Got a free Eyecon packed in from a Kotetsu Toys Japan order once. Between the feeling of pressing the button and the clicky noise it makes, It turns out to be a pretty good stim toy

The Ghost Driver is awesome and I hope it'll eventually also be on the list of things you've warmed up to when it comes to Ghost. I think something that goes a little underappreciated about it – both as a toy and on-screen – is just how physical it is? Like, the gimmick isn't more complicated than the DecaDriver, sure, but it's a whole lot more visceral; flipping that bulky cover down, popping an Eyecon in, and then slamming it closed, followed by smashing the big honkin' lever on the side both out and in. Like, I don't wanna diss the Gamer Driver or anything, because that's a belt I'm also quite fond of, but I honestly believe there are areas where it just can't compete.

(I do think it's hilarious how glaringly squished the stunt versions the suit actors wear in the show are though. I remember Drive being that way too, but it's just really amusing to imagine the people making the show immediately realizing "yeaaah, this isn't going to work as is.") :lol

Anyways, please excuse me for jumping to the defense of Ghost so shamelessly and predictably before thinking to say congrats on keeping that sweet collection of OOO items coming along. It's looking pretty good!

Look, if it nails that landing; Ghost is probably going to jump to Top 5 Kamen Riders for me (though, uh, ZO gives it a lot of competition), so I'm not ever gonna make you apologise for sticking up for it! This OOO collection is still about 4 things away from completion anyway (not even counting post-Saber toylines), so there'll be plenty more posts in the next year or so to celebrate :p

But the Ghost Driver... I do like the physicality of that lever, but I really can't get over the bulkiness-for-little-payoff. I tend towards liking more streamlined belts in general (Decade, Den-O, OOO, Kuuga, Black), so I do always view excessive bulkiness as an inherent flaw that must be justified with something interesting that you probably wouldn't be able to do or do as well without it, and the Ghost Driver just doesn't do that for me. I actually end up liking the Eyecon Driver G more because of it! Stuff like the Gamer Driver as well is also so inherently silly and tacky that the extra bulkiness just embraces that, while the Ghost Driver never felt like something that went for that. I also didn't know that the in-show belt prop was squished, so maybe that just furthers my point :p

To get technical, there's a version that matches the "normal" proportions for whenever it needs to actually do something in that particular shot, but yeah, it's kind of one of those things like the cameras reflected in the masks in like every close-up that's hard to unnotice once you start paying attention to it.

Saying you prefer the Eyecon Driver over the Ghost Driver was a smart move, by the way, because now I just want to gush about how cool that thing is too? Like, it's seriously the most genius ideas they ever had for one of the obligatory over-sized power-up items. The Ghost Driver's enclosed design kinda demands a standardized shape compared to something like the Build Driver, for example, so instead they just made one of the collectible items so big it IS a Driver, all by itself. Even the main button is just the normal Eyecon button right where it always it. Every year that goes by, I appreciate it more and more.

Kamen Rider Buster's floppy sword is at the top of my list for Props Toei hoped we wouldn't notice.
