I haven't seen enough of the 2012 series to say for sure.

From what I've read the creators wanted the TMNT to be more ninja like, henchforth the more grey morals of the Turtles.

I understand being a ninja requires doing some nasty things in order to get goals done, but the Turtles need to be more heroic than this. Playing around with mutagen, putting taking down Shredder over stopping the Kraang (this one is somewhat understandable given what Saki did) therefore setting up the Foot Clan/ Kraang alliance and overall just being brats.

Is anyone else having trouble getting a video to play? Neither my laptop or my Iphone can start a video. Something has to be wrong with Youtube at the moment.

Actually YouTube has been fucking up for a while, for me. What happens is I can't turn the auto bit off and it defaults to HD? But then my internet can't handle it and it just crashes.

Anyway between that weird glitch thing I've been watching AVGN. Back when I used to be really into these internet comedy shows I loved AVGN but I honestly forgot all about him and it looked like he pretty much nearly stopped releasing videos all together. So it was kinda nice to discover he is still around, but also that there isn't so much to catch up on I'm totally lost.
