http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFGrCQ__Uyg Probably not the single worst moment in the history of Power Rangers, but easily top five. I'm sorry to anyone who just watched that. |

Someone really needs to make a 'worst moments in Power Rangers' thread. |

so I started watching Jungle Fury, man I love that theme :lol, and it might just be me because me and RJ have the same name :p but I really like this series for some reason, when I started watching others on Netflix I can barely watch them, but I have like 10 episodes left to finish :lol

I decided to give V.R. Troopers a shot and have watched the first 5 episodes on Netflix. Despite the fact that episodes were spliced together from 2 (or was it 3?) different shows, they flow pretty well.
Boy do I despise that dog though. I guess in an otherwise more serious kid's show they needed to have some kind of comedic relief. |

I haven't seen the show myself, but I know that the talking dog is actually a thing that was in the original Metalder. |
VR Troopers is actually one of the few shows that I remember watching, but I can't remember a single thing about...

Does anyone know of any decent subs that exist of Metalder or Spielban? |

I think DFF did an episode or two of Spielban, but other than that it's as unsubbed as every other Metal Heroes show. :( |
I am also working through VR Troopers, though on my DVDs rather than on Netflix. The show is a lot like Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad in that you can tell both were designed for syndication, as they can really be watched in pretty much any order.
I'm on episode 12, and in these dozen episodes, I'd like to just mention that we have seen Kaitlin Starr in a bikini twice already. So it appears that Saban knew he could get away with some sex as well as violence by not being on a network. :D (EDIT: And yes, by the same rationale, female fans got to see Ryan and JB shirtless twice at this point as well!) Also, regarding Zeb -- Metalder actually had a talking dog in it as well. He did not speak with a bad Jack Nicholson voice, but the talking dog concept is in the original! Anyway, still enjoying the heck out of VR Troopers. I dug this show when I was 14 and I still dig it now. It's prime popcorn fare; turn your brain off and enjoy. I also watched the first episode of Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad, which I actually just watched onlin a few months ago. Very enjoyable, even though the inserts are much lower quality than their Saban contemporaries, they make up for it with a certain level of sheer inane and bizarre supporting characters. Malcolm and Kilokhan are darling, though. "What do you want, Kilokhan?" "POWER! It is POWER I DESIRE! What do you desire, Meat-Thing?" |
Jungle Fury's playing on the morning before school on Kix so I'm kinda marathoning that along with me little brother. He doesn't like Power Rangers, so I have to put up with his snide comments. I'm up to the Spirit World (Jungle Gorilla Megazord) section, and my favourite character is definitely RJ. This is almost convincing me to watch Geki.

Do it. You won't be disappointed! |
I have finally found the time to start working my way through the Beetleborgs DVDs I bought months ago. Watched the first 3 episodes tonight.
Is this show utterly crazy? Yes. Are Flabber & co completely unnecessary? Probably. Are the villain generals stupid even for Saban standards? Yes. Am I loving every second of it? You better believe it. I've said for ages I'd sit through 53 episodes of crap just to watch 53 episodes of those glorious B-Fighter suits, but unlike Masked Rider this is proving to be a nostalgia trip of the GOOD kind. I know I shouldn't be enjoying it this much but I can't help but sit there with a huge grin :D I also think the "kids as superheroes" element works so much better when the entire team are kids, which explained why I preferred it so much over Turbo when I was young. I can't wait to start hitting the episodes that have proper Beetleborg action. |
Shooting the Blue Stinger Gallery made me want to rewatch the 'Lost Comic' arc that takes up the second half of Beatleborgs Metallix. The Astral Borg suits are really good look but they pale in comparison to the evil borg suits (whose group name escapes me).
I think my biggest gripe with this whole show is that it feels like the beetleborgs/kids play second fiddle to the mansion monsters. |
Watched the first 3 episodes of Time Force. I really enjoyed them so far and love Katie, Trip is awesome, Not liking Jen so far, Wes is pretty cool and Lucas is good at being a dick but still good.

I'm gonna join you two in watching Time Force to see if I'm being blinded by nostalgia or if I really do enjoy it...

Up to episode 12 of Beetleborgs, and now my nostalgia goggles have fizzled out the show's obvious flaws are beginning to be a bit clearer.
Conundrum hit it right on the head when he said that the mansion monsters take the centre stage far too often. More often than not they seem to be the main focus and the actual monster is the side-story. I don't honestly dislike the characters, but I do wish there was less of them. Being derived from a comic book the show also suffers many of the problems present in the MMPR redux. The panel jumping is fine because it fits really well, but the Adam West Batman style sound effects popping up over the B-Fighters footage never look good. I'm still have a lot of fun with it though, much more fun than I had with Masked Rider. Out of Saban's adaptations this is definitely the one that seemed to be aimed at younger audiences. It's really made me want to flesh out my figure collection too - Gargantis and the Beetle AVs especially. |

MMPR really didn't hold up. I couldn't make it through S1 before dropping it...
But Time Force episode 1 was pretty nice. I can see myself still enjoying it. |

Currently watching Jungle Fury, considering this is either not talked about or hated by Power Rangers fans, I really like it, it's certainly better than GekiRanger (in my opinion).
Sure Jungle Fury's story telling is kinda clunky, but it has a great cast, great character arcs and the characters all bounce off of one another really well. |
