Oh yeah it made sense in context, non conductive metal, lightning etc but mother of God it looked like some hideous piece of pound shop jewellery.

I think the shininess of it really added to the tackiness, it probably would have looked better if it was duller.

I think they made it that shiney because that was Gentaro. Bright and Loud as Rock Concert on the Sun.

At least for the first half of the show...which is basically the only times Elek is used.

I wish it was used more honestly. Alot of situations can be solved with an electric sword.

I still think OOO had the worst handling of forms, most of the forms were used only twice, hell some of the individual medals were used only once or twice while the Purple Dinosaur form was used for pretty much half the show solid, it made all the forms really pointless and seemingly important forms like TaJaDor were ultimately worthless.

Base Fourze has some good ideas, but the goofy helmet and giant clunky belt hold it back for me. Honestly, the only suit I liked out of Fourze was Meteor.

PuToTyra really ruined the combo change thing in the show.

It was the ultimate form, that's what they do. You think OOO was bad, Kiva got his ultimate form in the early 20s and by episode 30 it was the only suit he used.

Except it wasn't used in the final fight, and it was hella silly and represented something bad.

You know. I had another thought. We keep complaining about wanting Kamen Rider to do something original, and then we complain when they do it because it isn't like other Riders. I'm guilty of this too. So, I'm going to give Gaimu a chance. It is what we asked for.

There's some symbolism as to why PuToTyra wasn't used to finish the final fight and why TaJaDor was. Evolution. Dinosaurs (PuToTyra) getting beaten and outlived by their descendants, the birds (TaJaDor).

Gotta agree with this, at least OOO tried to use other forms, Wataru went straight to Emperor when transforming, basically eliminating all other forms from the show.

Agreed. And you know what, I like Gaimu's design. It's a unique spin on the kamen rider esthetic and has a nice charm to it. Also I love samurai.

That's fine and dandy.

But it still meant that PuToTyra sucked up way too much time and basically made his other forms useless. And in making that little bit of symbolism the show basically made it seem like a pointless power up, since a form that he had aquired much earlier was ultimtely used to defeat the villain.

And that symbolism's kind of shaky when you realised the PuToTyra came way after TaJaDor. Not even right after, since ShaUTa was in between. Hell, ShaUTa was barely used itself.

OOO really fumbled the form changing. TaJaDor should've been the final form revealed. Perhaps only aquired after Ankh became complete. Then they could've pulled an evolution thing then, not right at the end when that symbolism was entirely absent literally until the final fight. But all it really did was make most of his forms seem useless and PuToTyra seem utterly pointless since his truely "useful" form was what ultimately led him to victory.

Also, that symbolism still doesn't work even ignoring all that, since Dinosaurs evolved into Birds. Birds did not "beat" or "outlive" dinosaurs, they ARE dinosaurs so to speak. Really if that's what they were going for, his final form should have been mammals, since they survived when dinosaurs could not.

AND that still doesn't make sense, since the fall of the dinosaurs was from outside interference. A meteor from space, not the nature running it's course. Dinosaurs lived for millions upon millions of years. Far longer than birds and mammals. They were evolutionarily strong, they were not beaten. Birds did not hit a home run, a train crashed onto the field and wiped out the opposing team.

I don't believe so. He did use the different main color combos even after he obtained PuToTyra. Considering PuToTyra's ability to "negate desire" and therefore kill the Greeed, it was the more effective combo to use. For example, RaToraTah had proven to be able to injure Mezool when she was incomplete. When she became "complete," his "sunlight" couldn't beat her. He needed the MedaGabryu to defeat her.

I see ShaUTa being barely used due to there not being that much call for an aquatic battle. Just like how Rod Form in Den-O was barely used.

Technically, Birds and Mammals were present- Ankh's Cores (Birds) and Eiji himself (mammals/humanity.)

There actually is a whole symbolism thing going on. Reason Kazari was such a manipulative bastard? He's based on Big Cats, which like to hunt and devour birds, aquatic life, and heavy animals. He's cunning and a dangerous predator. Uva being the last of the 4 main villain Greeeds? He's based on insects, and what category does a cockroach, which is known to be able to survive even the harshest conditions, falls into? Mezool's weakness to the sunlight attack of RaToraTah? The heat dehydrates her. Gamel being not being the brightest guy around? Heavy animals tend to move slowly. And Kazari "dying" at a combination of PuToTyra and Maki's Greeed form? Even though he was "top predator," it shows what would happen if dinosaurs were still around.

Actually, the impact theory is still just that, a theory. Whether a meteor actually impacted and "killed" the dinosaurs, there are also the theories of disease and the drop in temperature. Granted if the meteor impact theory had been proven to be true, the results of the meteor impacting would have killed the dinosaurs.

That and they discovered the supposed meteor that impacted actually hit 80 million years ago, while the end of the Mesozoic was 66 million years ago.

That would ruin all the fun of him imploding into a black hole with temporal properties :lol

I agree 100% with this. The Dinosaur Form just appears, and then takes over, for no reason. It's established that the Combos are all and powerful, designed to take down the Greed. And even if we say 'oh yeah but the Greed evolved beyond them'...the show didn't...show that as Eiji was kicking ass as he always did.

All it did was waste half the show yammering on about the importance of Combos only to make them completely redundant as soon as they come into play.

Considering TaJaDor was Ankh's form, and in Eiji's case a 'complete' form for Ankh it should have all felt way more important, their relationship was central to the story, completion is Ankh's reason for living (at first) and this was Eiji using his cores but it was just another form change and just another form change used in the movies about as much as it's used in the show, pathetic.

Except all this is plot contrivance to justify the purple medals. If the only ability the purple medals posess is "the other medals don't work for some random reason" then why not shuffle the purple medals' powers to TaJaDor and have IT be the most powerful form capable of destroying medals? There's no reason that needed to be shuffled onto PuToTyra.

Also, Rod form's limited use was because it didn't do anything different than Sword Form, when you think about it. It's gimmick wasn't being water-based, it was it's rod that wasn't all that different from a sword. Not as different as, say, an axe or gun.

That's really weak and you know it. PLUS it doesn't match up with what you originally said.

All this has nothign to do with the birds/dinosaurs thing.

It's cool, don't get me wrong, but just because most of your symbolism works, doesn't mean the BS gets a free pass.

Theories are not "guesses." The only reason teh impact theory is a theory is because we cannot go back in time and witness it.

Also "results" of the impact makes no difference. If the meteor did not hit, the Dinosaurs would not have been wiped out the way they were. If a person is shot and bleeds to death, technically it's the results of the bullet impact, not the bullet itself. Ash and dust storms do not rain down with the force to instantly incinerate entire sections of the world in nature.

And we would've never got Kamen Rider Aqua!

Because that would make sense, and if there is one thing OOO didn't do, it was make sense.

Considering Ankh was supposedly so powerful, it makes more sense that HIS medals have that ability instead of brand new medals made in modern times where the animals they're made of no longer exist.

Considering Ankh's importance to the story, and his and Eiji's relationship you think TaJaDor would actually have a purpose and not be just another form used once or twice.

But nope let's just introduce random medals half way through the show, completely undermine everything we've been setting up and building towards and have that Combo be basically the only thing used for the rest of the show!

The dinosaurs no longer existing. As we've both agreed on before, they were strong in terms of evolution. Think about it, the animals OOO uses for his other combos all live in ecosystems, sometimes together. Introduce dinosaurs into that mix, you disrupt the whole balance. I mean, in a fight, do you really see the bird dominating the heavy animal or the big cat, or would you see the dinosaur being the one that devours all? Do you really expect a dinosaur to live in harmony with the other animals of the modern age?


It kinda does when you think about it from a budget perspective. It already cost them a lot on GataKiriBa's cloning CGI cost.

I never said theories are guesses. I know what theories are and so far that one has still not been resolved. Dinosaurs would've still been wiped out even without the meteor or not. Even without the meteor, viral infection could still develop and a biohazard could've wiped them out. Temperatures could still drop or rise to the point that some dinosaurs would die out and some would need to evolve in order to adapt to their harsh environment.

Considering all the time travel in Ultimatum, I'm surprised he didn't show up with anything for Fourze and Wizard.

My problem is how they were handled. Dinosaur medals are a good idea, but they shouldn't have been the final form or given that power. It doesn't make sense and they were used way too often.
