I love that. But is the SWAT song or is Churnabog rising from his Volcano to claim souls?
|
I'm currently watching a bit of Jetman since I heard that it is considered to be one of the best Super Sentai shows of all time. Also have been watching Abareranger out of curiousity shortly after watching the Power Rangers: Dino Thunder episode, Lost And Found In Translation on Netflix instant viewing and the reason I seen that is because I felt like it. I liked its series' (Abareranger) red ranger already after seeing the first three episodes and episode 10.
Before that, I watched a several episodes of Gingaman and while it's not a bad series from what I've seen so far, it's not hard to see why the series itself, compared to its PR counterpart, is really not all that good. And before that, I have been watching Gokaiger. So far I only got up until its 32nd episode and I really need to get back to it at some point. |

EDIT: Didn't see the other page to this thread, so I didn't see that Matrix already posted this. Oh well, you can never have too much Swat On Dekaranger. :D |

just saw Kyruger brave 2, it was okay, I mean for a new sentai its good, actually I love it it would be awesome!
I mean it was a serious episode... until they morphed... I mean I love the mood thy went with in the episode, but they "samba'd"... i just cant take it serious with that music, or the dance |
Just finished watching the first episode of Liveman which is a pretty impressive start to the series. I kinda want to try this series out ever since I saw its' tribute episode on Gokaiger, which is a very good episode from the storytelling standpoint in my opinion, and the story synopsis for Liveman that I read on Wikipedia seems to be pretty good as well.
I like the ranger suits of this series despite of not having enough of their main colors. I really love the helmets, especially Red Falcon's. It reminded me of the red ranger helmet of the RPM season in Power Rangers. Don't know why. The mecha piloted by Yellow Lion near the end of the episode which is known as Land Lion looks great within late 80's live-action TV show standards. The villains seem to be pretty interesting since three out of four of them were once friends of the main heroes and actually turn evil on their own free will and they look like, including this series' Big Bad known as Great Professor Bias, they could be real threats for our heroes to fight against and I'm a real sucker for most kinds of stories about heroes having to fight those they once consider as friends. All in all, I'm definitely giving this series a good watch and I'm also looking forward to viewing the later episodes and it also helps that the series is completely subbed. Yeah! :D Onward to episode two. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCEDfZgDPS8 Which appeared in Gingaman episode 10 as the MotW's main attack at one point. Weird huh? |

Boukenger Task 26 -- The Glass Slipper. For an episode based on a fairy tale, there's a lot of creepy elements here, including a monster stealing women's souls and leaving them trapped in a parallel dimension for all time. But then there's the part where the monster drains Daibouken's energy by kissing it.
Hrrn. Anyway, I thought the good parts outweighed the quetionable parts, and this was a good episode. Great characterization from Sakura and I enjoyed finding out a bit more about her backgound. The GoGo Marine finisher was nice as well. Plus the Super Sentai spotlight was shined on GoGoV, my personal favorite. |
Double posting this for everyones benefit.
Keep an eye out for the Let's Watch Wednesdays thread to pop up in the afternoon. Starting this week we're doing something special with it. For anyone whose posted in the discussions up til now that's good, if you haven't then I suggest you start. Let's just say you'll want your name in the running for whats coming up ;) |
Well, I was watching Goseiger. I made it through episode 6 when the show just completely lost my interest and I have started playing GTASA instead. I'm not giving up just yet, but I am definitely not going to end up making through it in 2 weeks like I had hoped.

Episodes 6-7 of Liveman.
Man, I honestly felt sorry for the kid at the end of this two-part arc. :( This is really turning to be a very good series so far. |
Episode 30 of Gokaiger.
Really liked this one, good episode for Joe who might possibly be my favorite of the main five, though it's still a three way tie between him, Luka and Marvelous. Though I do have one small issue, was I the only one bothered by the fact that they used the Hurricanger grand power to defeat the monster in the Liveman tribute episode? Other then that it was good. |

I could go on about my problems with Gokai, but I honestly feel the mecha battles in it are the lowest point of the series, imo. |

Super Live Robo! Beast grand power ever.

Episode 31 of Gokaiger
Holy shit and I thought the last episode was good. One Basco finally does something, and two holy shit he is terrifying! |
Oh yeah. Basco is awesome.

Episode 14 of Kakuranger. That... is really not Rito Revolto. Kinda reminds me of Wataru's douchey friend who became Ixa for a couple episodes, actually.

Rio and Mele are probably one of the only few who were there from the beginning until the end. |

Really? I liked him. He proved a good antithesis to Nago in keeping the straight forward mindset, but how differently they took their training.
|
Kakuranger 14. Jusho Fighters are still aweseome. Such a shame Kakuranger/Alien Rangers toys are so expensive. I need a complete collection of Battle Borgs. Junior is interesting. A lot of fun overacting. Also, Seikai might be my favorite Kakuranger at this point. Didn't except that.
Next week: Kunoichi! I've been waiting for this! |
I know I'm late on joining the gekiranger wagon but I finally got around to starting it. So watched the first three episodes and it's pretty awesome I will say the mech fights are really cool. My only issue is I feel the transformations are a bit too long. Over all though I like it. Oh and I think Jan is funny and awesome.
|
Finally watched Kaku 14.
In all honesty, if SRC decided to make a Muteki Shogun and the Juusho Fighters, I don't think I'd be able to resist :lol I'm seriously loving the Juusho fighters. It reminds me of when I had a Red Battleborg figure. I so desperately want it back, now xD Anyway, Junior is pretty neat. I always felt Rito was such a disappointment, having such a cool design but being dumber than Squat and Baboo. Nice to see him in a threatening light again. Also, oddly enough, I don't think I'd like Kakuranger as much if I marathoned it like I originally intended to do. Huh. Quote:
As for the transformations, don't worry. Gekiranger never does the full transformation again. The mecha fights are great, having a robot that's more than a tank with legs and a big sword, being acrobatic without CG doing all the work. And I'm glad you're liking Jan. Lots of people had to warm up to him. |
Yeah, I had all 5 Battle Borgs and Alien Rangers and I wished I had kept them when I first watched Kaku. Hell, I also wish I had kept the Megazords despite Shogun's throbbing arm action.
|
Yeah I really want to catch up and discuss with every body but over all I like the show a lot. Also Master Shafu hands being disproportionate is funny and creepy at the same. Got to episode 4 and I like the five venom-ken and Rio's monster form is awesome.

Speaking of Enter, finished marathoning Go-Busters two days ago and all I can say is...dat ending. Manly tears were shed when Jin died . Such a damn good show and it really saddens me that it's target audience (Japanese kids) didn't watch it or buy it's merchandise, because I would love to see Toei do more Sentai shows like it. Caught up on Kakuranger and Kyoryuger today. Kaku continues to be OTT and awesome, while Kyoryuger is still shaping up nicely. |
Just marathoned episodes 23-25 of Gekiranger in one sitting. I hadn't intended to watch all three, but it was the introduction of GekiViolet and that's hard to stop midway through. My thoughts? Those episodes were mostly really, really good (23's "delinquent Ran" plot was incredibly stupid - why was she wearing a schoolgirl costume? KaGeki can remove make-up?). The stuff with Gou, though, man that was good. I'm really liking him already, especially once he stopped doing the fist-to-forehead gesture every three minutes.
Oh, and for Toei stock location bingo we can add the rundown abandoned church from Ryuki Episode Final. |
I'm watching Gokaiger. Episode 5 is everything. I hope the story makes it into Megaforce , even though the equivalent wouldn't make sense timeline wise.

And adding that to the rock quarry and Edo set, all we need is the stadium and the beach with the crashing waves that plays behind the "Toei" logo :lol |

The Gou plot for the following episodes is really awesome. Though he does seem to needlessly be a dick at first. I like his style and LOVE that costume. But the convenientness of his Shigeki being able to counter Rinki/DoRinki so well is one of those kind of moments I hate in sentai. The right place at the right time kind of thing that's so perfect it saves the teams ass. He's still awesome, just kind of shoe-horned in to the plot. |
