Yeah, it is a A LOT of fun. Myself, my girlfriend, and a few of our friends have made friends with some of the voice actors that have been coming on a yearly basis, so we usually spend a lot of time on the hotel's patio hanging out with them on Friday and Saturday night. In fact, I watch them all get drunk together and laugh since I do not drink. That is by far the highlight of the convention for me. I mean, the dealer's room is cool, but I can buy all of that stuff online if I really wanted to, I cannot meet the VAs online.
In fact, last year Tony Oliver was there and we were chilling with him, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (voice of Motoko in Ghost in the Shell), and Clarine Harp (VP of Funimation's marketing dept, who will be back this year) on Friday night for nearly 4 hours just talking about random nonsense and having fun with it. It's also easier to get their autographs then rather than missing out on the convention to sit in the autograph line all day on Saturdays. :-p The next fun portion is doing my panels, because I don't have to wait in line for 40 minutes to get into the room. |
