If you're going to pay $40 than you may as well just buy the game new and support the developers. Stop whining, they will never get this passed to begin with. Not gonna happen. Even if it did, I'm so sick and tired of the ridiculous sense of entitlement that people hold. It's ridiculous.

True, but it's not entitlement, it's just that they're, in a way, taking away peoples' freedom. It's just not good business. How long do you think screw people over without getting away with it? It's going to bite them in the butt (if it's true). I hope it's not true, but like I said, if it is...then it's a deal breaker for me. No backwards compatibility? I can see both sides of the argument, but if you want to play your 360 games...then just don't sell your 360, save a bit more, and buy the One. You'll still be able to play those games on your 360.

Yes, but at the same time, this is nowhere near new for them. Look at what we have now for the 360. You must be logged in and online in order to just play the arcade games that you paid your hard earned money on. Is that right? Hell no it isn't, but it is the way it is. Not saying that it's right, in fact it's sickening. Nobody has been causing an uproar over that though, but now all of a sudden everybody is yelling about their rights as consumers? Either go all or nothing. This is not new. And again, I really REALLY doubt that this will come to pass. Hell, I agree with you, but saying that you'll give up over a $20 difference that will support hard working developers is just ludicrous. And let's not even go into backwards compatibility. We're barely getting that as it is. I've been saying this for years about the 360 every single time my hardware failed... I feel as though I am more just licensing a rental of the games that I purchase over actually owning it. God knows the 360's won't last. It's bullshit. Whether from Sony, MS, or Nintendo. There should always be a new outlet to play what we have already purchased. There is no excuse not to have it's inclusion.

Ok...say a used game is $20...and it's impossible to find new. That's $80 rather than $60. I'm an 18 year old without a job (though, I'm trying to get one) so $80 is a lot of money to me, and even if you took that part away (since it only applies to me) $80 is quite a bit closer to $100. If it were a $5, maybe a $10, then whatever. Even if we were to ignore the money side. It's the principle. You also mentioned arcade games, that's a bit more understandable since you got it off of Xbox Live, rather than buying it in a store. I think the reason why there isn't any backwards compatibility is because the architecture is so different, so if they included it, it might bump up the price by $100. Then you would have people complaining that it costs too much.

and what about the kids? (and before anyone says "kids only play smartphone games" No. I've seen many a kid at Gamestop with their parents). When I was younger, my mom only bought me used games. Do you really think that parents are going to spend $20 on a game, only to then find out that they have to spend another $60 just so their kid can play it? Not unless that kid's parents are very wealthy, and the kid is spoiled. Worst-case scenario, they would spend however much on Angry Birds and let their kid borrow their tablet, so Microsoft (and by extension, the developers) aren't be making very many sales at that point.

In what situation can you NOT find a game new? There are so many avenues for purchasing games today, that you're just reaching now. Maybe if it's a really old game that is discontinued, but I really don't see any scenario where you won't be able to find a new game. Also, job or no job, $80 is a lot for anybody.

How is it more understandable because it's purchased off of live? They literally lock you out from accessing content that you own.

I'd rather pay more money that watch the back catalog I have spent money on fall by the wayside. What a waste of money. The 360 isn't like Nintendo where it'll last forever. It was designed to break.

Perhaps people weren't complaining about Acade games, because it's only a portion of your games, not all of them.

*sigh* Whatever, I'm done arguing this point. Another reason I'm going Sony is because I just don't care for Xbox exclusive games. Sony's exclusive titles just seem more interesting to me.

I just thought we were discussing, lol. I wasn't really trying to argue. I already told you that I agree with you on the absurdity of it, but again, I doubt it will actually happen.

When it launched the exclusives for the PS3 were a joke. Now it's the other way around. I just prefer 360 for the online portion. I'm betting that Sony will be putting a lot of time into sprucing up that department now.
