Yeah, I haven't seen the movie but that sounds very... unheroic. The Rangers shouldn't be intentionally trashing anyone's property or taking joy in it. That's a dickish thing to do, and makes it seem like they could potentially become super un-heroic if you just happen to make them mad.

I'm liking the Red and Pink now. Rest, not so much, especially Yellow who looks a lot like Pink. How they tweak the changes in the sequel.

I teared when Zack told his story about his sick mom. Which is funny, I saw the TV spot of him riding the Zords and I was like, "he can't really act" but he surprised me.

The staff of the movie are interested in making Tommy Oliver female. I don't have nostalgia for the series but this WILL cause a shitstorm regardless. Though it'd be a neat way for Trini to get more screen time tbh

Tommy from a alternate dimension where he stays evil under Rita commands, and steals the White Power coin as well as Saba from Jason allowing it merge with his Dragonzord coin.

They are very much teenagers keep in mind; impulsive even in their best moments. It didn't seem intentional to me. She accidentally crushed their car and had a moment of pride in that because they were mean to her earlier. The situation is like this: she used to be part of their clique of bad people, but she went too far and did a terrible thing to one of her friends so they kicked her out of the group, then continued to constantly tease her after the fact. It's a very highschool kind of scenario, and honestly if I were in her shoes at her age? I'm not sure I could hold back a smile if I personally felt like they got some kind of comeuppance for being mean to me. It's completely immature, sure, but that made it seem more real in my opinion.

It will. Especially considering that Tommy is the most iconic character of the WHOLE franchise. They already make Rita a Green Ranger, so the excuse of saying 'but a girl can be a Green Ranger too' would be redundant.

I would honestly be down for a female Tommy. It would make for a nice twist and (like the cast have said) provide a gender balance you never see in Power Rangers.

Would be interesting. Power rangers Twitter posted Rita's helmet which is cool. Although some sites are taking it as a tease for the sequel which it kind of is but the helmet is damaged and clearly female. It's nice as we didn't get the best look at her in ranger form before boom! mooo.....

I'm surprised Kickback, and all his knowledge or the different PR seasons, especially RPM, would say this. Would early elementary students grasp Doctor K's backstory in RPM? Or Jenn being torn between Alex and Wes in Time Force? Or even Master Org's psycho history in Wild Force?

Not every PR series has talked down to it's audience, and I feel like that's what really makes me adverse to seeing this movie, the idea that fans and the creators thought there was something wrong with Power Rangers and it needed to be fixed. It's not enough that people simply like the new movie, it's that the previous iterations were bad and needed to be replaced. They need to feel legitimized as adults who watch a children's program by supplanting the old versions with a new "adult" take.

To be fair, that is how the franchise is at it's worst, but... yeah, it definitely feels like Power Rangers is one of those shows that can never get credit for what it does right, just endless crap for its mistakes.

Seriously, it's the kind of storyline you'd expect in some uber-violent 80's movie, not a freaking kid's show, but nobody ever talks about it. Man loses everything, his home, his race, even watches his own son get slaughtered in front of him, and the best part? It's his failure, he was their protector and they're all dead because he made a wrong decision. Then he proceeds on a homicidal rampage with no damns given for who gets hurt in the process.

You know, for kids!?
