I hate to say it, but this figure just doesn't look good... Maybe it's the body that makes everything else look off. Which is weird, because the other Ultra Action Figures look fine.

I think it is just due to how Shin Ultraman's design is proportioned. Here's the sofubi

Really looks like they are going to push the alien angle. It does have that pseudo-lanky-humanoid stature that the EVAs had. Intended to make you ever so slightly uncomfortable.

Aren't the toys developed first, so he wouldn't really design the riders unless he's involved from the very, very get go?

I really like the extraterrestrial angle they are going with it.

Would be crazy if Orb or Geed used the fused powers of this guy and The Next.

I think this one image, of all things, has instantly sold me on them using CG for the movie. Just looking at those proportions made me instantly agree that "Oh, okay. Yeah, a guy in a suit would look too much like a guy in a suit. I get it now!" Every inch of that body is subtly wrong in some way, and I might even love it because of that? It seems like the changes being made are very considered.

Seeing this I hope they make a figuarts of Anno Ultraman from Anno's Ultraman student film just for hype sake. And include it as a bonus feature when the DVDs and Blu-rays are ever released.
