That being said though, while I don't own him, SHF ZO still looks amazing especially how the lines hide the body joints.
|
I'm cool on Black and Black RX since the versions we have now are serviceable (though I wouldn't mind a 3.0 eventually).
But I REALLY want V3 and Riderman renewals. |
Imo, V3, Riderman, Skyrider and ZO are the most deserving of renewals right now.
X, Stronger, Super-1, Black, RX and the movie trio still look great and can still hold up in a display but those previously mentioned 4 all need something to upgrade them a bit more. |

Ah, yep you're right. Meant ZX.
Three riders whose names start with Z in some form gets confusing. |
Also, we arrived at the point where every time I read "ZO" I think it's short for "Zero-One" :lol
I also wish we would get more Showa. And in my opinion, aside from the ones already done every single one needs a Shinkocchou Seihou upgrade. |

Toei needs to hire some better creatives when it comes to names, because this is just getting ridiculous. Quote:

I think it's also worth noting that while we did get the 71 bikes, we never got Amazon's Jungler in Seihou. Though that's not too bad, it's not like the bikes SHF made years ago were awful or anything. They hold up a lot better than the figures!

I still think Black 2.0, Black RX 2.0, and ZO still look and feel great on display n my opinion. I was organizing my collection and I do think V3, Riderman, ZX, and Stronger do need updates. Stronger has issues with holding the Lighting in his hand without it falling off.

I'm very curious about getting an SHF Fourze Cosmic sometime in the future, but I have a Fourze Fire States SHF and I don't like the tendency the Switches have to fall out. I know this is pretty much line-wide, but did they get better as time went on? Does Cosmic have less of an issue with this?
|
It's weird, I remember tons of people saying to be careful with Fourze's switches when base states hit but mine were perfectly solid and snug...
Heck I forgot that was an issue until it was brought up just now. |
I wonder when Faiz will get the SS treatment?

Fourze will probably be next. I doubt Blade will get one because it has always been considered to be a solid figuart.

Blade is a solid Figuart, but it hasn't aged well. The proportions are severely outdated at this point. |
I'm of the opinion that even the Gaim stuff needs it. They're nice, but they are quite skinny. And Gaim is easily the worst of the Gaim figures.
But for me...I don't know how I could justify SS versions of many of them. Ryuki, Gaim and Drive are flawed, but I don't know if I could justify upgrading them. Blade on the other hand is getting replaced ASAP. |
Either Faiz or Fourze is next imo. I'd be absolutely blindsided if it was Ryuki or Blade.
|
At the moment I'm fine with Gaim and Drive as they are (Gaim mainly because I have the full cast and don't want to start over lol), even Fourze I can wait on since I still think he holds up well. Blade, Ryuuki and Faiz I can more than welcome SS releases for. Ryuuki and his fellow riders are great, but notably short. Faiz shows more of his age by the year. Blade's proportions are already mentioned despite how good the mold is.
|
I think for me the thing that harms Blade is the headsculpt. I can't pinpoint why - the size? the proportions? - but something feels... off about it.
I did wonder if there was something else wrong, but Chalice especially looks very good to me so clearly they nailed the body proportions even if in the modern day they come up a bit short. It's just Blade's figures that are weird to me. https://www.1999.co.jp/itbig22/10227286.jpg |
Oh, and King Form just looks... dire to me. Again, I'm not sure what it is; but either the armour is too big or the 'body' is too skinny. Even the old Souchaku Henshin toy looks better to me.

For me it's the head size. If it were slightly larger, I'd be perfectly content with Blade, and probably try to pick up Garren and Chalice to go with him.
And that's another thing, I own quite a few Gaim and Ryuki Riders...I have no interest in upgrading ALL of them, but just upgrading the main one would make the rest stand out. So I'm content with the originals for them. |
Not to mention that if they do upgrade and the SS looks superior to the rest of the original releases, you know that if they release more of them they'll all be web exclusives. Kabuto's riders? All TWE. Hibiki's? TWE. Even Beast was TWE and DiEnd was a convention exclusive.
It's the one trend I can't stand. I think with how well SS releases do, Heisei ones at least, they should release them more in retail. |
With the Blade figures it's definitely the head shape that throws them off the most. If they were more rounded their age wouldn't be nearly as noticeable, IMO. But yeah, basically everything pre-Gaim could really use an SS update if they don't already have one. And while my biggest desire is still for them to finally release the rest of Kuuga's' forms, if they want to do new Riders then Blade, Faiz, and Ryuki, definitely need it most.
|
I don't know what it is with Blade, something about the shape of the horn just looks very off, almost asymmetrical.

Functional Arms Change. Also if they did more than three tires for Drive... Seriously how did they never do a P-Bandai set of them? Quote:
The helmet is definitely off though. Just looks too small in comparison to the rest of him. Quote:

I will probably keep Ryuki because I have a special history with that figuart when I bought it. I do want Skyrider to get a SS treatment as well.
|
Kamen Rider Thouser! There seems to be some kind of twitter campaign with retweet goals that will reveal more about the figure? October release and 6600 yen.

Was able to get Kamen Rider Poppy second-hand for a good price last week so I went snooping for Para-DX since he's the only rider I'm missing from Ex-Aid.
Nippon-Yassan was the only place that had him for an acceptable price along with non-JP Post shipping options (No DHL, but UPS) so I bit the bullet. Hope it works out. He'd be the priciest piece of the set if he ships successfully but given my love of Ex-Aid it'll be worth it. |

I figured since you said "every Rider" not "every figure", but it's still impressive. Quote:

Given how messed-up things have been, I was surprised and almost* pleased to get a shipping notice on Figuarts Zero-One from Bluefin. I'm a little surprised this made it to their Anaheim warehouse from Japan.
* - The "almost" is because this is the one shipment I'd forgotten to update for COVID, so it'll be sent to my closed workplace unless I can get them to answer customer service e-mail on a weekend. |
Wait, they're starting to ship Figuarts Zero-One? I'm wondering if the Cali lockdown orders eased up on them, they mentioned on their twitter accounts that they've had their stock in-warehouse for a while now but couldn't start shipping cause of the Covid stay-at-home orders. Granted I was fine waiting for the one I pre-ordered given the situation but I'll also be more than happy if I get that shipping notice in the future.
