Chaotic arguments aside, I hope this isn't the most exciting thing about Power Rangers will have to look forward to. |

This is why I get so bent out of shape. years ago at a con A media blasters rep said "I'm always trying to get my bosses to license more Sentai" Which I took to really mean Toku. so being young an niave I tried a web petition to show support and after a tousand signatures sent them a print out with a proffessional cover letter. Throughout all of this TV-N was calling me a liar, saying no such rep existed and I was making it up. back then there was another Toku Web site Called Japan-Hero. the owner of the site was a marketing major so after all the "I was a liar" I went to another Con and got the reps name. The owner contact them and we got a second more formal push going. Again TV-N said WE were now liars and did everything they could to harrass us. mentioning it on their boards got you banned and the thread deleted. Jump forward to ANOTHER con, it was aksed in front of an Audience to the president of Media blasters......not if they WERE GOING to release a Toku, but merely if they were INTERESTED. they said yes. TV-N now began to call Me, the owner of Japan Hero and EVERY NERD SITE who reported on that panel liars. to the point where members of TV-N got one of those "We're going to post an email exchange we've been having with..." sort of news stories. Then Kamen Rider the First got released. And Media blasters stated (In fact I just talked to the president back in Jan. and he re-stated this) that so many fans pushing for something got them to release it. Then TV-N said the DVD stole their subs. (comparison attached) The point? Some person said something to me, Someone one the internet who hasn't there refused to believe it and engaged in a campaign to prove it.....and even once they were wrong kept attacking. And what became of all those involved? I own a two Toku DVDs from Media Blasters (ALL i ever wanted out of it) and TV-N eventually booted out some of their founding members (those same ones who engaged in an almost 18 month campaign of harassment) So that's why years later I get bend out of shape when someone tells me I don't know what I'm talking about when I relay something that HAPPENED. |

I'd take an actor who wanted more money and was a bit bossy and pushy over someone who I don't know from Adam demanding people give them money and insulting them when we ask why. Oh right, it didn't happen. Quote:

Here's the most ironic thing in all this: You won't believe for a minute that Cardenas has changed, based on personal experience, but when two people (one the Admin of this website) tell you that these guys are douchebags, the thought process you have is that "well, people change." Time does change people. And so what if Cardenas demanded more money, wanting more pay, he certainly didn't reach out to the fans themselves and insult them in the process. Quote:
Honestly what this boils down to is that, you seem to enjoy being abused by people, and you hold yourself in high regard because you had connections on the show. Big. Fuckin'. Deal. Quote:
I'm not trying to sway anyone here. The question was asked, why no one is caring about this over, you know, real news and the response was in kind by both myself and Kickback. Quote:
It's called being cautious based on initial reaction. Nothing more. Like what you want to like, or "hate" it. I care not. |
I own the Masked Rider the First DVD, enjoyed it (although the movie itself is not something to watch after a tiring day of work... zzzz) and immensely appreciated the effort Media Blasters made to spread Kamen Rider in the US.
I never got it when the subs were originally floating around, but I did later somehow find the retired TV-N subs of the movie. Never got around to watching them both side-by-side, see which makes more sense, but this is the first I'd ever heard of a claim that Media Blasters stole TV-Nihon's work. Weird and almost certainly untrue, but interesting to hear. We should keep this thread on-topic though. EDIT: That includes the heated argument over the he-said, she-said nonsense. |
Just to let the record show - I have nothing personally against the creators of MMPR: A Fan Film. Nothing at all. My experience with them was "looking through the window", and their dialogue with fans at another site didn't sit well with me. But that's my personal opinion, everyone is entitled to their own.
At the end of the day, I'm just glad that Power Rangers is growing in exposure and I hope that it will continue to do so, no matter the outlet it uses. I will happily promote MMPR: A Fan Film when and if the creators ever choose to contact me directly. :) |

Interesting insight. Guy doing this claims to be a professor of cinematography, when in reality, he's a student. Wants to get in to the business and decided that Power Rangers has adult fans and they would be "easy to steal" and make his work popular. This will get sued. This will get shut down. |
