a VERY good start, really enjoyed it, really looking forward to see where this series goes
troy is looking to be a good red ranger, and he is 10 times better than that POS Alata from Goseiger, my god, the series is already in my good graces for fixing that bullshit :lol This seems like a decent cast, and I hope they do get the gokaiger suits somehow, because I could dig that, and so that sentai can rage :lol what can i say, the gokaiger suits are so much more badass than the goseiger ones, they need used! |
I really enjoyed the first episode. I was surprised to find no aspect irritating. Like how Samurai felt too heavily localized for such a Japanese concept. And with the spliced footage, I understand why they still use Japanese cards and Tensouders instead of Power Cards and Gosei Morphers.

Will post my thoughts more in depth tomorrow. Just some points here.
From Best to Worst, Acting Performances 1) Jake 2) Gia 3) Emma 4) Noah 5) Troy I have to say it, but so far Troy is a freakin' piece of cardboard. No influxion in his voice performance, no facial movements at all for things like, "Follow my lead!". And "I'm new in town" was horribly delivered. I'm not trying to be super duper critical, but ugh, I hope he's not the "Emily" of this season. Anyways. Loved the first episode. Still figuring out some of those Ranger Keys though. |

As someone that grew up when Power Rangers originally aired in the US, it felt like it was trying way way way too hard to pull those nostalgia strings that it actually was a bit annoying to me.
|
Thanks to a link from this thread I was able to watch this episode otherwise I don't know if I'll ever see it, don't know of any channel here in the Philippines that would carry the show. Anyway, I was a bit underwhelmed by Tensou I thought the support robot would something be more like Alpha. And that scene where Emma got teleported in the middle of Gosei explaining about aliens, she went straight to saying that he's right rather than being surprised that she was teleported. Well it was agood enough first episode, I don't know if I'll continue to follow it but I guess as long as I can find a link to it maybe I will.

i love the the first episode it felt like it could been better it it was better then samurai. also i think the keys arnt going to be use as keys but as statues that turn in to the ranger cards.

1) Jake 2) Noah 3) Gia 4) Troy 5) Emma I don't think Troy is the new "Emily", he seems more like Jayden was at the start. A bit too stoic and bland, but I guess that's just how his character is. |

Then on opening it is very easy for me, it is true that I have expected anything other than recovery, but its going very
fine. With regard to the episode I liked Mr Burley also have a nice appearance but will be giving in some episode on the new control center is class with all ranger keys (although have them not any view, I like that has also made the console for each store (now to see if it will be in servire or if it was just for decoration lol) I think its about Gosei nice to have a report with Zordon but I confess that at the moment tensou (similar to Alpha 5/6) is nothing will not have it later if more is revealed or not. Regarding star Wars it will surely give a son retorde the Rangers. the transformation is more than nice I love. Fenced in my opinion I would say that overall I love the episode (although for some it is a reboot of the first episode of MMPR) Highly later. |
How exactly does a floating blue blob mentor a tiki mask. Let that statement sink in for a moment...
Now, the question is what exactly did Zordon teach Gosei? Is it the art of how to get teenagers to do his job for him? I like to think it is. I also like to think that Alpha 7 stops by once a year to drop off Ranger Keys and keeps lying to Gosei about Zordon's death everytime he asks. :lol Anyways, the episode. Think I need a few more episodes to make my judgement, but that was a strong first episode. It's just so very much like Day of the Dumpster that it's hard to tell what Mega Force is like on it's own writing. That said, I liked what I saw. The acting was acceptable...except Troy (most seem to agree on this). Emma strikes me as a character I won't like in future episodes. "Environmentalist" makes me think her episodes will end up being, well...[In Ted Turner voice]Captain Planet! The rest are fine (including the extended cast). |
I liked the episode. It was far too quick and really didn't give weight to the legacy the team is inheriting but I hope they expand on it in further episodes. Also, Troy is a like a wooden robot!

After watching I think this cast has the potential to really work for an American Gokaiger.
I enjoyed the episode! |

spike would be worse and more bumbling than ziggy and we dont need that

I'd much rather Ziggy takes that Magic Subway that Scott took and becomes the Silver, than have Spike return. Or Bulk, or Skull. It was cute. Now go away.

dont get me wrong, i love ziggy. to me he shows a hero can come in all shapes but he was bumbling at times.
|
Just bring back Bulk, Skull, and Spike as supporting characters.
Maybe Bulk & Spike are the PE teachers at the school? :D And Skull is the rich investor who keeps donating money to clean it up? :lol |
I don't feel like reading through 19 pages of comments to see if someone echoes my sentiment but I really wish they had changed the card footage. It's a bit weird to see the card say Skick Sword and then have Troy call it the Dragon Sword. But that's only a minor complaint. Everything else in this episode was very reminiscent of the first MMPR episode and I appreciate that. Not sure how I feel about Emma and Gia acting skill wise but the three guys are pretty good. Looking forward to next weeks episode!

Just finished watching it, and I loved every second of it. All the way through Samurai I kept telling myself the next season would be better and if this episode is an indication of anything I was right.
It had everything I wanted from a debut episode - it moved at a reasonably fast pace, had a lengthy unmorphed fight sequence (something Samurai severely lacked) and references to MMPR abound. I will agree the use of the Japanese cards is incredibly distracting, if only because its going to happen so constantly. Also, on the subject of the unmorphed fight again - it was so nice to see the characters fighting with what skills they had rather than them all being relatively proficient in martial arts from the get-go. |

Although I find it sad that a group of highly advance alien war machines were bested by a group of civilians with no real combat experience to speak of. |

i wait see zords in ep 2 of pr megaforce |
I just caught the pilot.
Overall, I thought it was pretty good for Power Rangers. As I thought, Troy can't act for his life, but the rest of the cast is pretty swell. I thought it was a little less cheesy than Power Rangers usually is, so that's good. I'm very glad they cut out the whole boulder eating the team thing from Goseiger. Speaking of Goseiger, the borrowed footage is very, very apparent. The original shots are pretty, but Goseiger footage sticks out like a sore thumb. Emma's "battle sounds" are a lot more like whimpers, but that's not so much of a bother. Also, are the Ranger Keys original molds? Because that Time Force red's neck looked kinda off. (Sorry if that's already been answered.) All in all, I liked the show quite a bit. I'm always a fan of the high school setting, so I'll be looking forward to the rest of this show. |

Bandai isn't quite done with Ranger KEys yet, next thing you know they'll make a Ranger Key Set megaforce edition. |
The keys are decoration. NOTHING ELSE!
|
They definitely seem like new props

It wasn't horrible, but it could have been better. The beginning just seems so random though that it just starts in the middle of a monster getting punched only for Troy to wake up not even a second later. It kind of threw off the mood and it took me about 5 minutes before I could get back to being focused on the episode. There were some good throw backs to the first episode of MMPR (thank the gods Pink did not say "NOT!" after the hair comment), but some things felt rushed. Oh, and someone should tell Saban that Michael Bay called and said he wants Wheelie back. Finally, is it juts me, or did the ranger keys look to be CGI rather than actually there?

But Yea I mean who can resit Ziggy! With that said...I hope we get to see Robo-Knight in the next episode hopefully or maybe towards the end of the 2nd episode....And they should totally cue a epic music when they first show him as if he was the next Magna Defender. |

Not bad actually. I liked it quite a bit. If there is one thing I could nitpick is that I felt like I was watching one big fight scene. I felt like they spent 5 minutes introducing the characters and 20 minutes on explosions. Too much sizzle not enough steak.
