I will have Blaze!!
|
We've only seen the one render. We have seen renders of Blade holding the briefcase for instance. Unlike other figures(well maybe Shadow Ranger), not all the accessories can be shown off in one render. Only got two hands and all.

That little thing off to the side that some think confirms his tonfas and others say is just an energy effect...to me at least it looks like Tanya's rarely used nunchucks, colored blue! I seriously hope I'm wrong here, but I'm currently of the opinion that maybe someone at Hasbro made an oops-y! |
We know what effect part Zeo Blue is supposed to come with though, and it doesn't look like that. The fact that it's solid colours and not a single transparent colour confirms to me that if it's not the tonfas, it's definitely not an effect part

Reminder of the pics we got.
The energy effect is clearly this long thing that matches whats happening in that box. https://news.tokunation.com/wp-conte...Zeo-Ranger.jpg https://news.tokunation.com/wp-conte...e-Ranger-2.jpg Quote:

It's almost Christmas and I bought two Lightning figures. One was Kimberly, the other was a gift to myself from "Santa." I'll reveal that the day of Christmas.

So end of the year assessment, I'd give the line so far a low B-
The bodies Hasbro are using are a great complement to the Power Ranger brand. Their picks have been pretty good and most figures have had their accessories. Downsides Quality control is terrible. If what they did this year is the same in 2020, my grade would drop to a C-. Those bodies are nice but not when the paint apps are so shoddy. You can't blindly grab a box without a high chance of a noticeable defects. I know some people think this is a premium line. It's not but that doesn't mean the QC get's to be that bad. DC Gold - Wtf happened there? The hands they would have gotten away with but the neck? Speaking of necks, um Hasbro even with the helmets, they still got necks. Misleading Renders - Shadow Ranger, MMPR Visor, and FS Green all depict paint apps or colors that are not on the final product. If they were fancy illustrations that would be one thing but the render is supposed to represent the final product. The face molds I personally don't see too much as a problem but some have made me go "Who is that?" Accessories, DC Red should have had the Trex smasher. I don't think the form matters but that part was very unique. The cheaper plastic and joints have been an issue. Shadow Ranger and MMPR Pink specifically have then thin elbows and knees. That flexible plastic may help in some cases but it's also more susceptible to deformation. Lack of female figures. One figure(which they no longer sell on Hasbro's website) was a female character. Also while not like the sexist Bandai figure, still I don't know why they made the arms so small and weird. Her arms have a flat side for some reason. For a first year I'm giving them a bit of slack but next year they need to address these issues. Improving QC would take my score to an A. That's priority. |

Most of the paint issues don't bother me. I can always fix that myself. But I agree the limbs are a bit flimsy at times and prone to warping. My Kimberly figure looks like she has rickets. And the lack of female figures is inexcusable. |
Really my biggest issue with the line so far is one that will likely never change. Personally, with how good the diaphragm joints are on most of these figures, I wish they'd get rid of the reverse ab-crunch and just give each figure a traditional waist twist instead.
And I know I'll probably get shot for saying this, but I also would've preferred if they'd just outright skipped the un-helmeted heads. Especially if it meant we could get other accessories instead like more weapons and/or extra hands. Overall, with the figures I've bought from the line, I've been very lucky in terms of QC. Although my DS-MMPR Black had reversed biceps, but that was an easy fix. Hopefully with the price getting bumped up next year, so too will the quality. |

It's not that Bandai America couldn't do it but they had this warped sense that the bodies had to look like that and refused to change. Those designs should never have left the concept phase. Paint issues depend. A minor dab of paint needed? At that price point i expect that. It's that some of the alignments are so bad that you would need to repaint the whole figure to fix it. That is not acceptable. Take Drakkon for example. Some of the helmets are 30% offset with the paint apps. Quote:
Oh man i can't agree on the diaphragm. I want that to be standard on the Marvel Legends figures. I love that additional articulation. That only only I could see to appease would be more articulation in the ball joint. Same with the heads and I don't really know if nixing them will really bring in those accessories. The price bump is more for the trade issues and not to make better products. |
