They're a very good store, only offer EMS and RSAL/SAL shipping though. |
I've never heard of this store. And look, there's Magnugiga for 800 cheaper than I got it for on Mandarake a few weeks ago.
But still, nobody has Kamen Rider Gai. :( |

Jungle's a good alternative to Mandarake but sometimes you end up paying more(sometimes less). I prefer Mandarake(especially Nakano branch) because it feels like their shipping is cheaper but I did get some decent deals at Jungle in the past. I got my Ankh (complete) there for 4675yen a couple of months back.
Kind of surprised it's off most people's radar, they even have a US store in the LA area(this particular website is their Japanese branch though). |
So I just made my first ever purchase from Mandarake. Got me a Gokai Blue and Gokai Green, both with their Gokai darins. I spring for the EMS shipping too, si they should be here before long.

It looked damn near perfect to me though too. Better they are over cautious than not cautious at all! |
I don't think I've ever seen a Mandarake listing for mint in box. I think they just label everything as damaged box to avoid inevitable bitching by OCD otaku.
Whenever the box is REALLY damaged, they usually include several different angles in the pictures to show what's wrong. Quote:

Emsl on dx mecha is steep. It's great on SHF figures but ems is normally 3000-4000 minimum peritem for dx mecha

What is the best/cheapest service to use to buy a toy from Amazon Japan?
|
I just missed this. *smash everything*

Depends on what you're getting. Just above you someone mentioned how expensive EMS can get when ordering large things. (my henshin belt was alos a bit pricey to ship) but it's great for figures. |
No, I mean like middleman/shopping service.
I can't order the item directly from amazon.jp, I must have someone in Japan order it and then ship it to me. I am in the United States. |
I don't think there's any clear middleman/forwarding service that's the cheapest.
|
Has anyone had HLJ split an order?
|
What should one expect to pay for shipping on a DX Mecha?
|
There is a set of toys I have been trying to buy for about a year now and they are up on Amazon Japan, offered by Amazon Japan, with free shipping. They only have 1 set of these toys left in stock. I can't find a set of them anywhere else and for such a resonable price. The toys cost about $25 before shipping when the yen is converted to dollars.
What is the best/cheapest purchasing service to use to buy a toy from Amazon Japan? I did some calculations on one buying service and it would be $50&change shipped, but I'm looking to see if there are any other cheaper options. I see this place listed as a middleman purchasing service: http://www.yokattaweb.jp/ordering.html How are they? Are they expensive? Thanks. |
I wish I knew the answer to this, I've been trying to find out myself. From what I can tell, Yokatta's a bit expensive, but they are easy to deal with and pretty reliable with preorders. There's another person with a service called RiderProxy that has a thread on HenshinJustice.
Sentai Tamashii, from THIS forum, has a middleman service but I don't know if he does Amazon.jp. Worth asking him in PM though. |

EDIT: alright, I can contact Rider from here I guess: http://forums.henshinjustice.com/showthread.php?t=49712 I emailed Yokatta and they can buy it. The item's price from Amazon.jp is ¥ 2,380 and their fee is ¥ 700 which makes it ¥ 3,080. Most places suggested on the Tokunation list and from folks on TFW charge the ¥ 700 for a fee. Below is the reply they have sent me so far. So is ¥ 700 a fair fee or can I get this thing even cheaper? I just need someone in Japan to buy it and then ship it to me. I have never done this before so with my first attempt I'm just trying to not overpay more than I should (whatever a fair price may be). Quote:

700 yen is pretty fair. I looked around and a lot of the middleman/proxy sites that deal more generally with Japanese items(as opposed to just toys) tend to charge a straight percentage with a minimum guaranteed charge. And it usually seems to be more than 700.

Nakano has the Super Best W Driver up for 4000 Yen-

Looks like that cheap Bouken Red became an expensive Bouken Red. I paded out my order with another item and HLJ shipped the 2 separately, and charged me EMS shipping for both :rolleyes
|
Yeah I didn't realise how HLJ worked either. Deka and buster red ended up getting shipped together, so I sent bouken to the warehouse and added jyudenchi set 2 to it to make it a little better. Its still crazy cheap for me though =]

Been looking for one for a while. |
I was just wondering, do people think Gobuster DX CB-01 is worth 3800 yen before shipping? Or if the DX Gobuster-oh box set worth 8000 yen before shipping? And how much would the approximate shipping for either is?

Does anyone know where I can find a cheap Gokai Red complete?

They usually go for ~3000yen on Mandarake. Trouble is finding one.

Anyone know where I can find a Nobi Nobita Figuarts from Doraemon?

I'm just curious, does anyone know how much a MISB MMPR Red Dragon Thunderzord is worth? Would it be worth $60 shipped? The only problem would then to find the Thunderzord Assault team for a decent price. Or would it be more economical to find a complete MMPR Thunder Megazord?
|
Can somebody tell me what this is?
