This episode was poor, but Wizard has had about three solid episodes before that, too little too late granted, but to act like the Wizard is the worst Rider show ever and to claim it does NOTHING right is total utter bollocks. You can dislike the series but flat out lying to prove a non existent point infuriates me, as both a person with a brain and as a fan of the show. Gaimu on the other hand is currently the complete opposite, the threads are running wild with people claiming things like 'this is their favourite Rider series' 'this show is gonna be the best Rider show ever' etc etc and then someone comes in and goes 'hey guys I actually think this idea is kinda s-' and suddenly they're in 28 Days later right before when Jim gets rescued thanks to Molotov cocktails. Being excited for the series is fine, but not being excited for the series is okay as well, there have been outlandish statements on both sides based on very little information, but for some reason outlandish hype machine churns are rewarded and those who actually take a step back from that are outed. And the fact that you took me bringing up Gaimu as an attack and went into some huge rant defending the series, when the series never needed to be defended, giving me my motivations for me apparently - the attention was never to be drawn away from Wizard, you'll find me criticising the series in length in every single Wizard thread ever. But I'm balancing it with the stuff that works, because I like the show and I wish more people knew it was okay to like parts of the series, even if they dislike it overall. Gaimu was simply a recent, and perfect example, of the opposite of the sheep Toku mentality. You need to stop assuming things, and going off on the handle with your assumptions, without checking the facts first. I like you, you're a cool dude, but every argument we've ever had on this forum is you assuming wrongdoing is being done and taking your assumptions as facts and lighting your torches. Also sorry wasn't trying to start an argument, I'm just tired of Split Lip's bullshit accusations and him constantly making me look bad, I rarely get my say on the matter so my cards are on the table and I'm done. If he wants to instigate it further than he already has I'll ignore him. |
Locke, Split, please move this along. It isn't the right Thread, and this is getting to be a post away from becoming something worse.
So please. Let's get this back on topic. |

- Archbishop Wing (V3) - stood around looking silly for six episodes, most of which were recycled plots from the original series, then died. - Kai (Den-O) - gurning at the camera =/= a coherent plan. - Dr. Maki (OOO) - yes, I went there. - Gamou (Fourze) - he totally has a goal. Really. Honest. I'm not saying Wiseman is a good villain, but at least we know what his basic goals are, he comes across as at least a bit mysterious and not just undefined, and you can't knock his little doll off his arm and then watch him spaz out like he just drank a cocktail of 4Loco and bad LSD. Seriously. Destroy the little doll, Maki rolls around until he bites his tongue off and bleeds to death, problem fucking solved. Use your brain, Eiji. |
The problem with Wiseman is that the writers of Wizard seem to build their episodes like this.
"Okay we need two piles, important things and unimportant things." "Okay." "You sorted the plot points?" "Yeah." "Okay I'm gonna take these important things and put them in the 'off screen' pile, then take these unimportant things and put them in the 'on screen' pile." TL;DR All the important stuff never gets any screentime and largely functions off screen, so for all we know Wiseman could be the greatest villain of all time with a flawless plan, but we just don't get to see any of it. |

Anyway, I liked this episode. It's a bit annoying that Wizard decided to go into plot overdrive now, but I think it's succeeding. My one complaint is that Rinko used her purse as a weapon. This only bothers me because of her gunslinging identical twin in Movie War Ultimatum, because that character was awesome and needs to be in the series. |

Nitou started out fairly obnoxious but it was such a 180ยบ turn from Haruto it was like a breath of fresh air. Also he's had a stronger character arc than Haruto. He started off fairly opportunistic and now he's pretty altruistic in his motives. Whereas Haruto's arc is really him just thawing out and starting to enjoy being a Wizard. I think having Nitou as the lead all along would have made those early 10 or so episodes far more entertaining. Also I thought Kyoryuger was popular? I haven't been reading the threads here since I'm a little behind on watching it but the impression I've gotten is there's a minority who quit watching early on and hate it but a majority who stuck to it and have become big fans. I'm definitely in the latter group. Anyway, I don't understand these arguments over shows. Can't people just not post in the threads of the stuff they don't like? I didn't like what I saw of Goseiger, I don't feel the need to poke my head in threads about it whenever it comes up. It's like these cranks who come into the Wizard threads JUST to down-vote the current episode in the poll. Why? What does that accomplish? They do it before they even would have had a chance to even watch the episode. Sometimes this board can be more childish and petty than 4chan. |

That depends, I've watched 46 episodes of the show now and I'm determined to finish it. If I don't like something that happens I'm perfectly entitled to complain about it in a discussion thread and link it back to the problems of the series as a whole. Same goes for anyone who's doing the same thing as I am.
If you're coming into the thread to simply say its crap before its even been subbed, then yes I genuinely don't understand what they are trying to achieve other than "anonymously" bash a show even though it takes one click to see that its the same people every week and they never actually comment on the episode itself. |
