Everyone on here is quite friendly. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. |
Galvantula is <3
Anyway, welcome. What shows and movies have you watched, Toku wise? And are you more of a Sentai or KR fan? |
Galvantula sounds like a badass pet tarantula that Galvatron keeps in his bedroom.
Welcome! |

Also Toku wise I've only watched Power Rangers Seasons 1-10 fully as well as most of Dino Thunder. After that it was little pieces of various Kamen Rider and Super Sentai shows, with my liking going toward the former, although the later is still cool to me. |

Hi, everyone! My name is Jason, I'm from southeastern-ish Pennsylvania, and I've been a toku fan for a loooong time! I'm 22 now, and, as you can probably guess, Power Rangers pretty much started it all for me (back in 93/94). I just graduated (in May) from college and I will be moving to Japan for a job in September. I'm super-excited about the prospects of tokusatsu merchandise. It's definitely a plus to being in Japan! Anyway, I'm looking for friends who share my interests, so I think I came to the right place, haha. It's nice to meet you guys! ^^

Whoo! Another Pennsylvanian! Welcome, Jason.

well this whole time I never formally introduced myself..just dropped right in lol...
Well I'm Starscreamer, used to be rampant at tfans, now more confined to TFINO for the Transformers stuff...kinda old school fanboy...and rampant shutter bug now. Things to know...umm...mid 30's...love my amazing wife, my first kid is due in october...have over 500 figures, and an expanding figuarts collection. Love the dark Riders/anti hero types (Ouja, Kick Hopper and such), working on learning more about the Sentai series though. Oh and will take any chance to plug my review page lol |
Electric_Turahk: Thanks! You bet! Pennsylvanian born and raised! =D
Sentai_Tamashii: Thank you! I think I'll be able to provide some information! Although I probably won't be doing episode encoding, I can still translate "breaking" information and report my observations to share the joy of toku with fellow fans! Starscreamer: Nice to see another (fairly) new member on here! I'm (obviously) new here, too! Congrats on your first child! |
Glad to meet you Dekajay! It's always nice to be able to greet other fans. I got into tokusatsu during the MMPR run back in 93-94 myself too.
|
well i guess i should do this too. im coturos, i come from madison wisconisn. i got into kamen rider and super sentai in early 2010 though i've been watchin power rangers since 1998.
|
Galvantula: Thank you, glad to meet you as well! Awesome! That was the time to do it!
coturos: Nice to meet you as well! It seems like you're new to the Sentai fandom. It's a great one! |
Welcome DJ! You're totally gonna love it here. Everyone's super awesome and nice, as you've probably already noticed. :P

ShockerCon: Thank you! Yes, I've noticed that the crew here is very welcoming and supportive! It sure is a reason to not only enjoy the fandom, but the forum as a collective group! From what I've seen, everyone is pretty intelligent and non-abrasive. It's awesome!
Sentai_Tamashii: I'm glad to see my 4 years of college-level Japanese not only not go to waste, but to help people in the toku community! It wasn't even my major, but I seem to be doing so much with it, lol. But yes, if you have anything, please send it over! I'd be more than happy to take a look at it! |
You are definitely an asset to this community Dekajay! Thanks for joining up!
|
Thank you, Den-O! I appreciate your kind words. It was my pleasure to join the crew. I hope I can help to serve the community well. I certainly feel welcomed!

new Ranger fan aboard :)
Hey guys,
i just signed up here after lurking and snooping around these boards for a few weeks, it seems like a very nice place and i want to learn more about this hobby so i'll be spending my time reading up and asking questions here & there. My name is Jelle and i'm from Belgium, i always loved Power rangers altho my knowledge is mostly on the american side of things and most definatly the original mighty morphin era since that is the one i really grew up with, but over the years i learned about other series and about the japanese versions and i've tried to get into some of them but the language barrier ain't always easy. anyway these are things i'll discuss in other topics, i'll keep this short and simple, i'm here to stay and with this introduction the ball is rolling so to speak :) Thank you and you'll seeme pop up in other threads soon enough, byee |
Welcome! I think that due to the language barrier, Power Ranger would allow you to fall into the genre of Tokusatsu easier than the Sentai series. With Power Ranger Samurai and the upcoming Megaforce, there should be plenty to keep you happy here :D
|
I've been active for a couple of weeks now but was looking for an introduction thread and somehow missed this until now.
'ello all, I was just on the edge of being too old for MMPR when it first aired, but had a younger neighbor whose parents got him most of the DX Megazord up through Zeo. About a year ago, I decided to take up collecting some of the old figures. Though at the beginning of this year I found out about how amazing Magiking/Titan Megazord was and started picking up misc robots since Zeo that I thought looked cool. At the same time I became enamored with the spiky cluster-wtf of PR Samurai's Gigazord and started collecting that as well (lovingly nicknamed the Gigaderpazord). Which brings me to now. I have a crying wallet from half a year of DX collecting and decided to come here to see other people's collections and [s]justify[/s]show off my own. I just need to get around to taking pictures. All my newer purchases are already on display while my Transformers collection and random anime figures languish in boxes until I get around to buying some good display cases to finish my action figure room. tl;dr I'm primarily a Super Sentai DX robot collector, but I have started watching Gokaiger and intend to follow through to Go-Busters. |
Welcome to Jelle and schlagwerk! :)

G'day,
Australian toku fan. Been lurking a bit here and there and know a few of you guys from other places so decided to register. so..sup? |
A borki bork bork from Sweden!
I registered here quite a while back but never got around to posting due to various reasons. I recently decided to give it a go due to the negative atmosphere that seems to affect a lot of other fandoms these days. I'm mainly a Kamen Rider nut. I got curious about the franchise back in 09 when Decade was all the rage but the first one I actually watched was Den-O and it's still my favourite show to date. どぞうよろしく! |

Apologies for posting here late. I uh, just found the thread. There are a lot of forums; easy to get lost. :)
Hi, y'all. I've been a Toku nut ever since I saw Dynaman on Night Flight wayyyy back in the day. I recognised similarities when Power Rangers started a few years alter, started tape trading around 94, and never really looked back. I try to keep open to everything--Toku is a lot like pizza, in that even when it's bad it's pretty good. This led to some writing about it for a fanzine, doing some Jetman fanfic and art, and ultimately blogging about it. This seems like a great community-it's good that it's a generally optimistic community that doesn't draw battle lines. I'm looking forward to contributing as much as I can. I'm mostly disposed toward the older stuff (Jetman was the first series I collected |
Welcome to the Command Center and Tokunation!
|
I pop in here every so often, my apologies for not doing so more often, busy busy busy!
Welcome to all of our new members. If you ever need anything or have specific questions you'd rather ask in private, by all means do not hesitate to send me a PM. I try to answer everyone's PM's in a timely fashion! Enjoy your time here, and thanks for contributing to our little slice of the Tokusatsu pie :) |
Hey, I'm Crystal Convoy. I kept hearing about Kamen Rider and thought it looked cool, but I never bothered to check it out until recently. I decided to YouTube it and watched All Riders v. Dai Shocker and the Den-O movie with the battleship-thing, and was like: "Yeah, this is awesome." I've currently watched both episodes of Wizard and am loving it and am half-way through Kuuga and am really enjoying it as well.

welcome :)
leave ur savings account and wallet at the door, u wont need those anymore :lol |

Been a member here for a little bit but I never did an introduction, so I'll do one!
I've recently been getting into Toku in the past year or so. Big fan of Fourze and Wizard so far, as well as Godzilla. Been trying to get into some of the lesser known Toku stuff as well (Just bought Zaboranger and Daimajin movies on BluRay). I'm probably in the minority here that I don't collect very many Toku toys, but I am a big fan of Bandai's Tamashii Nations line. I also run a website at thedaytimeninja.com where I talk about and review toys, you should check it out! :D |

I wasn't super super huge in to Tokusatsu until I caught Kamen Rider Dragon Knight and wanted to watch the original stuff (because let's face it, it was a horrible translation/adaption). RPM got me back in to Power Rangers, and Gokaiger introduced me in to how wonderful Sentai can be. Kamen Rider Fourze got me hooked on Kamen Rider, and here I am, hundreds if not thousands of dollars poorer because of SH Figuarts and running my own Tokusatsu site! Anyhow, glad you're here :) |
