Jungle's a good alternative to Mandarake but sometimes you end up paying more(sometimes less). I prefer Mandarake(especially Nakano branch) because it feels like their shipping is cheaper but I did get some decent deals at Jungle in the past. I got my Ankh (complete) there for 4675yen a couple of months back.

Kind of surprised it's off most people's radar, they even have a US store in the LA area(this particular website is their Japanese branch though).

So I just made my first ever purchase from Mandarake. Got me a Gokai Blue and Gokai Green, both with their Gokai darins. I spring for the EMS shipping too, si they should be here before long.

I'm gonna have to thank you also for introducing this site to me. Haha. I see some cheap DX Hercules Buster sets which are very tempting. I was considering getting it on mandarake for 3000 yen but they have it cheaper. The only question is how do their shipping costs compare? I'm not sure how much mandarake would charge for it but I was thinking it would probably be around $30-40 for a mecha?

It came today and sure enough didn't have my full address. Good thing I called the Post Office to let them know so everything worked out. And better yet the item was listed as "Damaged Box", but the box was pristine. What do they consider a damaged box? A speck of dirt :lol

They considered my seaick and skyick header box damaged too. All I found was the top of the box was pushed in like a milimeter and a corner was a little bent.

It looked damn near perfect to me though too. Better they are over cautious than not cautious at all!

I don't think I've ever seen a Mandarake listing for mint in box. I think they just label everything as damaged box to avoid inevitable bitching by OCD otaku.

Whenever the box is REALLY damaged, they usually include several different angles in the pictures to show what's wrong.

Their shipping's not ruinous but it's not cheap, either. Maybe Den-O would know better, I've never gotten a DX mecha so I have no idea how big they are. I'd plan on $40 to be safe though. I don't think their EMS is any more expensive than Mandarake's though.

Emsl on dx mecha is steep. It's great on SHF figures but ems is normally 3000-4000 minimum peritem for dx mecha

Depends on what you're getting. Just above you someone mentioned how expensive EMS can get when ordering large things. (my henshin belt was alos a bit pricey to ship) but it's great for figures.

There is a set of toys I have been trying to buy for about a year now and they are up on Amazon Japan, offered by Amazon Japan, with free shipping. They only have 1 set of these toys left in stock. I can't find a set of them anywhere else and for such a resonable price. The toys cost about $25 before shipping when the yen is converted to dollars.

I wish I knew the answer to this, I've been trying to find out myself. From what I can tell, Yokatta's a bit expensive, but they are easy to deal with and pretty reliable with preorders. There's another person with a service called RiderProxy that has a thread on HenshinJustice.

Sentai Tamashii, from THIS forum, has a middleman service but I don't know if he does Amazon.jp. Worth asking him in PM though.

I emailed Yokatta and they can buy it. The item's price from Amazon.jp is ￥ 2,380 and their fee is ￥ 700 which makes it ￥ 3,080. Most places suggested on the Tokunation list and from folks on TFW charge the ￥ 700 for a fee. Below is the reply they have sent me so far. So is ￥ 700 a fair fee or can I get this thing even cheaper? I just need someone in Japan to buy it and then ship it to me. I have never done this before so with my first attempt I'm just trying to not overpay more than I should (whatever a fair price may be).

700 yen is pretty fair. I looked around and a lot of the middleman/proxy sites that deal more generally with Japanese items(as opposed to just toys) tend to charge a straight percentage with a minimum guaranteed charge. And it usually seems to be more than 700.

Looks like that cheap Bouken Red became an expensive Bouken Red. I paded out my order with another item and HLJ shipped the 2 separately, and charged me EMS shipping for both :rolleyes

Yeah I didn't realise how HLJ worked either. Deka and buster red ended up getting shipped together, so I sent bouken to the warehouse and added jyudenchi set 2 to it to make it a little better. Its still crazy cheap for me though =]

I was just wondering, do people think Gobuster DX CB-01 is worth 3800 yen before shipping? Or if the DX Gobuster-oh box set worth 8000 yen before shipping? And how much would the approximate shipping for either is?

Maybe on the box set but I often see the DX Ace for about 1500-2000 yen before shipping. Camp out mandarake for a few days, they always turn up cheaply there.

These were both found on mandarake actually, there was only one DX Ace for sale. Guess I'll wait and see. I feel like if I get one gobuster mecha i have to get the rest save for li-oh cause hes quite costly. Hopefully they wont cost too much to acquire or maybe I can just got for the kyoryuger mechs?...hmmm...decisions decisions.
