AmiAmi was a nightmare. Somehow I got a Zero-One order in for a great price but shipping restrictions are holding it back. Their used items page is great though, I got SS Double and Build Hazard there last year

BBTS seems to get all the retail releases at a reasonable price but I don't think their PO go up the same day as Japan. I would refresh their page for days at work waiting for OOO to drop

Tokullectibles had Valkrie for a pretty decent price and I managed to get a PO for Tajador in from them as well

What's a good place to get all the web exclusives?

I switched over the Anime-Export, the prices are usually better than NY and they allow me to group orders by month - another shitty thing at NY was that if two items came out the same month but were announced at different dates - tough luck, pay shipping twice.

BBTS gets retail releases through Bandai's north american distributor, not bandai japan, so thats why they have a month delay. Prices are on par with japanese releases but the downside is the delay

web exclusives are not distributed through bluefin so BBTS is working thru a middle man and jacking up the prices accordingly. There's literally no reason to go to BBTS for TWE, find your own middle man, otherwise ur just paying for an extra layer

Weird request but I figured I'd ask, can anyone who owns them post a pic of SHF Vulcan on the Rider Macher? I feel like Fuwa deserves a bike and the colours are a pretty close match.

It's definitely longer in the show, but it will look odd on the belt.

Not only did they go overboard on the length, it's a stupid idea really. The handles are longer on the hero props so the suit actors can have a better grip on them. When attached to the belt they're normal sized. The figures have no trouble holding them, though.

Personally I would've not changed the handle and instead retooled the belt and gun for it to properly slide in instead, rather than tabbing in. The only worthwhile thing in the set is the more detailed progrise keys.

I get why they done it because it is technically more accurate, but this is definitely one of those cases where I like... don't really mind, at all? Heck, I didn't even realise until they made it. I've been considering getting Rampage Gatling when it happens and if I do I certainly won't feel the need for anything like this.

The finisher thing is absolutely awesome though and I'd be excited to see ones for the other Zero-One riders! Heck, I'm surprised they haven't yet been done in Bandai's own Acrylic Logo line!

Just quoting this cuz it kinda got buried quickly. My main concern is whether or not Vulcan, as a newer Figuart, may be too big for the bike.

At this point SHF_Upgrade can just give us the Zetsumeriser and fully transformable Attache weapons. What 3rd party group made the Build Hazard Pre-henshin molds? I feel like they should do the Zea 3D printer.

Stood my Mach next to my Vulcan. He's not too tall, and hardly noticeable, but he is MUCH bulkier in the limb area than Mach. Also, Vulcan deserves to have a 1/12 AIMs van! Where can I buy a 1/12 van?

A lot of people are painting a Scooby Doo van black and using that. Not 100%, but if you could find one and put in some work it'd look nice.

So hey, what's the deal with the SHF Shinkengers? From what I hear their joints are incredibly fragile and prone to breakage, but how bad actually is that and is it that much worse than other sentai SHFs? Furthermore, are there versions of the molds that are much better; such as perhaps the SDCC Power Rangers 5-pack?

I can't speak for the regular versions, but I have the SDCC 5-pack and have never had any issues with them. They don't feel any more fragile than any other Figuarts I own.

I've had no breakage, but my Shinken Red can no longer stand up. Gold is okay though.

I have, in fact they were the first Figuarts I ever bought, so I used them quite a bit at the time! I've had them boxed up for a few years now, but when I was actively posing and displaying them they never showed any signs of being prone to breakage if handled carefully (As you would with pretty much any other Figuart).

I've had both Red and Gold since initial release and both are still fine. No fragility, no looseness. SDCC set is perfectly fine, too. Only real issue I have on any is Super Shinken Red's helmet left light red paint rub on the inside of his collar in the back due to being in-package for so long.

Was doing some more old Figuarts catch-up and found both the Kyoryu Blue/Green and Kyoryu Black/Pink two-packs for just over $100 each on Ebay so I jumped on them. After the Go-Busters I really wanted to finish my Kyoryugers since I love and have a sentimental spot for the team (first Sentai I watched as it aired). All I need is Gold and I'll have the set.

Where did you buy from? the place might be able to give you a new one.

Got it from Bluefin and from my understanding they don’t replace items for cosmetic reasons unless Den O came in blue lol

I can't tell what kind of damage it is from that picture but,

If it's a scratch and the bare plastic is revealed, you can paint it.

If it's a scuff in which something else left a colored mark, you can sound it out with ultra fine sandpaper.

I wasn't aware that the Shinkenger figures were prone to breaking, I have most of them (except female Red) and I don't think I had any problems with them. Admittedly they have just been sitting in my display untouched for a long time now but they are still standing. Haha. I think maybe my Super Shinken Red might have slightly loose hips but I don't remember. My Gokai Red definitely has a cracked hip joint though so he's a bit loose.

My SS Den-O came and now that I have 5 of these little buggers, I'm curious.

Is there a particular reason that my Drive has a static belt while all the others are moveable?

Drive-era and below Figuarts have irremovable belts except maybe the belt proper. When they made improvements in the sculpt starting with Ghost, the belt buckle is now a rubber-y strap around the figure's hips.

I don't mean to argue because I'm new, but my Fourze has a loose belt and he's pre-Drive

It's not exactly static but it's very tight-fitting. It won't exactly swivel around easily but it can be shifted up and down a bit if you pose him in a way that shows a bit of a gap and want to move it to cover it up.

It's been up for a little while now and it looks glorious! Very affordable too at 3500 yen; pre-orders go up august 3rd

Ramblings of a KR Figuarts Fanboy
 

Hi! First time posting here, but I guess I've lurked off n on for a while.
I recently started getting back into growing my KR collection. I have a nice amount of stuff but really cut back several years ago. Now I see that the shinkouccho seihou line has really grown, and the main line has gotten bigger and better too! It is pretty overwhelming seeing everything at once, and seeing the prices now of figures that were any kind of web-exclusive! Is it normal to end up paying 60-80% more for an exclusive if you miss the pre-ordering boat? For example, SS Zanki came out only last year for around $70, but now he's $120-140. It's also confusing too when I see new figures coming out for pre-order at prices almost that high!
I guess this is just the nature of the beast at this point.

Anyone have any recommendations as far as the "best" sites/shops that they stick with? What about local to the US vendors, as it seems Covid has halted a lot of postal traffic coming to/from Japan at this time? The recommendations from Bluefins site are cool but curious if there are others.

How do YOU justify your pricetag limit on a Figuart? I personally love Shotaro and KR Joker... But do I love him enough to pay over $200 for him? Maybe it will be cheaper someday? Or maybe this is my last chance EVER?!

Does anyone else make checklists for figures like this? Do you have an acquisition order you try to stick with, or will another figure's availability move it higher up your buy-list?

I’m fairly new to collecting these figures. After I watched a couple seasons I started buying up all the main characters from those shows. I plan on eventually having all main Hesei riders but I’m limiting myself to watching the season first before getting the figure. I’m also not a completionist , so I’m sticking to main forms or any suit I think looks cool

I do have a checklist that I ranked as immediate pre orders, stuff I’m waiting to watch first , or when the price drops.Basically any main rider that gets the SS treatment will be an immediate pre order for me; it’s a figure I would get anyway and it’s better to acquire it before it goes up higher on the after market.

For new seasons if I like the design I’ll probably pre order, but I’m learning the retail releases can be harder to get than web exclusives

There’s plenty of other stuff I’d like to get from shows I’ve already seen but I’m waiting for shipments to go back to normal

Figuarts does some metal heroes stuff here and there, right? What do you think the chance that they'll ever release a Jiraiya figure is?

Also, what's a reasonable price for Akarenger from Gorenger? When I was in Japan, I stupidly passed one up for ~~$12, and I didn't want to pay $40 for one after the fact. Now the cheapest price I see is ~~$75. Should I just grab one before it goes up even further?

Pretty much the rule of thumb for me is if it's below 100$ and if I could place it as a pre-order among my other pre-orders. I don't just buy SHFs, I also buy Figma, Plamo, and other stuff, so I tend to budget around what I could and couldn't buy. Tho, sometimes I get an impulse buy every now and then (SS OOO and Cross-Z Charge.) I just buy up three riders per season, mostly only the ones that are retail. Tho, I did compromise this year by buying Jin.

If you can't buy a specific rider's figuarts, you can always check for its Figure-Rise Standard counterpart. Kamen Rider Joker has a model kit that's most likely around 30-40$ around places.
