind of off topic but I've always found this funny about Batman...he's against using guns but rocket launchers and explosives are all fair game...I find it hard to believe that he's never accidentally killed someone with one of those. |

I've got mixed feelings on this episode of Arrow. A lot of it feels like a forced retread of what we already had, especially everything with Nyssa. On the other hand, I loved every bit that featured Felicity and Calculator. I also love all of the dialog Curtis was making with Felicity.

Watching Batman Bad Blood just makes me pine for something that isn't more Batman. God, he had the two Dark Knight Rises movies, the Damien trilogy, that one Arkham movie, and he was a major player in Flashpoint Paradox and JL War (Though he was rather downplayed in Throne of Atlantis, I'll admit).
I can only hope the upcoming Justice League Vs Teen Titans isn't really just Batman and Robin: Guest starring the Teen Titans. Oh wait, it is. Fucking hell...I love the DC animated movies, but they gotta stop riding Bat's dick... I haven't watched JL Gods and Monsters yet, though... |

Then I'll look into watching that soon, then.
And I didn't even know there was a Wonder Woman movie out. |

You know what would be an awesome movie? THe Fourth Worlds. Just have it adapt Kirby's stories but include an ending. No Batman in that at all. But then again, they would find a way to shove him and Superman into it. I really wish DC would go back to doing those Showcase shorts. I want another Jonah Hex and Spectre story. I also want to see stories on characters like Phantom Stranger, Dr Fate, The Question (imagine doing a Film Noir story in B&W), the JSA, etc. |

Gods and Monsters was actually a good movie...like I was surprised by how good it was. |

I haven't really been avoiding Gods and Monsters more I've just been constantly putting it on the back burner to the point where I just kind of forgot about it. |

I don't know about the Showcase shorts, I just want more feature length movies that aren't Batman and friends (Or at least something like Throne of Atlantis, where he's not hogging all the spotlight for no real reason). Give me a Dr. Fate animated movie. Give me a Question animated movie. Give me a...I dunno...Animal Man animated movie. |
I'd love to see the adapt Rot World for a Swamp Thing/Animal Man movie.

Because dang. https://pp.vk.me/c629309/v629309248/...dRXL7T58rs.jpg Sonny Liew's art is gorgeous and needs to be emulated in animation. |
A DC Animated movie that isn't Batman focused or Justice League featuring Batman would definietly be a nice change of pace. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening any time soon since he's the most marketable character DC has. That said, I am somewhat looking forward to seeing what they do with Killing Joke.
I would like to see more movies based on their Gods and Monsters though, and see what else they can do with that universe. |

Oh man that was down right awesome. I already love Earth 2. It's so 50s and yet very futuristic. I LOVE IT!!! I must admit that I didn't like Deathstorm having red fire. They should have made it blue. That aside, this was wonderful. And Velocity 7? Oh boy, we're only 2 more away from big things happening. Reverb was pretty awesome too and I can't wait to see Cisco try to figure his powers out now. In the end, just another amazing Tuesday night. I just wish Agent Carter wasn't on when Flash aired so I could watch all three shows back to back to back.
Lastly, we got to see Supergirl, Jonah Hex, the 90's Flash TV show, and the Legion ring when Barry and gang were traveling to Earth 2. THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!! |
A new interview with Geoff Johns has come out where he talks quite a bit about what Rebirth actually is.
http://www.comicbookresources.com/ar...to-dc-universe And here is DC announcing their Rebirth lineup. http://www.comicbookresources.com/ar...ed-price-point |
Quote:
I'm a bit happy on the same prices for all titles. Saves me some money. Also, this image was uploaded as well http://media.comicbook.com/2016/02/d...ser-170602.jpg From left to right: Superboy/Superman with a jacket (possibly Zero-Hour/Return of Superman era Superboy), Golden Age Flash/Jay Garrick (?), a hooded figure (Green Arrow?), another Flash (given that we can see hair, maybe Kid Flash), a female Green Lantern, and Supergirl. No clue on what this means but it could be some characters that will have their own title or maybe another Justice League/Society/etc.? |
The one thing I really really like about this whole Rebirth thing is that every book is gonna cost 2.99. This is probably the biggest factor for me in deciding if I wanna try any of these new books out :lol
|
Yeah, but they said that before and then 6 month's later half of their books were up to $3.99.
I have no faith in this half boot, but I hope it is done right. BTW, it's not like comics have never changed their numbering before. I had Amazing Spider-Man issues 30-62ish before it suddenly jumped to like 500 something. It was weird, but I got over it. JMS is just that amazing of a writer. |
http://comicbook.com/2016/02/18/firs...ally-released/

I'm down for giving Flash a chance, and maybe Superman and Batman.
I'm really getting tired of the Batman Beyond reboots. This is like the 7th time. |
Batgirl and the Birds of Prey?
Sign me up. |
I'd be more excited about Rebirth if they hadn't cancelled Doctor Fate. I wasn't able to keep up with it as much as I would've liked, but it was a great book from the issues I did read. Beautiful art, engaging story, and wonderful characters. Plus, it's always nice to see another brown superhero headlining a comic

EDIT: Well, perhaps not. He might have been going off of the press release. |
Quote:
The only series I know that is ending/cancelled in May is Starfire with Issue #12. But I'm guessing since Red Hood and the Outlaws is in the Rebirth Line-up, Starfire will most likely be in that series. |
"Justice League" starts filming in April. Zach Snyder's directing.
http://comicbook.com/2016/02/22/just...ming-in-april/ ...any hopes I might've had for a DC film universe are dying a slow, miserable, colorless, penis-shaped death. |
Quote:
And Rebirth sounds a lot like they are trying to get the books back to Pre-Flashpoint status quo without having to reboot. So something like the new Doc Fate is probably one of the first things that will be removed. |
Quote:
But I don't think Snyder will do a very good job at all... Dull, bleak, dark, and violent with a ton of mindless symbolism and a weak plot. I bet GL is being left out because he's too snarky for Snyder. |
I figured out the perfect counter for the DCCU. If you think of the movies as being on Earth 3, it all makes sense.

Also he would have just let those kids drown, instead of saving them anyway because he's Superman. |

"Dawn of Justice" will apparently have an R-rated directors' cut.
http://iearths.blogspot.ca/2016/02/r...ctors-cut.html This is almost certainly the exact direction they wanted to take things and absolutely, postiively in no way connected to "Deadpool" being a surprise box-office hit. |
Quote:
2. It's funny how they always talk about these director cuts, but then never actually release them. They did the same thing with The Incredible Hulk, Avengers 2, Godzilla, etc. |
That was a fantastic episode. I love the comment about Constantine currently being in Hell. Vixen was pretty awesome too and I hope we see more of her be it in the next season or Legends of Tomorrow. The lady they got to do her did a pretty nice job. Wish they would actually air that animated stuff on TV before this episode though to keep those of us that don't want to watch it on their app in the loop. There is nothing worse than being forced to watch something on a specific device because the company wants to be douchebags.
I will say that it seemed a little anti-climatic to just defeat Darhk that easily. It's kind of like Brick all over again, but at least everyone was well written this time around. Felicity being pissed makes sense. Just look at the crossover episode and the way she reacted. Here she at least had time to process everything. They'll be back together by the end though. Overall, a fantastic episode and a great one to leave off for a month long break with. |
Man, I'm bummed that they didn't put Vixen in Legends of Tomorrow
It feels like she would've fit in perfectly with that show. |
