Now that I've finished Faiz. (which I found to be pretty darn good!) I've started rewatching OOO. I was watching it as it aired but dropped off around the 25th or so episode because of real life stuff getting in the way. This time I'm going to finish it for sure! Only a couple of episodes in so far but I'm having about as much fun as I remember having the first time around. |

Gentaro is fun, but he can sometimes ruin tension. It's not like the WizarDriver completely effing over an entire dramatic scene, but sometimes Gentaro's reaction to what just happened seems too forced, almost like he's in denial, but he's not. He's just surprisingly okay with what just went down.

That said, I thought the acting in the series was fine, although I am gaging that more in a comparison to what Power Rangers has to offer because comparing these tiny budget niche kids dramas and the casts of unknowns they have to other mediums with more recognised actors is a little unfair. Still with THAT SAID it looks like it isn't all Oscars on the original side either, as shows like Kuuga showcased some absolutely terrible acting. |
Blade 4 and 5
All these things/people spontaneously combusting reminds me of Ghostbusters 2. Though, I suspect it's an Undead at work. Speaking of which, whoever released the Undead...had the goal of gaining eternal life, eh? Makes sense, I suppose. Even if the Undead aren't really undead and just...various monstrosities. Kenzaki's probably the most superhero-y out of all of the main riders I've seen so far. Parents die in fire when he was young, since then he vowed to save everyone. Pretty cool, all in all. Also, I'm highly unsurprised that Koutaro spilled Kenzaki's identity to his little sister... Hajime getting weird psychic messages from some Undead, presumably. That can't bode well for him... Hajime seems like a pretty good guy too. Even if he is bizarrely 100% more antisocial when he's in his Rider state. I also liked that Kenzaki figured out Hajime's identity fairly quickly. It'd be kind of annoying to have a dozen episodes with him having no idea who the third Rider was when it's that obvious. I know Tachibana's angry and all because he slowly dying...but if he was willing to ask for help, it seems like things'd go easier for him... Also, I've mentioned this before, but it's really a nice change of pace to have these fights all in different locations that aren't a city. I like fights in a city, I don't mind them at all. But there's been...snowy hills, caves, beaches, forests. I like the variety. I guess it's all because it's in a rural type area. |
