And the Internet is already bitching. I personally am unsure how I feel. Mostly because the X-men since siding with Wolverine have just disinterested me for a while now. |
I think it's awesome that since people are creating new universes that they should change things. I mean that's the whole point of the multiverse concept. In another verse I'm hetero. For every decision we make, or decision made for us, in this verse it was a different decision in another. For instance, in this universe I'm gay. In another universe I'm a straight guy. In another I was born a woman, in another I was born a lesbian. The possibilities go on and on. I think it's stupid that people think that just because a majority of verses have one character as a straight guy, that ll the others must be the same.
When DC did it to Hal Jordan or Kyle Raynor, which ever one it was, I was so damn happy because I like the Green Lantern and always hoped that one day they would make a Gay Lantern character. |

and B.) Neither, it was Alan Scott, the 1st lantern and not the space-based one. They also killed his boyfriend/fiance in like the next issue, so while he's still gay, they haven't allowed him to have a relationship like they would Superman or Batman (which even if they eventually fail or end, last longer than an introduction issue). |

This is All-New X-Men, that's the original Iceman from the 60's in the regular 616 universe. It's not an alternate universe, this is a character whose been written straight for roughly 60 years worth of publication, with a future version of himself still existing in the present and being apparently straight. It's been revealed at some point in his life the younger Bobby was gay but he couldn't reconcile it with also being a mutant and being persecuted for both of these things. So the implication is that the adult Bobby has also been sort of living a lie and hiding his true feelings. Which is a pretty cool take on things. This is an actual X-Man, one of the founding members, in the main continuity, being outed. That's pretty huge. And clearly you must have been really happy about the Green Lantern shift considering you didn't even bother to know which one of them it was. Alan Scott. Which was done as a tribute to his son from the pre-Flashpoint/New 52 era of publication. His son Obsidian was gay, but the Flashpoint reset meant that the JSA characters were shunted off into Earth-2 continuity and some of them no longer existed, like Obsidian. So James Robinson wanted to have a fitting tribute for Alan's son by making Alan himself gay. It was really touching honestly. |
To be honest, I was really happy about the Gay Green Lantern. But the reason why I didn't know which one it was is because I was currently...ummm...indisposed of at the time of it's release. So I never truly got to know who it was. Also there are so many Earth based Lanterns that I get them mixed up.
Don't put me down man. I haven't read comics in a long time because of events that have happened in m life. I'm just be glad that I know some of the events that are occurring. So on that note, good day Den-O. |

so wait, if Alan Scott is gay, does that mean Jade won't exist? cuz isn't her green skin and stuff a direct by-product of Alan's power?
if so, well that sucks. I really liked Jade. |

Don't tempt them Ranger, they hear all and could easily make it worst than One Year Later (which I agree is crap, but I can think of 3 ways that could be far worse just sitting here). |

okay, I checked out that scene where Bobby is told he's gay...
that is not subtle dialogue at all. like, Jean is just short of brow beating him to admit it. especially considering Jean would probably be the most tactful in a situation as sensitive as coming out of the closet. |

As a Black man, when you just alter a pre-existing character's race instead of making a fresh new one, it bothers me. It bothers me that we're treated as just a palette swap, like it's meant to calm down those who want a character with a background like their own. "There, Asterix is black now. Quit whining and keep reading". Not sure how I feel about this costume. It could have been worse. Also he's not the same age as Dick or Victor, so we don't get the chance of their awesome friendship happening here. http://crimsonmonkey.com/files/media...14/Wally-4.jpg https://worldofblackheroes.files.wor...ash-new-52.jpg |

To be blunt, the team was genuinely terrified of her at one point. Quote:
Also, guys we have a DC thread, almost two pages of DC on the Marvel thread is probably too much. |
Netflix has ordered a second season of Daredevil, and it will have new showrunners.

Whatever though. It will be nice to not see Wolverine in our not just about Wolverine X-Men movies. |
Well, I knew about Jennifer Lawrence leaving. She said once she's one with this trilogy set, whatever comes after Days of Future Past, she's done.

They better find someone that looks like him!! Wolverine is practically immortal, he'll look the same for centuries. They need to find an actor that looks likes Hugh.

That would be a good change. But he would have to be attractive!! L.S. was a very attractive Sabertooth!

am I the only one who wants a buddy cop comedy involving Daredevil and Bojack Horseman?
|
So, we're getting an animated Spider-Man movie in-canon with the Cinematic Universe and helmed by the creators of The Lego Movie.
